ive always liked getting max rank in games, and eternal is arguably my favorite game so i wanna do it justice and hit that max rank 👍 it is insanely long though and i get why most dont see the point in it. plus im doing it pretty much mostly with master level un clears or dlc un clears. i could grind out a bunch of dark lords with cheats on but that feels cheap. but i might allow myself a dark lord clear here and there to speed it up a tiny bit

once you get the crucible, or if you already have it you can crucible slash cancel to destroy their shield. 🙂 go up to them (preferably after a frag or ice bomb to be safe) and hit their sled with a crucible blade but literally RIGHT after pressing attack, press your weapon swap button. it will destroy the sled without taking a crucible charge 🙂

I think weapon swap ballista, SSG, ballista is the best go to until you can master faltering him. Check YouTube for a guide on how to keep him faltered, there’s a few ways. They often involve grenades or shooting him in the back

The "Always keep moving" tip the game tells you a lot is really important in this one. You have to constantly loop around the area of every encounter to stay alive, and don't get greedy trying to get kills bc if you get too focused on killing something youll be in one spot too long and die
Also one thing I realized recently is weapon switching with RB/R1 is useful for slow alternating slow firing weapons to take something down. Been doing it with the sniper shot and super shotgun and it blows thru hell knights.

i dunno what kinda crap machines you're playing on but I have an old PC with 980TI and my Eternal hasnt crashed once, or even became unplayable. I'm doing ultra wide with settings on a mix between Ultra and Ultra nightmare. There are a few spots where it drops but never during combat. It's gotta be one of the most stable games i've ever played

more than if he hits you. So its not really "difficult" per se, you just have to learn the dance and then you can cheese him. Kinda like Skyrim where the higher difficulty doesnt increase how difficult enemies are, only how high their armor points are.

It was surprisingly fun, yeah

Balance wise the best version is No Air Control "Eternal" death match (fodder + chainsaws, rather than classic arena pickups), but all 4 versions are fun

Yeah like I said, it’s too easy but still tedious when you learned the dance. But I gotta say, and this is my opinion from over three decades of gaming (not saying I’m a pro or anything) , that if the only punishment from a mistake at the last boss , supposedly most difficult fight in a game centered around difficult fights, is time, then it’s not a greatly designed boss.

So I’d say that a different approach than just getting to play for a bit longer, would potentially be way more fun and nerve wrecking.

And since the battleground is totally open, nothing really poses a threat/challenge in the way you’d expect. The wolves aren’t even annoying since it’s so open. Plenty of space to kill them. As long as you keep circling and doing jumps and dashes, you’re good. Don’t have to worry about getting fuckedt in the ass from a caco or whatever. And if you do make a mistake, all you lose is some time.

He has a sword but he never waves it around and u never have to read his attacks cause the only ones ur actively searching is when he Shield charges you and his Green light

He doesnt make the player feel like they are loosing control of the situation

when he shield bashes u gives lots of time to dodge

When he tries attacking u with his sword normally the dash easily gets u out of there.

Always thought it was weird how an enemy not called the cyberdemon looks much more like the cyberdemon than the actual cyberdemon boss from 2016 lol

Although in a way I guess it's more fitting cause the cyberdemon showed up multiple times in og doom, it wasn't like a boss type enemy you only fight once

doom 2016's demons are more of the Natural look of the demons. Instead of Metal parts, some will have dead rotting hard skin shelling

why does the game have the tendecy to get fps drops when lots of particle effects appear?

for example, when I freeze enemies and shatter them, all the ice particles cause the fps to tank quite a bit

That’s why changing difficulties, cheating, using Sentinel armor doesn’t affect progression. It’s only on unm such trivial things such as feeling elite matters.

Exactly it’s great. It’s very good that they implement different difficulties etc. many games have “story mode” nowadays ie Ultra easy so that everyone can enjoy a good game without being a pro. Me? I’m just not an animal anymore so I can’t stand trying to master any game on the most difficult setting and getting every secret and collectible etc. I’m 36 and got two kids so my gaming routine has changed a lot since I was a young man.

I do enjoy watching the pros in youtube though.

And Doom has always been that way: ez-mode thru nm.
