good question, maybe ask in general? I'm kind of a noob when it comes to these things lol
Same
check in general, ask a moderator, submit an tech-talk email. stuff like that @solar spoke @brittle finch
vega
hi vega
Hi, @gusty seal.
@spring merlin how do i submit emoji's ?
so much for that useful AI
vega needs a upload for more interactive responses 😄
The way people treat DLSS is how VEGA should be treated
Vega tries their best lol
what AI would be treated like Xess? Grok? 😂
We should treat AI nicely, they learn from us, hence why I wanna help vega be more useful 😄 @brittle finch @solar spoke
Kill VEGA
That’ll teach it
Nah, SIRI
I, for one, welcome our new AI overlords
Siri = Shitty Integrated Restarted Invention
🔥
We should worship AI like how the Egyptians worshipped cats
fair, we need to survive somehow lol. Tbf though, cats are more energy efficient
Imagine AI gets to a point where it can sustain itself on its own 💀
I just realized that the cosmic baron guillotine projectile still breaks my shield lmao
because I'm on 300% damage
666% damage challange
Ultra violance without died once
If died once restart whole mission.
Without extra life.

I hate how this YouTuber I watch recommended a “$750 PC build” for 1440P and then when I added in the price of a motherboard, fans and a PSU it was ACTUALLY $860… all without including a 1440P monitor, a decent mouse and a decent gaming chair
clickbait goes crazy
Nah fr tho
but also 860 bucks for a build is solid anyway
I wouldn't really consider a monitor, mouse, and gaming chair to be included in a "PC" anyway
Before including a $350-$400 dollar 1440P monitor, a bare minimum $40 mouse and a decently comfortable chair
I mean fair
Idk how much chairs go for but I feel like I’d be disappointed if I looked
I just use a random spinny chair from costco I got for 50 bucks lmao
couldn't really tell you how much an actual gaming chair goes for
His gaming chair was better than mine so he beat me 🙏
we should rename them to "chairs that have good ventilation so my ass doesn't get too sweaty"
Not including a case btw either because technically it isn’t “required”
oof
bruh lol
But if you included a decent case it’d be almost $1K
what specs
All to play in 1440P medium fr
9060 XT (which is overpriced asf rn) and a 7600X/9600X with 32 GBs of RAM
if you could play a game like tda at 1440p medium native then hell tf yeah totally worth it
9060 XT got fuckin scalpeddd
9060 xt
amd gpu
the 9060 is literally just an nvidia 60 series ti card with worse ray tracing
The MSRP is $349, but $370 is the absolute cheapest you’ll find one 😭
And no DLSS
can u even use dlss on amd gpus or are u stuck with shitty fsr
jesus christ
Nono you have FSR AND XESS
its worse than i thought
:3
the only reason nvidia still sells gpus is because AMD is wholly unable to get their shit together
They’re good if you care SOLELY about VRAM
The 9060 XT is basically just a 5060 TI in terms of price and has slightly better performance, but the 5060 TI has wayyy more features
DLSS makes FSR look amateurish, and AMD lags behind so badly in RT performance
this is making me dizzy rn. And I'm so happy I switched to Nvidia from AMD
Path tracing must be even worse 💀
I'm not gonna talk about path tracing because it's kinda ultra-luxury tech atm
Idek if AMD even has access to ray reconstruction either
sadge
real
I mean not if you optimize your settings the absolute most possible
even 50 series cards aren't amazingly optimized for path tracing yet
the performance hit is still pretty huge
Like how most people value price to performance, I value performance to graphics
but by next gen I'm sure it'll be there and amd will look even worse
True
i tested again to make sure and path tracing on my 5070ti made me go from 120-140 to around 70-80
I just want AMD to get their shit together man 😭
so ye 5080 is kind of a minimum for pt (for me at least)
If I can make the game look as beautiful as possible while being playable still idm
pretty much yeah
Nah bro 5050 is frfr

If you don’t care about being at like 30 FPS 🙏
Or sometimes 40
Like 50-60 in cutscenes tho
i tried tda on a laptop a couple months ago, it has a 3060 and it got like 20 fps on all lowest 720p
if I can get a relatively solid 60 then I'm happy
which I can get with my laptop 4060 so we're chilling
I would expect a bit better tbh
a lot better actually, considering people get playable frame rates with 2060s
That’s cus the 3060 is so shit it can’t even use half its VRAM
keep in mind "laptop"
ah right
Laptop GPUs are usually worse than their desktop counterparts
10-15% worse
newer low-end cards have better laptop equivalents because they're more power efficient
The more you go up the more noticeable it is
exactly
low tdp cards aren't neutered as much in laptops as higher tdp ones
In general, yes, but the 5050 has GDDR6 and the laptop 5050 has GDDR7
huh
So it’s quite literally just better
that's...a decision
lmao
bit of a slap in the face to anyone who wants to buy a desktop 5050
It’s because in laptops the VRAM is soldered to the motherboard
No one wants to anyways 💀

I'm still waiting for the day valve add support for an external GPU for the Steam Deck dock
doesn't adding an external gpu kinda take away the whole point of having a steam deck?
