you fight a big, grotesque lovecraftian creature as a boss. It looks corrupted, decayed and alien, yet somehow familiar.

After you defeat it you unlock the codex entry for it. It tells how that ancient creature was from another time and place and not much is known of it, apart from UAC studies suggesting it was referred to as a "seraphim" (or smth similar)

There, tie / reference / link to what was before but in the new context. Since Doom went fantasy already then go all from software too, dropping such hints and links between games

Word of advice i usually give is two things:

If you're using wrist for aiming/mouse movement id highly recommend starting to learn arm instead.

And when figuring out your sensitivity, I recommend that you get your sensitivity so that if you put your mouse on the left side of your mousepad, and drag it all the way to the right, you do a full 360

This way you know exactly the distance needed for a 180 turn, 90 degree turn, and everything in between

I do a sight test. Find some distinct objects. Maybe 2 or 3. Use your stick to swing to one target to the other and shoot them. Just quickly. If you're swinging and over shooting then the sensitivity is to high for you at the moment. If you're swinging and you feel the response time to the target is to slow bump it up. Do this until you feel you have a sweet spot. For me it's 85 77

there's a point where your wrist is physically incapable of making precise enough movements at a high enough rate to aim consistently, i'd call that too high a sens

there's also a point where your arm is incapable of making large enough movements to react to things happening near the edges of your vision/behind you without risking a dislocated shoulder, i'd call that too low a sens

find a spot inbetween that feels comfortable when making any kind of aiming movement, then make sure your sitting posture and mouse grip are consistent

I feel sensitivity is a very individual thing. There isn't one type of sensitivity that will make you a better player. You need to adjust it and when you find your own sweet spot that's the sensitivity you should use

Like Ice Bomb as a "get out of jail free card" is neat, but I think it speaks to the design of it that you can use it as a panic button reactively, OR you can proactively use it to increase damage against necessary targets.
