the combo structure gets static and boring. yeah there's an illusion of depth because certain weapons get their damage scaled based on what you're shooting at, so getting optimal damage on a given enemy is just a matter of looking at the damage spreadsheet.

but in the end every combo is some minor variation of (optional falter at some point) -> do enemy-specific 1-3 weapon combo without getting hit -> kill

there's so many tools that allow you to fuck up horrifically but live for practically free

I have found 2 different bugs in 2 different Doom games by complete accident today. In Doom 3 I got a glitch that trapped me walking in place after a fight, and just now in UAC Atlantica I was in a fight where a tyrant drops in but I didn’t realize I was sitting at his spawn, he spawned in front of me and just dropped dead instantly before I even had time to react. Before going into hardware. A few things to try first. But u need to give details on your specs.

It could be one of the issues listed bellow.

1. Drive with game imay be faulty or filesystem corrupt.
   a- open command prompt as administrator. Type the following
   chkdsk /f d: (replace D: with drive letter of whatever drive thr gane is on. If its on drive C, put C:) you will be asked to run the checkup after a reboot. Choose yes. Restart the PC and Do not lress any key. It will check your drive for errors. If u have no errors after the scan then try next suggestion. If you Do see errors, chkdsk will try to repair them all. After it repairs them, uninstall the game and install it again.
   b- download hwinfo64 and install it. When you open it, it will open up 3 windows. In the smallest window, it should list your hard drives. If you see a yellow triangle with an exclamation mark, something may be wrong with that drive.
   Send a screenshot if that is the case and we can help further.

2. Bad ram or bad ram settings in bios (wrong timings or voltage etc)
   a- download memtest64 and run that application for 5 minutes. If it shows any number of errors, you could have bad ram or wrongly configured ram (we will need more detail on your setup to help with that)

3.Graphics drivers need to be updated.
Instructions on updating graphics drivers depends on what GPU u have. We don't know specs so if u don't know how to update them let us know what GPU u have

4. Powersupply showing age (bad caps).
   This one is allot more common than people think. Very hard to diagnose without having another power supply.

GPU or CPU Temps too high or rising up too fast indicating inadequate cooling. If the game isn't demanding enough u may never knowif u have this issue.

Absolute worst case. Bad GPU. Download and install msi afterburner. Open it and look for the slider for gpu memory clock. Note the current memory clock speed. Set it to half the current gpu memory speed and apply. Run the game. If the game works no issues (may run slower), that means u have a bad card. If it cuts off the same. Well. Back to square one. Can literally be bag gpu and everything else I mentioned above or more lol

Unless you have fairly small fingers. You should be able to keep your thumb on the joycon and use the meat of the thumb to hit buttons on dpad

Not if you do it while you're in the air. Takes time to get used to it, but you also don't swap grenade very often since the ice bomb is used only for specific things

Yep, I agree. Grenade change is on the least important side of actions when playing on controller. I always use it on Dpad without issues. It does take time to get used to it though

And then I just run around in circles doing hit-and-run on them

Hold the third one with microwave beam and then hit it with SSG and frags. Rinse and repeat until it dies (if you got no more rocket)

It's called "SLOBS". If you do Precision Bolt - rocket - lock on with certain timing, the lock on will have two abnormal properties:

The lock on will not break even if looking completely away from the target
Each lock on burst will recover faster than normal, losing you to shoot rockets faster.

The 1 cycle you're talking about is:

Stun Marauder with PB
Imediately start firing frag while swappong to rocket to shoot rocket and start SLOBS
I believe you need to do a 2nd frag, but then you do SLOBS

There's another 1 cycle that doesnt use SLOBS. You start with Arbalest and as soon as the Arb hits you fire 2 frags and swap to lock on to do 2 lock ons.

So for SLOBS you need to be able to do fast PB Rockets to get the timing. So I'd recommend you do a precision bolt shot, hold left click but let go of right click (or whatever shoot and mod button are for console) and swap to rocket. That'll give you the fastest time for PB Rocket specifically.

Once you get that timing, you can work on trying to add lock on after. I'd recommend maybe trying it on a Tyrant (fastest one to get to would be the Nek1 Tyrant) and doing it until you get the faster lock on bursts

I normally spam left click after the lock hits but I believe because Doom Eternal is a flawless bug free game the SLOBS fire on their own if you do it right

That's part of why SLOBS sorta works. It seems like the actual "lock on" happens faster than normal, which... For lack of an understanding under the hood, "fucks shit up"