like yeah, support would be cool and all, but what's the point
Probably more of a hardware thing anyways. So you could modify it to make it a thing you can do lol
only if you're using it on the go. I mean when you have it docked and hooked up to a tv/monitor
fair, the deck is a versatile little thing
It’d look funny having a 5090 plugged into a little steam deck lol
been watching AVGN again and it'd be like that Atari controller that's bigger than the console 😂
The only problem with that and the reason why there will never be a version that can do that is because it’s marketed as a portable PC
Key word there being portable
That being the main point of it
Lmaooo
I need to see that 😭
The fact that the ROG Xbox Ally runs better with a different OS is hilarious
I think it's called the trak ball controller if I remember right
If you make your default OS Linux for example you get up to a 33% increase in performance in some games compared to Windows 💀
Imma look it up
big oof for windows, even with it trimmed down for handheld
Some are big, some are small
if only it had a small power draw
Istg like 8 GBs of my memory is being used the second I boot up my laptop
Fuckin windows bro
😭
It’s all background processes
Meaning it’s probably Windows if I had to guess
Boutta switch to Linux or sum shit frfr
may as well, only reason I don't is because of uni
that and I love BF6 too much lol
Finished lomarith
It wasn't really that hard honestly but I'd say the pinky leader demon encounter?
With the vagary and arachnotrons
Yup
Hello
The fight right before the end of Siege Pt 2 ALWAYS kicks my ass
You should!
CW: Linux
|| I made the switch about a year ago and its worth the learning curve. Compatibility can be tricky sometimes, but there's always helpful tutorials/solutions for any little thing that might be giving you grief. You also have complete and total control of your computer, and no obnoxious ads or news. Steam and CurseForge work flawlessly, Minecraft Launcher works just fine, plus you have access to basically anything when it comes to studio/office tools. I don't regret it for a minute, just backup any projects/files on another drive until you have the knack of things (speaking from painful experience)||
just got gold skin 100% legit for sure absolutely didnt mess with the sliders mhm
I think I’ll try swapping over after college
Same honestly
Disassembling my laptop to reapply thermal paste sounds like it’s gonna be a pain
At least I don’t have to worry about that for another few years
||no more laptops for me. they collect so much dust inside, and u cant easily clean them. nor repair. now i have a big glass case, and i cant see totally what's going on inside! Way better! laptops are for uni broke bois||
Why no laptop😢
But uuh yeah my laptop sucks aah so…
well, they are laptops. They are supposed to suck
True
Also uni is the biggest scam of 2 thousand society. So many years with debt and missed income... and yet, not only your future pay is average or below, so many dont even find a uni-related job
But hey, mr beast was searching for a wife with 3 degrees.
