I got a notification at the end of April saying the label was created but from the UPS status it looks like it has never shipped. so I looked through most of the problems and fixes shown in the official list but I cant find my issue with Doom TDA, many models (usually environmental) have missing textures and completely appear as if I were going out of bounds in a classic doom game. if anyone else has this issue and may have found a fix then let me know

If you're repairing it on Xbox app do it in the actual settings app go to your installed apps and then look for doom TDA then repair it in there and if that doesn't work you need to try clicking reset but I got it to work with just repair

Also click to cancel the update it doesn't actually uninstall the game, I tried and it keeps all the files installed don't ask me why but it just does

Basically what’s happened is that whatever Bethesda account your steam is linked up to is of course not the Bethesda account you’re actually using. It probably was created with your steam account with a previous Bethesda title.

That happened to me with doom eternal. I ended up redeeming some skin codes on a new Beth. Account I created for the dark ages only to realize that my steam account was linked to this old Bethesda account created from eternal

Unfortunately you’ll have to wait for support to fix that up with you. I’m waiting too lol

You won’t lose your premium content when they unlink your steam from that Bethesda account that is not active for you.

I think you only lose data if there was or is anything on that Bethesda account.

I think your data should be fine ye. When you played doom eternal a Bethesda account was actually created for you (using ur steam credentials I think).

As long as all ur new data, like ur Nvidia skin and such, if that was redeemed on ur new Bethesda account
When they help you link ur steam to that new Bethesda account you should get access to your skin there

Hey guys, 4060 mobile on a 12700h here, The game wont go past 20fps in any configuration, from low to ultra, and various resolutions.
The gpu does not go past 20% usage. there is something very odd here. Disabled internal gpu, updated drivers, rolled back drivers, disabled gsync, disabled reflex, nothing helps.
Any ideas?

Cancel the update and it works fine it doesn't uninstall the game but if it gives you an error saying you need to repair it go to your actual settings> installed apps> advanced options and click repair in there and if that doesn't work just click reset and that is what got it working for me

I was having the issue with Steam where the game would launch, I'd have audio and no window at all. Tried everything recommended. What finally got me going was going in to Doom properties, through Steam and entering +com_skipIntroVideo 1 +r_mode -1 +r_customWidth 1280 +r_customHeight 720 +r_fullscreen 0 in the additional launch options bar. Once I did this I was able to start the game normal without the startup command. You supposedly alternatively use the command +com_skipIntroVideo 1 but I didn't try that one

open the powershell / CMD

Type:

cd "C:\XboxGames\DOOM- The Dark Ages\Content"

and then launch the game with this line :

dont forget to go on settings after you launch the game and put your game in borderless instead of fullscreen

Same here, my approach to fix this would had been to somehow revert the settings to default, but idk how. I tried to delete all the config files and redownload them to create new ones. Of course I disabled Steam's cloud saving to not redownload the config with framegeneration on. Thus so far nothing had worked.

While this may sound really dangerous to some people, i already did that on some games and it worked

its a simple tool that shows you the incompatible vulkan layers on your pc and offers you to solve the broken ones

By pressing [d] you can nuke the bad layers and play the game just fine, no need to restart the computer (although its recommended)

make sure you have the updated gpu drivers, and make sure your problem is not related with 2 GPU drivers

Holy shit, I figured out my problem.

If anyone is having problems with a black screen and audio with a visible mouse. You can play the game HOWEVER without FSR or DLSS

To do this you can just go into:
Content>amd-ffs
Content>streamline>production

And remove either of these folders out of the game folder depending on what you're using.

I have Gamepass Ultimate and installed Doom: The Dark Ages through the Windows "XBOX" Application... I'm now attempting to point my "Battle.Net" Launcher (Using the, "Already installed? "Locate the game.", B-Net Launcher link, under the "Install" button) to the installation folder , but it keeps saying that, "This folder doesn't contain the correct version of the game. Please check the installation path and try again."

I have made sure to update the game to the latest version in the XBOX (PC) game launcher & have had my XBOX & Blizzard Accounts successfully linked together for a while (~2+ yrs). Also, I have tried many directories (on the off chance that it was looking for a sub-folder); but nothing is working.

Any assistance with linking this would be greatly appreciated.

(I also installed the latest AMD Adrenalin Edition Drivers v. 25.5.1, Dated May 10th, 2025 ...Installed last week (The correct way, in Windows Safe Mode, Running DDU, Rebooting to Base Video, then Installing the new drivers.)

I know that the game has (red) blockable and (green) parry-able/reflect-able projectiles. Perhaps you are using Block instead of Parry? I'll have to get to that 2nd part to be able to know for sure.

