HMP difficulty is making me angry for two opposing reasons. It’s hard enough I still occasionally die. And it’s easy enough that it lets me completely fuck dog and not put me out of my misery. In both cases it’s just making me feel like I’m bad at the game lol.

You’re also wrong, UN is it’s own category and does not count towards everything else, however, beating SGN ML on regular nightmare will clear everything beneath it, clearing extra life mode on nightmare will clear everything beneath it, and clearing classic mode at all completes it, so you have to play the level a bare minimum of 4 times to get the golden combat shotgun

i havent finished taras nabad yet but i feel like im close at the time i had stopped playing somehwere around a month ago but i remember being stuck on that marauder and died like around 10 times

marauders are easy by themselves but it becomes a big problem when u got other enemies also harassing u while trying to handle a marauder

If you're outdoors in an area with platforms you can manipulate him into jumping onto and off them, which at that point he is completely vulnerable

Just keep moving and deal with the other demons until it’s only the marauder left

there is one fight in the last level with three tyrants and thats harder

His ranged attack is pretty easy to avoid thankfully

thats what i was trying to do but i just get overwhelmed trying to handle these other enemies while also trying to pay attention to what the marauder is doing so he doesnt run up on me and slash me or snipes me with a beam slash

or his ghost doggo gets me

im aware i just need to git gud but i find it hard and overwhelming to memorize all this different stuff i can do in fights and i kind of just tunnel vision into gunplay and evasion

i forget to use my frag/ice grenades sometimes or to utilize some other weapon abilities like the chaingun shield

the one thing i consistently use is the flame belch cuz im always in desperate need of more armor

i did learn a couple new things i can do though like realizing the super shotgun meathook doesnt automatically force u directly toward the targetted demon till it reaches its target so i can use it to slingshot myself forward for more momentum or evasion

god i cant imagine doing this with no deaths the entire game for ultra nightmare

I do have a question about some of the weapon mods though

Are the micro missiles on the heavy cannon any good? I thought they looked like they might kinda suck ass so I got the sniper shot mod first and have been using it a ton through the game and I didn’t get the missiles till my final mod upgrade of the game

If you aren't tho they're very good they gib little demons and they deal a good amount of stagger damage so you can just kinda knock enemies around, it would be a bit better if you had the 2016 rich get richer runes and had infinite ammo

Idk if I’m just bad but I feel like half the weapons seem to have unbalanced mods with one clearly being far better than the other like the sticky bomb shotgun the sniper heavy cannon and the lock on burst rocket launcher as previously mentioned and another one that came to mind was the microwave beam in comparison to the burst wave on the plasma gun

The other mods are still really good if you know how to use them right

Remote detonation is more efficient than lock on if you're quickswapping precision bolt with it, you deal the highest DPS in the game and non-stop stagger enemies

The main issue I have in eternal tbh is ammo capacity is just way too fucking low at the start and even after I get the upgrades I know the gimmick is getting more ammo via chainsawing demons but that’s like the one thing I wish wasn’t a thing in eternal

Only having 8 shells in the shotgun is abysmal

And in comparison to 2016 at least it gave u a pistol with infinite ammo if u somehow ran out of ammo on everything else which never happened to me in 2016 but multiple times in eternal

Chainsaw replenishes 50% of ammo capacity i think. Precision bolt has 30 shots, ballista has 10, RL 13, and SSG 12. That's a lot of ammo. If you are running out of ammo quick it is because youre not managing your chainsaw correctly and probably waiting for the last second once all weapons are empty to refuel your ammo

especially in the DLCs, resource management isn’t even really very hard. once you have everything and all the cooldown sentinel perks or whatever for the grenades, it sometimes feels like you never run out of gas or grenades - they’re always there when you need them

which is why tag 2 suffered even harder because there wasnt enough super heavies to eat your bullets and equipment

i dont stream tag 2 ever because when i do, people scream at me to use it because i forget it exists entirely until the final boss

not even like a “ban” or restriction thing. i just don’t remember that its there because tag 2 is just that easy

If you crash the game with alt F4 it'll send you to the last checkpoint, yeah you can abuse it to beat UN without skill by cheating, but you got glitched so it's really the only way without starting a new run