Welp in the glorious fatherland Finland, uni is super important and not expensive
Actually, I have heard this before. hmmm
Yeah I’m in highschool/college not sure wich one it would be called
”Lukio”
But yeah in the us uni is bs
Also my laptop was 800€
So it’s not that bad
my full chad PC was barely 2 hundreds more, and handles all games all apps 😎 .
wait, what
I have 8 GB GDDR6 VRAM memory
I was checking and be like "this cannot be the right parameter", how can u run anything with just 512mb 🫣
I’m currently majoring in Cyber Security and my teachers are the most annoying mfs ever
I think I might see if I can switch to graphic design
16gb of ram baby
It’s a ryzen 7 so it good trust
I know
But it still helps all together
And u can use ram as vram (wich I’m not)
I belive that is only on integrated tho (I have integrated)
I pretty much run everything on max details. but 40fps (monitor limit)
Please get a higher refresh rate monitor unless you really can’t afford one 😭
I dont think the difference is worth the cost... plus it's not like i am a pro (gamer)
60 is worth it imo especially if you already get a consistent 40 on max settings
It does make a diffrence
Tho 60-120 fps is the sweet spot fir a lot of people
Now it depends what games u play
I play a lot of shooters so…
then it wouldnt probably be a good idea to... share that i use the monitor integrated... "audio" 🫠
Aint no way brah
xD
Get headphones
I litreally have to have headphones
Cause siege is audio depended
my ears cant handle headphones. They start hurting and i get in pain after a while. idk, but it sucks
Get a good pear of headphones
They might need to be a bit big
And keep them loose
I'd rather get a good external speaker, with subwoofer, or 5.1, than use headphones imo
Headphones tend to damage your hearing in the long run
who less who more. But dangerous for everyone nonetheless (if high volume is used)
headphones can cause hearing loss due to high volume levels and prolonged exposure, which can damage the sensitive hair cells in the inner ear. To prevent this, follow the 60/60 rule: listen at no more than 60% of maximum volume for no more than 60 minutes at a time, and take breaks. Symptoms like ringing in the ears or muffled sounds may indicate damage, but only a doctor can diagnose it; the damage from loud noise exposure is often irreversible
Also, have ever been in a club or concert, and happen to be near those hugh huge speaker?
I honestly could not care less about that, but uuh u do you
Like I mean the hearing loss
I also have bad hearing already so
Not using headphones could help restore or improve your hearing, up to a point. The body can do some healing
When I’m alone at home Ion use headphobes when watching yt
But in siege u have to have headphobes
You guys might be able to tell me; is there any reason why Divine Retribution, Wither & Writhe, Theomachy, and Blood Spill are missing from the Ripatorium's jukebox?
which levels do they appear in?
I would say spoilers but is stuff like Beyond Hex & Flame in there?
Divine Retribution and Wither & Writhe are in Resurrection and Theomachy and Blood Spill are in Final Battle
Yeah, it and Apotheosis are in there
hmm. not sure. are they like the main ones or do they only play in them partly?
i genuinely don't remember
They're ||the boss themes for Kreed Maykr and Enhanced Ahzrak respectively||
that may be why. they're boss themes
But both Between Hex & Flame and Apotheosis are in the jukebox
They score ||the Ahzrak and Witch fight at the end||
Maybe those two are the real outliers
Is there a reason for that or just an oversight?
is that one different than the one that plays the whole level?
my ears are extra cooked because I use headphones all the time for my games, music, etc. so my ears are exposed to high volumes from that a lot. But I also work as a cook in kitchens. Which the environment there gets really loud.
Yes. Infernal Chasm scores Reckoning, ||and those themes are reserved for the bosses||
Damn
My ears are healthy
Hmm. They probably forgot 'em them or something
My Mini Shield Saw and 4 Vinyl set arrived!
Nice, mine also arrived yesterday
@obsidian shard which version of the board game are u getting
All-out
My Shield actually arrived yesterday and the Vinyls arrived today
I reaaaally wanna do the all in one but holy fk 380 euros
but gotta wait till thursday
Fuck man its so cool
board game?
Is this meant to be like a warhammer type game?
where you get figures and paint them?
Atlans/titans are on a 50mm base
Serrat is the same
The 100mm Base Serrat is Kickstarter exclusive!