I've been trying to play doom the dark ages but no matter what settings i use, no matter how many times i use ddu and no matter what launch options i add to the game on steam, it keeps lagging. When im in the menu the game can stay at 90fps no problem, but when i go in game its always below 50fps and the more i play the lower the fps seems to go and at some points it just ends up hitting 30 fps or less. Ive tried setting different refresh rates and different resolutions but nothing seems to work.
my specs are: Rtx 5070 ti, Ryzen 7 5700x, 16gb ram. Not running any overclock and the 5070 ti is brand new

Try running it in Compatibility Mode for Windows 7 or 10. Also, I'd check to see if there are any updated Audio chipset drivers for your Make/Model/Revision of Motherboard

Of course you are... but you can Right-Click the Shortcut and "Force" it to run in an older Windows Kernel

I personally use VirtualBox, Free, Open Source VMware, and open older games in a Windows 7 Pro VM

Of course, that may be overkill and you may only have to either update your drivers (most likely audio) or change a few settings in the old DOOM (2016 version's) *.ini / *.cfg file.

i've been having an issue since launch, when i play doom the dark ages on my pc it tends to crash after playing like 10-15 minutes, it is random though, for instance it can be immediately after loading the save, ive tried changing the dlss option to another or deactivating it, disabling the integrated graphics card of my amd cpu (since i have a nvida graphics card and support reccomended doing that), putting the game on administrator mode (this solution doesnt even let me open the game so i reversed it), i verifed the game files, also didnt work, and i tried updating/ reinstalling the amd and nvidia drivers to no abail, and im kinda tired of finding solutions at this point

and then launch the game with this line :

Can someone help me understand game mechanic, in the DOOM THE Dark Ages game there are tutorial screens of "parry" of projectile attack/hell surge saying that it will accelerate your melee strikes recharge BUT there is question does it apply for every melee weapon type (there are 3)??? Because for example for the first one, "Gauntlet" tutorial screen does not say that "Parry" accelerates recharging, but tutorial screens of Flail or Dreadmace say EXPLICITLY that it accelerates, so my question does this ALSO apply for Gauntlet as well? I just want confirmation, thanks. For DEVS I would recommend say it a bit more explicitly on tutorial screen of Gauntlet the same way you did for other melee weapon types.

if you have a good rig then your graphics aren't the issue for the most part, it's just performance and lack of memory to run the game it sounds like. if somehow this is not the problem, turn every setting on low, see if it crashes, and if it doesn't, increase each setting one by one, play a couple minutes, rinse and repeat until your game does crash.

That's so odd. I tried all the different upscales and none of them looked better than native to me.. all the upscaling has different types of noise. Lego AA, blurriness on thin lines, ghosting, trailing, flickering, slow refreshes for environment ambient occlusion- especially when in dialogue where it cuts back and forth

That’s very much not true. Ai upscalers could be more accurately called ml or machine learning upscalers.

What doesn’t know anything are primitive upscalers. Old school stuff like bilinear, trilinrsr.

Fsr 1 and dlss 1 were also like those. These kind of upscalers are called ‘analytical upscalers’. Basically they only see the image and try and add information afterwords. That’s why they frankly are not very good. Hence why dlss 1 and fsr 1 were not very good.

They were basically sharpening filters.

Ml or ai upscalers use game data like motion vectors to add information much more accurately. They are not looking at the image but the code like that.

The truth is even at native 4k games will have artifacts. Upscaling will remove some artifacts and introduce others.

Dlss quality most of the time looks better than native and there usually very little reason not to use it.

And if you don’t want to there also DLAA which is just instead of upscaling the image it just uses dlss for anti aliasing. It’s by far the best anti aliasing. The image still runs native

You're forced to choose an upscaler. TAA. DLSS. FSR. XeSS.

Some people prefer the normal game artifacts to upscaling artifacts but it’s uncommon. Most of the anti upscaling is either 1) just backlash from upscaling for whatever reason it’s hard to beleive you can make 1080p look almost as good as 4k and 1440p better than 4k

3. abusing or improper use of upscaling. The key to upscaling is internal resolution.

If you have a high output resolution like 4k you don’t need thst high of an input, 1080p or above is fine.

But 720p to 4k is gonna look bad

But a lower output like 1440p or god forbid 1080p you both need a much higher internal resolution and often you should just run at a lower resolution no upscaler.

Easily DLSS. Also TAA isn’t an upscaler but an anti aliasing technique. Their is TSR which is epics version of ai upscaling.

In terms of image quality it’s: 1) TSR 2) dlss 3) XeSs 4) FSR 4 5) FSR 3.1 and 2 6) any of the idler stuff like fsr or dlss 1, bilinear etc.

However I would still use DLSS over TSR. Consoles mostly use FSR 2 due to Amd hardware, although recently some games like stalker 2 have used TSR for upscaling

Anything from a small issue with the rt gi to maybe self casting shadow is adjusting the singer lighting shows up.

Since if you stand over a light for bladder you get the more snacks huh case. This hypothesis I have is supported by how I’d oh move to the right it becomes dimmer on the right side due to the light. This is accurate lighting.

The shadow? Keep in mind just bc it’s rt doesn’t mean it’s perfect. And often rt doesn’t mean better. It’s not that uncommon for cube maps or even ssr to look better than rt since real life doesn’t always look best.

Rt also can introduce a lot of noise and artifacting. Just like any technique rt has its own artifacts it introduces. That’s what dlss 3.5 day reconstruction was about. It fixed most of the rt striating while also significantly increasing performance.

