Yeah I said when you go to Mission Select from the Main Menu or computer console in the Fortress of Doom, you need to press your Chainsaw key and you'll see a screen of floppy disks that represent different cheats. Then you just click them at will for the ones you wanna turn on.

I dunno what it is by default, but for me Chainsaw is R as in Reload 😛 Then for no apparent reason I wanna mention that I set my weapon keys to the way they were in Doom 1993

we don't exactly have lore on the nitty gritty of the slayer's kit, save for doom2016's stuff. I think the best benchmark we could use is what we get from that game, since it goes more into the praetor suit and the weapons and their mods.

Getting through those first 3 levels are kinda hard, they toss a lot of stuff at you and you're underpowered, pretty much 80% of my UN deaths were in Cultist Base

The rest of the game is still hard

im playing on ultraviolence and have maybe died a handful of times, mostly to the doom hunter but fall damage got me once (i hate platforming)

Use plasma gun for the shield, blood punch does lots of damage to the hover thing. Also fall damage is a douche for me as well.

The sounds for the boxes are set to drown out the music for whatever reason.

Like, the game pushes the volume of the music for the fight out of the way so you can hear the boxes. But it's WAY too heavy handed.

No, the problem is that the box sounds specifically cause the music volume to decrease so you can hear them over the music, but the volume reduction on the music is too heavy, and the boxes attack frequently, so that results in the music almost being totally lost.

So I'm gonna say something and I don't need you die hard doom fans to get your pitch forks but the doom slayer got weak in doom eternal, I only noticed that after playing doom 2016 it takes 2 punchs to get an imp into stagger/glory kill mode and 1 punch to get a possessed into stagger/ glory kill mode in doom 2016 but it's like what 6 or 8 for the imp and 5 or 7 for the possessed

How do you guys handle the 5th phase of the Samur fight? Unless I manage to end it very quickly I end up becoming very discombobulated and I lose track of what I should do, and I've never really understood what to really do during that phase or what to prioritize.

I spam lock-on rockets, they are the best course of action for possessed demons. I spam them on the Pain Elemental first since IIRC those deal more damage.

General strategy I use:

1. Use your unmakyr on the pain elemental. It is much more effective than both bfg direct shots. If you make most of your unmakyr shots then you'll weaken it down to a lock-on burst I believe. Not to mention you'll take out whatever lost souls it throws at you.
2. Whenever the blood makyr appears, focus solely on taking it out. Leaving it alive is a huge risk.
3. If you don't have anymore unmakyr, use pb-ballista combos or micro missiles on the pain elemental.
4. When you take out the pain elemental, you can freeze it and use a flame belch to get some ammo. After that, focus on the dread knight however you see fit.
