That's not how quick swaps really work lol. They're dependent on ammo, enemy position, and just which enemy you're attacking.

Like ssg pb ssg is the go to for Arachs and Mancubi since that kills or glory kills them. But if they're far away pb rocket or pb ballista is probably a safer bet. PB ballista against pain elementals is usually best, assuming you're not just doing lock on burst.

Super heavies never get quick swapped cause there's like 10 different more efficient ways to deal with them than spamming pb ballista or some shit.

And any other non-marauder super heavy is probably just Dblade start -> SLOBS or something.

So My main question is are the DLC achievements, such as "Critical Literature" (Collect all physical Codex pages in a single save slot (Ancient Gods 2)) tied to the base game, or is it just all codex pages in only the DLC? seriously though, i find it comical that the shit that's been a staple at every level of play beyond beginner, since practically day 1 , still gets called "spam", "abuse", etc 3 years post-launch

it's not a fundamental skill sure, but it's undeniably a major pillar of the game

the underlying argument, i feel, is that executional stuff (i.e. "just pressing buttons") is somehow less valuable than something more abstract like good movement or game sense

but both of the latter support the former, and without the former you're still "just pressing buttons" but dealing no damage

and against that you could argue something like "execution but no schmovement or good decisionmaking = death", which is true

but surprise surprise, all 3 support each other

all the optimal ways to deal with shit (detailed game knowledge) require execution to actually utilize, and getting to do any of that shit requires you to get in (good movement + decisionmaking)

calling out LOB or energy shield as busted isn't a big brain take either because they so overtly are, but that's still a hell of a lot better than "making use of finger dexterity = abusing mechanics"

If so, you can actually fire a BFG shot in the direction of the sewer (where the river of toxic water heads), and it will clear the arena. Fire it after you kill the doom hunter and the 2 cacos so when the cyber mancs spawn

Well beyond some basic tips, the level is also fairly generous with its BFG charges, and pick ups, first, there’s a mega armor where the extra life should be, and a mega armor where the zombie toy should be, all in the first arena, and after you clear the carcass/hell knight arena there is a crucible charge where the soldier toy should be, after you complete the specter whiplash and marauder room there will be a megacharge where the rune should be, once you go into the main arena there is a bfg charge where the infinite ammo cheat is, for a bit it is pretty barebones, but in the toxic sludge room where you fight two tyrants there is another crucible charge where the sentinel battery usually is, after that you should go into an arena where you are greeted by a pain elemental, behind him is a megacharge, once you descend into the arena ( the one right before you acquire the red key ) there is a bfg charge where the revenant toy usually is, shortly after you should find yourself back in the outside area, where there is another mega armor where the record usually is, also in the room with the quad damage you aren’t forced to pick it up so you could theoretically use it on the marauders, after that you should be back at the main and final arena, where there is another bfg charge, right near where the buff totem is, hope this helps!

Doom 2016 alludes to the Betrayer, specifically that he was a Night Sentinel who betrayed the Sentinels in return for his dead son's revival, and that said son became the Icon of Sin.

It was pretty vague about it though- until Eternal's release, there are a good amount of Doom fans who believed Doom 2016 was a hard reboot, and that the Slayer's backstory was that he was the Betrayer, eternal wrathful because of Hell's treachery in manipulating him.

Eternal, obviously, disproved that theory by showing us the Betrayer as a separate man named Valen, and the Slayer's confirmation as the original Doomguy.

As the others said, the Betrayer's actions fucked over the other Sentinels and Doomguy. By this point in the Argenta's history, they were enbroiled in a war against Hell (which they were winning), as well as a civil war amongst themselves. Half of the Sentinels had realized the Maykrs were working with Hell and consuming their souls through Nekravol, but the other half either refused to believe this or had accepted it and were okay with it.
The Deag Priests feigned loyalty to the Insurrectionists (Doomguy and the Betrayer's side), but were in reality loyal to the Khan Maykr. Deag Grav approached Valen in secret and offered his "deal", and Valen relented.

If not for the Betrayer's stroke of madness the Wraiths power would still be our own, and the Sentinel flag would still rise above Argent D'Nur to this day.
Valen's betrayal was leading the enemy to the Wraiths. So by doing so, he allowed the Icon of Sin to be revived, as well as permanently tipped the scales of the civil war in the Loyalist Sentinels' favor, as well as got the rest of the Night Sentinels sans the Slayer killed.

i'll wager that the low framerates are caused by your system being incompatible with vulkan, and not horrifically bad optimization

2077 runs on dx12, 2016 gives you a choice between opengl and vulkan

eternal only has vulkan

the integrated graphics using regular ram in lieu of vram might have something to do with it then

both 2016 and 2077 use texture atlasing, i.e. they're able to apply a super low quality "blanket" of textures on everything as soon as a level is loaded

then they'll pull in higher quality textures, "chunks" from higher quality versions of the atlas as the game demands them

eternal does no such thing, instead each object has its own texture, all of which has to be loaded in separately

what's your texture pool size set to?

in theory the amount of memory you have is fine, but issues might arise from textures being pushed to the same place as everything else that the game would temporarily store

said memory also being used for the entire system's needs

It probably can on lower graphs and low fps which is not an enjoyable experience. If a laptop isn't really made for gaming, it is not worth using it for that. If you have some money and want something better than the switch, I'd definitely recommend the steam deck.

But doom still gets pretty wacky with physics, like sometimes you’ll accidentally launch yourself into the stratosphere by just dashing at a weird angle

Not to mention the enemies are faster, and your meathook acts more and more like a slingshot the higher the framerate

Yeah. Eternal actually has lower movement speed than 2016, but it has a shit-ton of options to increase mobility. They're just not dependent on running.

It's why the game doesn't really pick up until you've got the Meathook IMO. That and the dash are essential to Eternal.

No. Was on the ARC Carrier in TAG 1 and pressed tab which opened the codex. For some reason the FPS dropped but only when I moved my mouse. Besides that it runs fine. First time I ran into it. Doesn't really matter since I don't use the codex anyways, im just curious