I’m trying to see what you mean. It can be hard to tell what comes from what. Can you describe it in more detail please?

at first i also thought it could be something like that, but when playing around with the res-scale (turn on: 0.5x scale) i get around 5ms waiting time out of the cpu -> increasing to 37 ish fps.
but remember: a nearly 10 year old i5-4690k got 70 with around 18ms waiting time on cpu

Then I saw something randomly about setting games as priority. I finally got it figured out and it worked for Overwatch 2 with the same guides cause all I messed up on for doom was the Capitalization of the letters. Best way is flash windows to a usb. It’ll be bootable. So you just boot the usb from your bios. And then just go thru the installation screen. You’ll eventually come across a driver selection page and here you can wipe your drives, then select one to install windows too. I just prefer clean installs that way over resetting windows thru the settings lol.

Xbox series x: Have an issue where the audio gets gets kind of muted when I get into a fight on dark ages. I'm using a home theater system. As soon as I get out of a fight it goes back to normal. Hey all, running into a weird one. Game ran perfectly fine and I was able to 100% the first 20 missions on ultra violence without a single crash. Running it on a 3090/ 12th gen i9. Crashed in the middle of Mission 21 on my first death P2 bossfight. Ever since, all other maps work but it crashes every time I try to load Mission 21. I've validated the game files via steam, re-installed drivers, rolled back drivers, re-installed the game, downloaded and installed on another device (tried 2 dif nvidia drivers there too), tried multiple video settings (frame caps/resolution), difficulty changes, nothing worked so far. Wondering if my save is toast but also heated if so since I 100 percented every map up to 21 =. I've submitted the crash dumps to bethesda support but open for any other ideas while I wait for their response.

I mean the specific mission challenges that are found on another tab of the menu, they are kind of hidden, there are usually 3 per level (from mission 4 onwards I think), for example one mission has one called "Ghost Buster - Parry Revenant Projectiles 0/3". If all 3 challenges are completed, and you have collected all the collectables then I am out of ideas.

Like I Said, I Killed the boss, consumed the Heart for the max ammo Upgrade, restarted because my shield was invisible, redid the boss and it didnt gave me the Upgrade again because I already had it on me. But in the collectible/mystery tab for this Chapter it said 0/1 for the Upgrade, it’s just Not working properly due to my Restart I think, idk.

I did all challenges, found all mysterys, Boss Upgrade (except 1, due to being bugged) , Gems, etc.

Just got dark ages on pc, tried different modes, restarting game & computer, etc. When i get weapon drop 1, i see the yellow highlighted box on the drop, but there's no button to open it, nor does it prompt it.

"G" is the default Use key. If you stand in front of the weapon drop and try that, or check your keybinds for Use. That said whatever key you have bound should appear. Unless it's totally unbound somehow.

I have an issue with launching doom eternal. When I launch it from steam the intro plays , then I se teleporting in the left corner and then the screen hangs but the music continues. I can alt tab out. I tried doing the usual stuff: driver clean install, run game in borderless window etc and also contacted Bethesda support. They couldn't fix it.

Hey everone, I don't really use discord that often but I'm a long time fan of the series and a huge completionist of the games. I'm trying to make my voice heard by the developers. My issue is some of the exclusive skins for the Dark Ages. While Eternal had a lot of these too, they were all optainable worldwide and the most costly ones where twitch prime drops witch weren't much anyways. The Dark Ages has 2 skins very hard to obtain. The Ranger Slayer skin is locked behind a Pizza place menu that only people in one of the 4 States in America can get. Thank God through someone that lives in one of these places I managed to get that skin unlocked and now I have only ONE skin left to complete my collection and that is the Legionery Skin that's locked behind a 2000 dollar GPU bundle that is also limited to 666 copies. I feel like this is so unfair for dedicated fans like me who wants to complete their collection. I want the developers to hear my plea and release these hard to get skins as add-ons down the line like they have done with the Twitch Prime drops and even the monthly series in Eternal. I can rest easy if I can hear a confirmation from them. I have no idea if this is the right place to write all of this but, what is the best way for me to make my voice heard?

I have a 6900 XT and i can NOT get past chapter 19 where the 2 mancubuses spawn without crashing, worst part is, my entire drivers crash and i get a driver timeout and it's ONLY in that area, i can play every other area of the game fine, but it crashes right then and there every single time
doesn't matter what settings i use, i tried from the lowest to the max graphics settings as well, tried streaming on discord, without streaming on discord, it ALWAYS crashes

I'll be as concise and short as possible.

1. GPU is RTX 2060
2. I get "Unknown Error" message upon boot up of Doom DA.
3. I looked at the settings and noticed my VRAM numbers are in the red.
4. I lower every conceivable setting and get those numbers down to orange.
5. The game will only allow me to play the 1st level. I cannot continue because the game will crash and boot me upon completion of the 1st level.

Doom The Dark Ages

Hello,

I'm experiencing an issue related to collecting a health upgrade item in the Ancestral Forge map. In the video I recorded, you can see that I picked up the item for the first time at 00:50:07. However, after dying, the game did not register the item as collected.

I defeated the boss again, but the item still doesn't appear as collected, and because of that, the progress is not showing as 100% complete (this can be seen around 01:00:00 in the video).