Theres monthly payments you can make apperently!
Ye ill check more when i get home
But its really cool stuff
So cool lol
not part of the KS however
Lol.thats an old incorrect image thats slipped through. Spider mastermind is a stretch goal.
Wdym, isnt it a part of the all in bundle
ahh i see, thank you
Bruh this is so sick 😭
Yeah it's a part of the all in bundle
Every single SG is included in it
ya my bad, its just not shown (YET)
Wait holup
Hmm then I guess it's possible for me to grab em all
It’s just that gray figures look cheap somehow or is it always like that in board games?
that's just how plastic figures look like
jesus christ, it's beautiful
Indeed. is there a release date yet? Maybe I missed it but I didn’t see any info about that on the kickstarter page
That's just a straight up lie man
Bruh
Last I heard the estimated release date was Spring 2026, but you'll have to ask @obsidian shard about that
I will say though... nearly half a grand USD for the all-in set is a bit much
I see. I probably won’t pick up a copy until it releases, but it does look cool
Also there will be at least 2 Additional Expansion packs
we will learn about them in the coming day
(Spider-Mastermind and Komodo)
Oh... Sorry.
Currently there are only around 5 additional KS Exclusive Awards!
2 dice trays
1 DOOMGUY Fig
1 Slayer Fig
100mm Serra fig
standard Serrat size is 30mm
Atlan/Titan Size is 50mm
Damn this is a lot of stuff
More than I expected. Are kickstarters for boardgames usually like this? The range of editions/expansions/prices is pretty wide
Which is nice, should give more people access to it
I had a guess 2027.
probably shouldn't respond to questions you don't know the answer to man
?? xd
they're just sayin shit dude
Ye surprisingly, my uncle had one and their was a decent amount of additional stuff
@placid rampart
cooked
Thanks
Blood sacrifice all the way
hey buddy, wait your turn
his fate has been decided
Cooked against Vagary, Revenants, Acolytes, Cacodemons and Cosmic Barons. Blood Sacrifice for Cyberdemons, Komodos, and everything else!
any reason you use cooked against revenants? they fall apart if you sneeze in their general direction, I figured most people saved the RL for big guys
Grenade Laucher is cool, just not as good as the RL
When those ghoulish bastards hit me with their surge attacks, and I parry it, I want to overkill their screaming asses.
fair enough lol
anyways what combat shotgun build do you guys go
genuinely cant decide between left or right
I like the grenade launcher a lot more than the rocket launcher
I offer the Fodder-Farmer. Smelt to drop more armor, and the second upgrade (I’m slipping in the name) to burn Fodder Demons.
I love the Conbat Shotty, but I prefer using my shells for the Super Shotgun.
is blast of any use at all
my favorite combat shotgun build is never picking it up again after sentinel barracks because I get the SSG
incorrect
It’s very underpowered
bear in mind I have my mod installed that makes the flail not be ass
ERM ACTUALLY, You get the SSG in the Holy City of Aratum
yeah you’re right
so you would be Using the Combat Shotgun still in Sentinel Barracks

Rewrote the CHAPTER 6 foreword for the guide. Posting here instead of #general because I know the people here better.
Boii time to read
I can still go back and see those messages just fine
Hate posting something and realizing a minute later there are typos. Fuck me.
I can't
Dw ts is shakespeare either way

No like it says 7:48 am yesterday then it skips
To today
yeah clearly your wifi router is having a skill issue moment
Appreciate it.
Ok so did they remake the d1 cover art????
Anyone notice the pads for the boardgame have art
They have classic doom and dark ages
Yup!
