If you're in the air all the time, Dblade should be easy to use. Dblade doesn't let you move fast (so you can't reverse your momentum in the air necessarily) but it doesn't halt your momentum either. On older patches, Unmaykr worked with Overdrive so it was good with that. I think 3.2 was the patch that removed that. They never addressed whether it was a bug or not so we're still left wondering whether it was a bug that got patched, or if it used to work intended but now is bugged

I like how you can turn Eternal into Classic Doom by combining the "DOOM Classic" render mode, the "Classic Weapons Sound Pack" from the Deluxe Edition of the game, the "Classic Doom Marine" skin that you can unlock through the main campaign, and the "Classic Combat Shotgun" weapon skin that you can get through the "Rip and Tear Pack" DLC.

the triggers arent as smooth so its not registering my scoping in for stickey bombs
its not as comfortable

Also, I just got the Deluxe Edition of Eternal the other day for my birthday despite already owning the base game since it includes the DLC (which I didn't have yet) because it was on sale for less than the DLC lol

Which is great because there was no way in hell I was gonna buy the Deluxe Edition otherwise just so I could get the Classic Weapon Sounds (which I REALLY wanted).

you can look up a guide, or frequently open the map and get the praetor upgrade that reveals the location of every item on the auto map if you don't feel like using a guide and want to find them yourself

I WISH Doom 1 had the SSG

The only way to get it in Doom 1 is through mods or by entering a level password in the PS1 version of Doom.

The thing is, even though the SSG is broken and would absolutely TEAR through Doom 1 if it were in that game, I personally wouldn't care because the amount of dopamine that gun generates in my brain when I use it is unmatched.

i beat doom eternal without losing a single extra life while playing extra life mode, ended the run with like 50

Playing the game on nightmare difficulty really showed that I’m actually not good at the game lol

You have to be much tighter with quick swapping, movement etc

Yeah after doom hunter base, pretty much everything felt like a breeze on ultra violence

In addition, you need to know combos to weaken, falter, and kill heavies and super heavies quickly.

I played ultra violence for one mission before deciding to switch to nightmare. high stakes all of the time lol

But man was it a really good learning experience and steep learning curve.

After my second NM run, I could feel myself making plenty of mistakes that weren’t punished too harshly. The base game won’t ever be hard enough. Not vanilla anyway.

the campaign on nightmare could be a lot harder but adjusting up from the lower difficulties without playing mls nor dlcs feels just right
