There is an Escalation Enounter in that level, almost like a Slayer Gate. Once you pull the thing with the orb, it will start. After you finish go back to the orb and do the second part of it by pulling again.

Marauders are really weird to me, on one hand, it's cool to have an enemy that can rival Doomguy, and they do provide a neat challenge, but on the other hand, they can be annoying dicks if there's more than one of them or they're buffed

basically there’s a mechanic called foot grabs that gives you enough speed to complete a jump that missed, normally that speed is reset once the missed jump is completed, you may notice it as the mechanic where you almost make a jump but teleport a bit to the surface you were going for, that is not teleportation, that is incredibly high speed that gets reset once it’s completed, but some surfaces in the game ( atlanticas rails being one of these ) lead to this reset not happening, so all that speed is transformed into a boost, it is also frame dependent, more frames more speed, and weapon wheel artificially increases your simulated framerate, so that was used in the boost to give me even more speed, note, a railboost of this caliber is not needed whatsoever in any speedrun ever and is beyond overkill

Ok so basically whenever I try and delete a save file for the campaign, my game freezes up and I have to turn off my pc and force exit the game to get it working.

Also, whenever I try and do UN in campaign, the first room doesnt have any zombies and im soft locked there, but that isnt as important my first issue.

I also have this weird problem where trying to configure my options on the settings screen, doesnt work. I click the different settings you can put, like glory kill highlights etc, but for some reason it just stays the way it is and doesn’t let me change anything

if the slayer is originally the doomguy from 64/og games, how is he already empowered and sealed away prior to the events of nudoom, which depict the demon incursion happening for what seems to be the first time? did he travel back in time, end up in a different universe somehow, or is 2016 set after the prior depicted demon invasions without mentioning them?

I can only speak for my own thoughts, but I like to think of the 90's Dooms as an entirely different story. Romero wanted there to be little to almost no backstory or lore on the original Doomguy, so it's honestly pretty vague and disjointed from the continuation later on. So it's kind of a stretch to connect them imo. I think there's a loose explanation later when it was rebooted but it's like a story of biblical proportions. Loose not as in length, but trying to connect the dots.

Basically, there’s multiple Earths/Universes in the “Doomverse” that exist between Hell and Urdak. Eternal confirmed this for us. Doomguy does some dimensional hopping between the events of 64 and 2016.
When he was excavated from Hell in D2016, he was essentially brought into a parallel universe. So Doom Eternal’s Earth is not the same as the one we see in Doom 2. Same goes for the UAC and Mars.
This upcoming game will help bridge the gap between the classic game’s and modern game’s stories, explaining where he was between D64 and D2016.

It's hard to kill a tyrant with BFG but it is possible, and if you don't kill it the tyrant will still be really low

And you need 17 shots from unmaykr to kill 1 tyrant, while 30 ammo from the BFG kills the tyrant/almost kills it along with the rest of the arena

The unmaykr is just bad compared to the BFG

it’s actually the opposite, the enlarged encounter hitbox didn’t exist initially and the encounter really only did start when the berserk was picked up

the ability to trigger it without picking it up was added later on, which is weird, the latest version that wasn’t current patch that I had this happen on was 5.1

Probably the most important thing to learn:
Do not only use one weapon, like in other shooters.
To get really into it, use ALL of your weapons.

You replenish ammo by chainsawing enemies.
Do not chainsaw big guys, only little fodder demons.
They only consume one chainsaw pip.

Once you run out of chainsaw fuel, it will AUTOMATICALLY AND ALWAYS recharge one pip over time
And as long as bigger demons in the arena, the game will ALWAYS spawn new fodder demons for you!

well, you might wanna weigh your options to a certain degree, because too much damage or damage dealt too quickly can break him out of his falter faster, obviously this might not be a game breaker for something that’s not a speedrun but it may be something to consider, maybe stretching out your damage instead of trying to deal a lot at once could help, perhaps pb ssg could do good

seeing the icons on those slots as well, the current runes you have equipped are “chrono strike” which slows down time when using the same button as your weapon mod. “savagery” which speeds up the glory kill animations. and “equipment fiend” which speeds up the cooldown of your equipment when enemies are killed while that equipment is used on them, it has a hard cap however.