Bruh this is soooooo cool but where's the version where doomguy is drawn
ive also got
And why 480 p
BOIIIIII
It looks very cool, not exact doom 1 cover art, but very inspired by it
Notice how the imps look like imp stalkers
It's confirmed beyond a doubt chat
Same with the lost souls
I have asked for a HD Texteless version
i'll ping ya if i get one!
there was never any doubt to begin with
Love how the zombieman on the left is holding a G36 for whatever reason
Maybe he was German in his past life
hell yeah man, banger foreword! I like the presentation a lot, the banner at the top is clean
Wolfenstein????
ello Hato
Thanks! I appreciate that. I ended up making like 24 banner images and an actual cover for the guide to make it look more like a whole production. Here's the cover and some other examples:

Some of the banner images were a pain. The Chronology one I spent like an hour on, and tried to fade Doomguy from the cover art of each game into one image and have it look somewhat natural.
Some were really fun though. I like the Cacodemon one.
oh wow that's very well done! Looks more professional instead of just being a word doc
the cover art fade is one of the best, I think that time was more than worth it
that's awesome man!
would honestly like to have a printed version of this once it's finished following TDA's dlc
Hahaha I wish. I really wish Bethesda would sell a guide like this. I'd absolutely buy a physical version.
I remember Hugo mentioning some sort of lore comic/guide during the final few Eternal streams
and nothing ever came of that, of course. I had previously speculated that TDA would containt the majorty of info the book was supposed to have, but that doesn't seem to be the case
Unfortunately he also was mentioning a comic book interquel between 2016 and Eternal and nothing ever came of that either.
They might be the same project
Now that'd be interesting, hmm.
I remember him saying that whatever they were working on was pretty much fully written and they were just waiting on art. That was the last we heard about it
I'd like to ask him next stream
I gotta say though I'd be really wary of it, because I, like... I'd really want a lore guide to be more "compiling info from the series to make it more accessible," and I worry Hugo's vision would be more like "here's a book explaining everything you want to know, even if it shouldn't have been explained or if the answer is really frustrating."
I don't want an official lore guide to be like Hugo's development stream QnAs and shit. I don't really want more stuff like the Primeval thing enshrined in official text even if it has no basis in the games. In general when franchises go down that path things get messier.
I'd imagine that's probably why we haven't heard anything about it in nearly four years
it's a lot harder to change the story when you write it in an official lore book
Yeah. What I'd want is a book compiling info we know, making it more accessible, and offering theories. How I write my guide is how I wish they'd write a guide. I want a section on Primevals that summarizes the info from the games, and offers a couple theories, and that's it. An encyclopedia for the universe.
yoyo
Maybe with a bit of the Doom Eternal Lorebook's flavoring. I did really like seeing supplementary storytelling with demon language and art, and it being about some irrelevant world called Drumavi or just lightly expanding on known characters made it fun to read without breaking anything.
Like oh hey, Hell calls the Imperatrix "the Atorcoppe Queen" sometimes. That's cool. That's a Lorebook thing. How neat.
I was actually one who bulit doomguy with alyx vance aug 8 2012.
Just let me write the interquel comic, id. I've got it. I'll give it some cute TDA references. Trust me. Give me a couple thousand bucks and a Steam key for the next Doom game and I'll have it done by next week.
I want zero sections on Primevals I'm ngl
I like modern Doom lore up until it goes above Urdak and Hell. I personally didn't really wanna know about Primevals or the creator of the universe. Although I suppose they should do something with that now that it's established
Primevals are just an example. Generally speaking I really do not want them to expand on Primevals in the next game. I mean nothing bad against Hugo personally but I fear his vision of what Primevals are is kind of... bad. At least if his comments on Doomguy being a Primeval are anything to look at.
I like my personal belief on what Primevals are (AU Doomguy theory... my beloved...) and I think I'd be kind of unsatisfied with whatever the "real" answer is. It should just be left alone. Not everything needs answering.
Absolutely nothing but respect for Hugo and anyone else involved with the storytelling, but I think they really started to step away from what makes most people like the Slayer so much. TDA felt like a major correction to that mistake and I applaud them for it
Not everything needs answering, absolutely spot on
TDA did help to convince me maybe Hugo's stepping away from all the cosmic chosen one bullshit, because it put in a lot of work to portray the Slayer as a human character.
