Anyone else have no problem fighting Marauders? I remember hearing a lot of criticisms about him being cheap and overpowered, but then I fought him and found he was easier than people were saying he was. Hell, he's easier than some other enemies I actually struggle with.

Were Marauders ever truly broken when the game first came out, or were people just confused about how to handle him?

Man, I always liked this game since it came out, but something about it now is making me really really LOVE it. Ever since I started my educational Hurt Me Plenty run this month, I've had 0 problems redoing entire levels just to collect one or two missing collectibles on my initial completion of that level. And normally I don't care for collectibles unless they contributed to my combat progression, but I'm going all in this time.

When I beat it in Ultra Violence a couple years ago, it was more of a personal challenge to see if I can take on such a feat, especially considering I was an FPS noob back then. Now that I've gotten better at the genre and the entire Doom series in general, I have newfound appreciation for the on that got me into the series in the first place.

So are they really shitty or just disagreeable? Because he sounds fair in Ultrakill, though I'm afraid he may have gone to the dark side of critiquing where the critiques are just unfounded like the ones he's dismantled in defense of Doom Eternal.

Ah I see. Well as far as I can tell, what he suggests for Ultrakill sounds like it would make more sense for the game. But I haven't played it yet so I can't definitively say if what he says would be true. Still, sounds like an exciting game.

DAMN his Ultrakill video has 7.4k dislikes > 1.6k likes. His takes weren't even that extreme or negative 😐 he just made (what sounds to me anyway) good suggestions on how the game can teach its core mechanics at the starting levels better.

If he gets ragey in another video about Ultrakill, then yeah it'd be a terrible fall from grace considering how well he's defended Doom Eternal without being an asshole about all the people he cites with bad takes. But for the most part, he seems and sounds reasonable in his assessments.

just lost an UN run during the duo doom hunters, one was at literally no health, and the other was in a glory kill state, I had dazed and confused as a rune, and I was standing next to the doom hunter that was in a glory kill state, so I used lock on rockets to knock the other into glory kill state so I could back to back glory kill the doom hunters to stop the carcasses and prowlers from spawning, I used the rockets, knocked the doom hunter into a glory kill state, and the one I was standing next to, I went to glory kill, and instead of glory killing it decided to punch it 3 times instead of killing it and it eventually got out of the glory kill state and killed me Instantly. It punched 3 times instead of glory killing. Both of the doom hunters were in glory kill state.

sometimes its best to run from a fight than to face it head on. so dont be afraid if you have to run

its how most peopel survive UN

just keep in mind to hit fodders for health, ammo and everything before fighting a baron of hell

a Double Barrel Shotgun commonly uses 12 gauge rounds. a DBS also can fire only one round and not two per second.
The Super Shotgun instantly fires a 10 gauge which has a wider firing range, being the reason to kill weak enemies like imps in medium/long range.

So here's my takeout on savagery and the other one from far away. I find glory killing a situational state. You don't always want to glory kill. However, if they worked with chainsaw, sure. I think one of them doesn't, and the other one becomes too situational. On the other hand, D&C and Equipment fiend go with the flow of the game. You don't have to seek for conditions to activate if that makes sense. They just always work.
