I actually agree with this, I just replayed Quake 1 on KB +M this last week. The last time I played it was on controller last year. I had a harder time with it this time at first and I have no idea why. Towards the end it was fine but it felt a little all over the place at many points. yea nothings really stopping you in terms of using third party programs to manipulate the game, the only contingency put in place is the command “god” permanently reduces your hp to 20 instead of giving you godmode. however if you meant cheat codes, that can only be done on missions you have already played in that save file, and ultra nightmare doesn’t even have mission select at that

the 700ms clock starts ticking when the pickups are spawned, which for glory kills and chainsaw anims commonly happens before the animation is over

there's no post-gk iframes in 2016 so a glory kill in that game can actually guarantee your death

As I replay Eternal there’s something that’s always confused me regarding the lore.
Did the Maykrs just forget that Hell existed in the first place?
The flashback in Sentinel Prime makes it seem like the Khan Maykr had never heard of demons before.
But TAG establishes that they sealed Hell away.

I believe this to be an indication of the Maykrs' hubris and ignorance.

I started on ITYTD after not playing many FPS' games in awhile. Worked my way through and then halfway raised it to HMP, then after the campaign went back through and did it on UV, then again on Nightmare. Finished TAG 1 and 2... It's cool to see progress happening and I do feel like this is a gr8 game to quickly build it. We're all growing here, keep at it, at your own pace ^_^

Tbh I think ITYTD is a really good way to just get a feel for the game, movement and aim, etc. You'll notice that as you go you'll quickly catch on. My aim was garbage at first too, so I feel ya. It also is easier or harder depending on what you're playing on as far as pc, console, etc.

You get attacked by 2 arachnotrons, then another armored baron. 2 cyber mancs, a pain elemental, 2 hell knights. Then 2 doom hunters and prowlers and then it ends killing any remaining fodder.

But it will just non-stop spawn 4 imps after I have killed everything.

it’s quite common, also enemy capping is a huge issue too, you’ll see a lot of people hook past the pain elemental, but i wouldn’t advise that if you’re not fast enough, because immoran soldiers dont despawn, and that spawn in increments the longer that arena is prioritized ( until the checkpoint is activated )

I think the developers handled Eternal’s story well for the most part. It wasn’t intrusive, and gave decent character motives.
TAG was iffy but I can see what they were trying to achieve. Although I think Samuel and Vega could’ve easily been separate from the Maykrs.

I used to be really iffy about TAG 2’s fluff in particular.

Mainly because we had gotten all of this lore in TAG 1 that didn’t actually matter anymore.

But the more I thought about the twist, the more I liked it.

No Davoth is literally Lucifer confirmed by Hugo, and the seraph texts quote the Bible talking about Lucifer’s dragon form which was for Davoth and davoth was gonna have a dragon phase confirmed by Hugo but due to COVID and the rush for the deadline of the season pass deal and the fact dlc gets less resources than a full game means it was cut along with other stuff so that’s why the final fight was not as good as it could of been.

Davoth made the doom multiverse we know but he was said to do this only after he “passed through the void” and Hugo confirms the mysterious voice who says “NOOOO!” In Urdak is God and he banished Davoth and that’s all we know iirc