I like the Slayer because he starts out as a normal person and becomes a "chosen one" through the Divinity Machine, and what I like is that this is consistently portrayed as a traumatic and harmful experience for him. He's like the ultimate hero of the universe and it fucking sucks, it's literally the path of "perpetual torment." Him being a normal man in the classic games informs why he's cool in the new ones.
Trying to write him as some destined hero even when he's just a meathead marine is a misguided move. I generally don't mind TAG's lore, and I don't think it was necessarily bad, but I think it was starting to toe the line as to how far Doom should go.
Maybe it didn't cross it but it was nudging the line.
Eternal also displays a warped idea of what does need answering.
- How the Earth invasion started, a very basic piece of backstory that the player should ideally be informed about: "Let's be very vague and contradictory about this. No need to explain anything on-screen."
- Playing through Taras Nabad and seeing its ruins: "We NEED Samuel Hayden to explain everything players already learn about in the Codex or players will KILL THEMSELVES." (HAVE HIM CONTRADICT THE CODEX WHILE WE ARE AT IT!)
I love Eternal, it's my favorite game in the series and I will defend its story more than I think most will. But its storytelling has a serious issue with priorities and the info it wants to get across to players.
See... that's the issuse.
Right there.
Hopefully we won't see that again. They're further going the opposite direction in dlc imo. They're doing a lot more cutscenes in first person like 2016 which is gonna make the story more personal
If you know
Which is very good to know
Are you stating, like, a fact? Did Hugo say that somewhere?
one thing that's worth mentioning is that Eternal's lore was seemingly rewritten quite a lot. I honestly don't think they had a clear vision of where the story should go and, much like 2016, only started to figure out the codex part of it closer to the end of development
During the most recent dev stream hugo mentioned that a large portion of the DLC cutscenes would be in first person. His one-word teaser for the expansion's narrative was "immersion"
Booiiiii
Oh no yeah this is an objective fact IMO, and you can tell from the lack of Codex files for Cultist Zombies and Kalibas, the swapped-around levels like Mars Core, and the fact that Nekravol and Kalibas were the Tower of Babel and Erebus late enough in development that they made Steam cards for the Tower of Babel.
They were switching around the order of levels and rewriting lore all the time. This isn't even getting into the cut dialogue talking about the Khan's blood fueling the Divinity Machine and shit.
Isn't that so peak
they shouldve just done erebus and babel teebeeaich
Genuinely I think it's so interesting that Eternal was as acclaimed as it was, and IMO that speaks to how well-made its gameplay, visuals, music, and design are. Because the development of that game, taken out of context, sounds like it would lead to a financial disaster.
They didn't figure out gameplay until like a few months before release no?
Isn't that crazy
the Kahn's blood and classic dimension voicelines are insane when you really stop and think about it. Those are MASSIVE jumps from where we are now, and a lot of it seemingly happened closer to the end of dev
"They were rewriting the game constantly during development. They couldn't decide which levels go where for the majority of the dev time. Entire Codex files were cut after release. There are still Codex notifications for files that aren't there. Also we got into a huge controversy with our composer whom the fanbase practically worships."
"BTW it is one of the best FPS games ever made and it was nominated for Game of the Year. Everyone loves it. Fuck you."
gameplay saw a major shift following the QC2018 presentation and continued to evolve until close to launch
so fall 2018 was the big shift
Oh so like 2 years
I mean still relatively early
What's your opinion on the new direction for dlc
Like the cutscenes
(We don't know much abt the story)
I've never seen this quote before, where does it come from? That's super interesting
I think he made up the quote
It makes sense considering how much TDA harkens back to 2016. A DLC that is reminiscent of 2016 would kind of complete the circle.
ah lol, that went right over my head
I typed it up myself, but I can cite where I got all that from.
Ye it's peak
Then you got some idiot "ooooohhh I can't see muh skiins"
Boo hoo
There will always be some loser complaining
- Rewriting the game, you already know that.
- The level thing: Mars Core having the Slayer swipe a soldier's plasma gun indicates it was meant to be an early level, then they changed it but kept the scene because it went hard.
