i have a GTX 1650 and im running 80-120 fps on high graphics

as far as I know it's because they switched their rendering API from OpenGL to Vulkan

and made a bunch of other performance optimization from there

as a side effect, switching to Vulkan makes a bunch of video recording/capture softwares struggle to record Eternal, but as far as I know tweaking the recording software's settings here and there resolves the issue

Hello all. I'm new here. Doom Eternal is such a great game. I started playing about a year ago and grinded away to finally beat campaign on UN then took a long break. Came back a year later and here I am. I beat my first master level on UN today, Super Gore Nest, and what a thrill that was. ID software truly made a masterpiece.

Weird. FPS suddenly goes down to 30-40fps. Found some stuff regarding steam overlay being the cause but disabling/not using it doesn't work, restarted the game/steam. Last time I had it it resolved the next day I think. Anyone experienced this before? Gonna go to sleep now so lets see if this gets "fixed" again tomorrow.

Each of these skins can be earned by completing the various Ancient Gods Part Two levels on nightmare difficulty, aside form the Gold Combat Shotgun, which can only be obtained by completing every challenge on the Super Gore Nest master level.

How do you beat that, it just didn't care for my chaingun shield and i got boxed in by both eyes and all other demons, i fucking hate bosses with other enemies around, it's so bullshit, i can't focus on the main boss if i've got a pinky spawning behind me and one shotting me before i can even jump

i notice that the 2 platform at 2 sides wont fall off

also only after you killl 1 maligog eye that they spawn pain elementals

you can tune all the eyes to 1 hit away ( they take 3 balista shot i think) then finish them quickly. should trivialize the fight

i use arbalest and no they dont heal. you can see their eye glow super red= almost dead

so just keep making all them red and just 1 tap each of them. you will face 1 pain elemental at most that you can chainsaw and done the encounter 👍

I have notarget enabled and disabled it for one second, enabling it again seems to have granted barons and hell knights some sort of weird state where they are idle but will always try to face the player, that screenshot is them turning around to face me

Detonate is good for when you really need a falter or for smaller arenas and clearing imps/smalls

Lock on is good for raw dam

Remote Detonation's faltering is just really unreliable with all the restrictions soft falter has and the damage it does is so piss-poor compared to just firing the rocket normally

Like yeah manually detonating the rocket cause a soft falter, but you know what else causes a soft falter? Dealing damage from the actual rocket itself

When ever I try to falter a demon with the remote detonate I either get hit and die or kill myself cuz I’m to close

Remote Detonate sort of encourages a self-destructive playstyle

where you use rockets as a very unreliable crowd control measure instead of actually using it for damage

Normal Rockets deals 900 damage (direct and splash) while Remote Det only does 600 with the mastery

Once you go past Doom hunter base, it is all about playing careful and knowing how to beat the boss fights.

Skip all encounters and slayer gates too. They are not worth it

Not really, get your milestone and then do another UN run 100% I guess. UN is all about just getting it done once and moving on.

But the ones in the Archie room in TN ML only spawn 3 demon types. It would be actually brutal if they could spawn other demons

Yes sir, so crucible is actually better than BFG in my opinion for that room. 3 crucible charges clear the room. DBlade into slob for the first tyrant, then crucible on the second and the two archies

a fun thing I’ve learned by watching tech videos is you can knock a doom hunter off it its sled with the crucible, and it will consume no ammo, it is referred to as “slash cancelling.”
