I know the best combos to use for the marauders I just haven’t gotten dodging down perfectly

Depends on what you're looking for. TAG 1's much harder and demands more specific actions out of you, especially at higher difficulties. TAG 2 adds a new mechanic, which isn't balanced properly, and the ending and its final boss might leave you underwhelmed

I have a soft spot for the classic sprites so I’m leaning more so to the former

I think the thing that appeals to me about the classic sprites is that most of them invoke a different feeling than the modern ones. They’re very metal and blend that classic, stereotypical hell imagery with very 90’s esk Sci-Fi. Modern demons lean way harder into the cybernetics and sleeker/more complex looks.
There’s plenty of bangers in NuDoom but it’s not usually what I imagine when I think of hell