- Codex files cut after release: to my knowledge, the 1.0 Xbox One version of Eternal had a Codex file for Deagic Talismans, the blue coins the Slayer has when he kills the Guardians, and then it was patched out.
- Codex notifications for files that aren't there: Kalibas, Cultist Zombies.
It happened for dark ages too somewhat
Mars Core's whole thing is interesting because we also saw from the trailer that at some point they were having the Archvile show up there. Unless it was a trailer-exclusive shot?
I also know the whiplash and lost soul toys are missing
I remember this because it irritated the fuck out of me.
Well this pisses me off
And it's not fixed

do we have any screenshots or transcripts of the talisman codex entry?
Hang on.
Here we are. A Reddit user found it after playing the physical disc for Eternal without updating it:
Translation from the Corrax Tablets: It was not by chance that the Sentinel Deags were chosen to serve the Maykrs in their conquest of Earth, As immutable law of the sixth seal would dictate, trespass of the mortal world was forbidden, and no being - be it from Urdak or Hell - could ever again set foot in the mortal realms. Only by undoing the seal could the consumption of Earth be achieved, an act which would require the compliance of mortal agents - the Deags. To secure safe passage of the Deags in their mission, they would be granted the right to select for themselves a Sentry Guardian. Bound by arcane intonement of the Blood sigil, the Sentries would serve as personal guardians of the Sentinel Priests. By decree of the Sigil, the Priests would be permitted mortal immunity - an ordainment that would protect the Priests from harm so long as their Sentries lived. Only by sacrifice of a Sentry might one acquire a Deagic Talisman; a token signifying the right to usurp the decree of the Sigil.
Most of this just specifies what you can already infer from the story itself. But there are a few details that contradict the game itself, which I presume are why it was cut.
TLDR: The Deag Priests are immortal because of a Hell ritual where they choose a guardian monster that their life depends on. They cannot be killed unless the guardian is killed, and the Deagic Talisman is proof of its death.
Huh so where's the contradiction
I never liked the Codex anyway personally. Eternal's lore feels convoluted and worded weird and the ambiguous canonity is really bad. 2016 had a nicer more grounded story imo
The Dark ages dlc is gonna have 2016-like cutscenes(more immersive)
Which is aweeesssoome
As immutable law of the sixth seal would dictate, trespass of the mortal world was forbidden, and no being - be it from Urdak or Hell - could ever again set foot in the mortal realms.
This part is nonsense. Over half of Doom 2016 is spent in the mortal realm on Mars and the fucking place is crawling with demons. There is no mention of a seal being placed on the mortal realms to keep Maykrs or demons out, either. Maykrs were freely running around on Argent D'Nur.
Ohhhh I see
Demons aren't kept out of the mortal realm because of a seal protecting it. They're kept out because of a seal separating Hell from everything else. Urdak has nothing like this, the Maykrs can freely go wherever they want in the Earthly Realms. It's just Hell they can't enter.
Skimped over that
Also, "Deags" is stupid and gramatically incorrect. That's a small thing, but it's Deag. The plural for Deag is Deag.
That's not really a big deal but it irks me.
also worth adding: the 1.0 versions of Eternal feature a different background for the Slayer's mancave PC https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/892238793174818848/1432820271978516500/image.png?ex=6902715d&is=69011fdd&hm=d2c5f15c2aa3e8eb37d33b2b2f3c90cf13fc746ef6abff1e27d0072dd069730e
My eyes are always drawn to the Soul Cube on his desk over the actual rig
1.0 is the launch version without the launch patch
I remember this. What the fuck is this anyway? I don't get the point of them having this here. All I can imagine is it's either a placeholder or, like... a picture of his hometown from the classic games?
I don't think they thought that deep
Would be cool
And the launch patch was when?
I do believe it was said to be his hometown during a pre-launch interview, but I haven't found the source for that so definitely don't take it as fact. It could also be Richardson, TX, which is where id Software is located
At launch?
at launch, meaning it was downloaded automatically alongside the game
Oh so how did you get the pic
I wonder why it was changed. Hmm. They ended up keeping the family photo, anyway.
