right click, click properties, go to compatibility, check run as admin, if that does not work turn on compatibility mode and set it to windows 10. I am unfamiliar with windows 11, but thats how you do it in windows 10 and I don't really expect it to change that much.

But here's a fun challenge I'm going to try to beat SGN ML on NM immediately after beating it in the main campaign!

So no BFG, no crucible, partially upgraded suit, no maxed out chaingun shield, and no maxed out precision bolt. This should be fun lol

That is a good plan but only if you're going from UV to NM, which I hope you are. Not to mention how dying too much causes burnout. The most important thing to preserve or develop isn't skill, but rather the love you have for a particular game. Burnout kills that and makes it into a dislike.

Just hop onto a level and try to get hit as little as you can; set double dashes to manual input and utilise the meathook more; I'd recommend you focus less on the enemy and more on evasion.

Also this might just be another one of those 6000 hour andy tips, but please don't grind too much. You'll eventually reach a point where all fun is squeezed out and you'll be faced with a wall that prevents you from getting better, ie becoming one of the top players. Crossing the wall is harder than anything you'll encounter and you will never be satisfied with your performance.

DE has several legs up on it in regards to enemy composition, mixing and matching, pressuring the player, etc

That is exactly my thought as well, I simply recommended him a game that I thought he'd like as a DE player. The speed of the game means nothing to me unless the enemies can match and counteract the speed, and I find that DE's AI does that better than UK's AI.

When I first beat SGN ML on NM, I had a fully-upgraded slayer and it took me 5 hours. On this run, I did it in 2 hours. Only this time:

-I didn't have super weapons
-Only the DB, SSG, and Lock-On were mastered.
-No rad suit upgrade
-No ice bomb upgrades
-Only had the scatter bombs upgrade for frags (and a few other suit upgrades).

Doing master levels midway through the campaign is more interesting imo

Just try and kill all the archviles
If you want you can use bfg to stun the first few that spawn, then use ice bomb and go ham on em

Also just try not to get tunnel vision and be aware of your surroundings, kinda like you would regularly do

Also for the last part of the mission when you destroy the heart and the self destruct starts, equip your chaingun and use the shield

The issue is the skill ceiling difference

If a bad slayer fights bad demons it's fun, if a p good slayer fights p good demons it goes to the slayer and so it's a weird balance

Sometimes you get a pairing where the match feels fair but that's only like 25% of the time for me

With 20% of the 75 being God tier demons being invuln half the round with amazing shield use and maneuvering and the other 80 is first day on the game

good slayer versus a revenant and marauder = ez win for the slayer because quickswap just demolishes them

but with an archvile and pain elemental, they can use shield and hide to be invuln half the round and get an easy win

The arc complex master level seems like what the regular level should have been (except for the room after falling down a few flights and the parking lot).

Given the arsenal you have up until that point in the game, it's more than feasible.

Also: khan is excellent slob training opportunity.
Pb rl slob slob is just right damage to erase her health bar.

You'll also get precision training from the drones

Or even if they weren't the game has no parameters for AV spirit buffs by default so it would just be a blue glowing regular arch vile.

Yes yes it can be killed in a second if you know how but being able to erase AVs quickly is pretty crucial.
A buffed AV would easily be more tedious than challenging.

Depends on encounter design though, a lot.

However a spectre AV could be interesting...
Harder to detect and since it's spectre you can't lock on or meathook.
Could be immune to ice bomb too but on the other hand that's not in line with other spectres

That's pretty normal imo, I play notably worse for a bit if I switch keyboards.
Takes a while to adjust

Not different as such but AI reaction speed is largely affected by frame rate too

And projectile speed I think, too

So on PC at high frame rates the AI "works" faster than say on Switch at 30 fps

I experimented running the game on PC at 30 fps and the difference was really obvious

Still, the advantages of high frame rate (less input lag, more momentum gained from meathooks etc, faster swap speed) outweigh the cons

Also I wanna say the dread knight and hell knight "magnetism" at high frame rates has been improved?
They no longer slam you from across the room

Based on my experiment, idk if consoles have some kind of slight added delay for AI in addition.
But the AI logic is the same I trust.

Yeah and honestly, having enemy aggressiveness slightly tied to frame rate, not a bad way of "compensating" for lower frame rate or controller inputs.
Even if the effect is likely unintentional.

Well until 5 minutes ago, I was struggling to fight a swarm of Cybers and a swarm of Cacos. Both have ranged attacks that are a bit more negligible on UV. Also my style is to close the distance which is a bad strat for Cybers

Meathook in from above (jump first), when you are close ssg + blood punch. That should stagger a cyber. Glory kill or finish with ballista.

I used to fire a bfg shot after the cacos spawn in.
Fire it across the arena and it may kill the pe's too

Either way the trigger for the next wave is after you kill 2 cybers

You don't need much aiming with the ssg and as long as you are not on the ground while approaching the cyber won't do the ground slam so you can fire the ssg point blank

Also if it's easier you can do bp+ssg(+bal) but you forfeit one falter that way

Ssg + bp gives you a soft falter (damage) + hard falter (bp)

So the cyber is essentially stunlocked

I like how effortlessly you combine / alternate between movement and weapon combos.
That's something I need to work on still.
If you want a suggestion from me try varying your combos a little based on enemy, should help with ammo efficiency too.
Like I find rocket or ssg combos wasteful against revenants, easy to miss or reduced damage.
Still you are a better player than me so what you are doing clearly works
