The other day I tried that on HMP to see if it would be easy. I didn’t die until I got to those Marauders. I’ve beaten the level on NM but those marauders took me out on HMP.

I could live with the Double Marauder fights. The first Double Archvile was easy because they were so close so I could literally just Ice Bomb + Chaingun the first one and then Double Grenade + Lock On the second one.

But the second fight.. ugh. Like, you kill the first Archvile pretty easily, and then you turn around because you know there's a second Archvile because you've done this before and all of a sudden it's like

It's just that last room that I really hate the most. Why in the name of the Hek Knight is it a good idea to throw like twenty superheavies in one room.

Like, it's not even the Tyrants, or the Doom Hunters, it's the Barons that you also have to fight at the same time

And of course, because I couldn't forget, there's a Triple Doom Hunter Fight in that room with the pistons that you climb to get to the BFG

What I will say though is that archviles are under-utilized

the layout is better than alot of arenas in other master levels, though

so it's easy if you kill everything as intended

Just remember not to get caught up on just switching fast. Being obsessed with that. It'll get you killed. Know your arena and what's near by use your combos when you can. You'll want to practice with 2 swaps at first until you get it down and then after that add more and so on

I have encountered the marauder and I don't see why people hate him so much the marauder is well not easy but a straightforward exercise to take down. The archvile on the other hand seems to take a bfg 9000 round every time I encounter it before it finally dies and stops summoning demons. It feels like a mad dash to find and kill it before it summons too many demons for you to deal with.

But in most encounters after that it just feels like too much to manage. Especially since you have to stop moving in a very movement based shooter. He’s also pretty buggy sometimes. Archviles can be just as annoying but they feel way more fair to me.

The term might actually be Margin for Error. Meaning they don’t let you get away with anything less than perfect game play. This early in the game, mostly unarmed, that’s unfair.

BFG the two arenas with Archies. You recover BFG ammo in the BFG area (after they give it to you). From there, I personally use 1 BFG on the double marauder because I hate how boring they are. Save last shots for the final arena. Crucible in the fog arena.

The story doesn't have to be that complex to be good like lord of the rings or some shit. They had hell a realm that likes to devour other worlds. Very basic premise that doesn't have to be expanded but explored upon.
