I would say trying either to shoot it, find a wall that you could go through to find a button to open it, but I don't have much advice since I haven't played the remake yet

Just wanted to say that I've got the platinum! It was a really fun experience (though I would have liked it if the coop achievement wasn't a thing). The art for every achievement also looks really nice. Here praying that next year the Hexen 2 remaster comes out so I get to fully complete that one as well!

And no it is under the same engine, they're both id Tech 2. Sure, they are different forks of it, but with the KEX engine as a shell I'm sure they can combine them

Hogs up two QuakeCon releases while they could just rerelease a big game during one of those instead, like DOOM 3, and score huge cash. Hexen's fanbase isn't all that big, and most of the people who are passionate about these games would get the remasters for free anyway :p

So you'd be trying harder to sell it to people that are more likely to not care than the opposite, while the people that actually do care would mostly not even be paying for it (free upgrade on Steam and GOG)

Unfortunately I'm not convinced that this remaster is coming but I'd also love to see it. Portal of Praevus being widely available would be neat

And Heretic II, though that one is easier to get than PoP

Data isn't available so we can't know for sure but I believe we can theorize that to be the case, yes

Like I said, half of the (fairly small) fanbase had these on Steam already so they got the remaster free. Another quarter is stuck in the 90s and hates digital storefronts and refuses to play the remaster because they have their trusty old 1994 copy and a good source port. Then people were expecting DOOM 3 or Quake 4 so a lot of them were probably turned off by seeing a rather niche (in comparison) franchise get a remaster, and then a lot of the people that were interested in it could just try it via Game Pass
