No I only do it as challenges for certain master levels and things, doing it in the base campaign sounds annoying, hell on earth would be hard considering unupgraded armor plus no flamebelch, and the fact that you have to go 3 whole hours without messing up meanwhile something like super gore nest ml is just 25ish minutes without messing up

For the Sentinel battery you need to find a crack in the leg of the kneeling statue close by, then you can access a button which opens the gate in front of the hanging thing. You need to smash it, it falls down, and you get the battery

The kneeling statue is on the same floor as the gate which blocks your path. It's inside a wall, like a relief, so you see only the side of the statue and it's not fully to be seen. Not from the front, back, or the other side

Replaying through the game again including the DLC, and I finally realized how weirdly designed TAG2 was as a DLC

In terms of map layout design (not visuals, they really nailed that part), enemy design, and combat design

A lot of arenas and just map geometry of TAG2 just feels waaay too wide and open

For example, the first open snow area of The World Spear was just super unnecessarily huge, like there's no way a player would possibly utilize every single part of an arena this wide.

Though this example in particular doesn't apply for the Master Level as much as the base level, since there is actually a gazillion enemies there, but even then I still think it's a bit too wide.

A lot of incidental and arena encounters also feel so off, it feels like a lot of them have one or two other major enemy of the wave that is supposed to spawn but failed to, so you just left with something like dealing with only one Hell Knight and a zombie.

For enemy designs, I think Screechers are fun additions and Riot Soldiers are okay

For Stone Imps, they definitely tried something like the Spirits and Microwave Beam interaction but I don't think it really works this time since Spirits buffs an already-existing demon and is generally only 1 at a time, while Stone Imps comes in droves.

I installed Konvaz' TAG2 Rework and Horde Hammer mod for this playthrough and I think it really improves the DLC, but even then it still has the issue of super wide map geometry which modders can't really do anything about

Oh and yeah the Hammer, too overpowered since you only need 2 Glory Kills or Weak Points for a charge
Simply increasing it to 4 already makes it miles more balanced

It's weird that the game devs did the requirement increase on Horde Mode but didn't apply it to the DLC for some reason? 🤨

TAG2 is way overhated, i will admit immora is kind of a pushover for the most part but I don’t think that’s a fault of the actual encounters, I think that the levels architecture just doesn’t really support difficult fights, the most memorable part is the double marauder encounter, I don’t know how so many people are forgetting that one

I recommend trying Konvaz' TAG2 Rework Mod, it gives a lot of minor additions and changes to encounters throughout the DLC that goes a long way on making it feel better to play without missing the vanilla feel.

For example, on Immora the final Stone Imps Encounter right at the end of the level is replaced with ||6 Marauders split across 2 waves||

you can use the existing enemy designs to create situations where you can't just be in the enemies' faces all the time

I’d say the arenas that like, you actually fight in are hard but balanced, but the parts where you gotta like… stay in the air with the meathook and fight two possessed pain elementals with a few cacodemons is just kind of gimmicky and felt like ideas were running dry

every 3 months there's events (4 events that rotate each year). each event has levels. play enough to level up. each level has a cosmetic. if you find a collection, basically that has its own level system that you need to level up in to unlock all the cosmetics

I still havnt started the DLC. I have a problem. I get motivated to do it but I restart the game because I want to experience the DLC with all the momentum of the main campaign. I get to midgame and stop playing because life gets busy or stressful 1 way or another and I dont have time to game. Ive done this 4 or 5 times now and am yet to begin the DLCs. Have beat the main campaign though

It’s not a huge deal to have to continue from the end of the base game. You start a new file with a maxed out slayer anyway. Think of it as coming back later for the sequel, you know the ground work is laid, but now you get to experience where the story left off from

The DLCs are 3 and 4 maps so it’s a lot easier to digest. Even still you can pick up where you left off. No need to reset. I get wanted to keep it fresh but if you don’t have time, just do the best with what you have
