Because the cooldown is pretty long that it makes you forget about it in the middle of combat

There's also the fact that they sticked with the [Equipment Launcher Key] and [Swap Grenade Types] hotkeys system

instead of just [Frag Grenades] and [Ice Bomb] keys

It was a system brought over from Doom 2016, and was kept on the Quakecon 2018 Showcase of Doom Eternal, since back then the Flame Belch also occupies the Equipment Launcher slot before it was given its own dedicated hotkey

But they forgot to do the same for Ice Bomb for some reason, and never bothered to make the update for it over the course of 3+ years after the game's release

Remember, you can sidestep their forecefield, you needn't waste your blood punch knocking them down, and then you can just let rip with whatever weapon you have equipped, I'd suggest the chaingun personally, since if you're struggling with them, there's a chance that you haven't gotten the Unmaykr yet, although you might have the BFG. You can also use the ice grenade to freeze them and don't forget to flame belch them too. Generally they're not too difficult because they don't move around very much, but don't get too close because they kick.

Yes you can go back to previous parts of the level via the fast travel system. Monsters also don’t respawn if you do this

Just open your map and toggle fast travel by pressing F (or whatever button it’s associated to if you’re using a controller)

They have an ancient cultist base in the north pole (or south?) which was built on top of an old argenta settlement, which means that argenta populations existed there in the ancient past. Also wolves (the animal) are canonically from Argent D'Nur. How it split off from the maykr empire is unknown, persumably happened at the same time as the civil war between the Sentinels

ok that's the difficulty i play at, my trick is just always moving and never stopping, you don't have to particularly care about where you're going so long as you're not getting stuck somewhere. You can practice in empty arenas, figure out how to get from random point A to random point B and get comfortable doing it. Also practice finding secrets, they'll get you used to the movement more

if you don't know how to implement this, simply go into a fight with the goal of just moving, without trying to beat the gate. You'll get better at doing it while enemies are shooting at you this way

I’m not going to tell you what runes told use but I’ll tell you which ones to avoid, don’t use chrono strike, don’t use punch and reave, don’t use seek and destroy, don’t use saving throw ( doesn’t work until all extra lives are used up )

well I mean your play style is your play style and nobodies forcing you to abide by the meta but certain meta strats are like that for a reason, they make things more efficient for the player, chrono strike kinda does nothing when you get down to it, just kind of widens your reaction time by slowing things down, as well as the fact it requires you to come off the ground first and hold down your mod it’s very very situational, punch and reave also kind of does nothing, it’s perk is it gives health from blood punch kills, which already happens, seek and destroy isn’t entirely useless but along with the fact that it’s been nerfed since 2016 and eternal introduced a billion new ways to move, seek and destroys only purpose is to save you a meathook cooldown when you go in for a glory kill far away, but even then the meathooks cooldown is absurdly fast, and the saving throw one was already sort of explained, sort of the same issue as chrono strike as well as the fact you need 0 extra lives for it to work, but it does have the advantage of giving you like a solid amount of times with i-frames

also for seek and destroy especially with fully upgraded fundamentals it’s super obsolete, because you can pretty much close the gap just by double dashing towards the enemy and then glory killing them to get your dash back

Personally I think they could've done a bit more to spice it up.

Add a few more options, like what weapons you start with, being able to play with cheats while not earning points or progress, keep play only to a certain set of maps, maybe also integrate bosses somehow

In Urdak on ancient gods part one the second secret encounter has a bug that if you go to the bridge area and clear everything on that section before activating the button of the laser gate the button bugs out and it doesn´t let you activate it, and it won´t let you unless you reset the mission. when i felt i got good at ultra-violence i just hoped into nightmare and died alot but after a while you will get the hang of it

and watching youtube tutorials for the game will help a lot

yeah I've realized that, when it comes to common demons like mancubi or hell knights I've got a good enough feel for them that I can glory kill them before I see them flashing which is very cool

a few combos i like for heavy demons are: for the cyber mancubi meathook into SSG shot into blood punch, mancubi ballista rocket ballista (or rocket ballista rocket) PB and for arachnotron PB ballista meathook into SSg shot

all of these combos takes the demons to glory kill state

and if you can try to take out their weak points as well