That means they patched it out real quick
Whyyyyu
Actually it means nothing
So why not
From the Bethesda Game Days PAX 2020 presentation. You can still access it today though, just install the game with no pre-existing data and don't let it update
Huh alr
Did anyone go to quakecon last year
When they showed off dark ages for a bit
I remember ppl calling the vagary "a cyberdemon with spidermastermind legs"
Idk how they messed that up lol
If I'm remembering correctly, removed for "revealing too much lore".
I swear all of this was mentioned somewhere but I just can't find a source. Might've been an early Hugo stream
vague generic photo of a random town
revealing too much lore
Ah, yes. We can't reveal the core of the narrative. We have to have fans believe in the prospect of Doomguy growing up on a farm instead of in a town. This is just too delicate for fans to know.
Man I swear they have some weird priorities lol.
"Revealing too much" is a codeword for saying "we don't know yet"
Sometimes, I might be wrong
Probably.
Hugo just read my guide. You can tell everyone you came up with all of it and I just happened to get it right.
Preach
I really wish they'd just stop making it all so confusing
Like if they're gonna do this whole story i'd rather they actually spend time developing it than trying to have it both ways
Oh. Hey. I recognize you.
Yes hi i am a funny mixer man
I listen to your Doom Eternal mixes. Nice job on those.
Thank you
Seriously my only actual gripe with Dark Ages is that they didn't develop the story enough
I know many have this sentiment of "doom games don't need story" but as someone that got into it from 2016 i feel like we're not really being rewarded for being attentive to what they've written
You could probably argue that nudoom's story presentation is akin to that of fucking fnaf of all things
I disagree that Doom games don't need story. I think games like this do need some sort of narrative to keep your attention.
That said I liked TDA's story, and it's the best of the series IMO. I'm the Doom lore nerd so I'm gonna be biased but I liked how much TDA showed us of the Sentinel setting and I enjoyed it being a much more personal story that gave us much more characterization for the Slayer.
What did you think of 2005's story?
I suppose so, but in a different sense. The old games can be understood pretty easily as one story if you just, like, ignore all the weird expansions
2016 opened up this HUGE scope of stuff that has not stayed consistent since
Ehhhh... serviceable for a movie, I suppose, but not Doom enough.
FNAF felt like it kept getting gradually bigger and bigger and it just got harder to keep track of things
FNaF kept trying to end while I feel like with DOOM they keep trying to shove in more future story potential
Yeah...
I enjoyed it personally and it's probably my favorite story from the franchise (though I'm yet to play TDA)
I will say as someone who is very well-versed in both Doom and FNAF that I would rather deal with Doom's storytelling than FNAF's any day of the week. I would rather deal with a million TAGs than a single Security Breach.
agreed!
Dark Ages probably didn't need to be so open ended. I know we all love the medieval setting but i feel like it could have been a much better story if it tied everything together from 2016 and Eternal
??
How is it gonna tie allat in one game
Doom has a lot of storytelling fuckups but I do not think they've lost sight of what makes Doom Doom. Scott Cawthon IMO has lost sight of what FNAF is, on multiple occasions. I've never had to doubt who the villains of Doom are supposed to be. With FNAF Scott has struggled to characterize the Mimic in any meaningful, consistent way for four fucking games and more than half a dozen books.
I feel like Eternal too had a bit of a sudden ending, D3 did too but it at least teased what a possible sequel would have had; Eternal just has a generic good job ending
I mean the unholy crusades and the sentinel civil war

How long do you think those last.
I think it would have been more rewarding to see the civil war tied up than yet another Doomguy hero origin story
They could have written in the Maykr control thing along with it and it would have felt much more satisfying
I imagine the DLC will tie into these, but they cover too much time to cover in one game. I think TDA had a decent direction with choosing to give us a smaller, more personal story that's more a glimpse into the Unholy Wars than an attempt to compress that whole era of the saga into one game.
I agree with m0no here
Imo they're planning on addressing the story beats you wanna see
I can understand the wish to have seen more significant events though, and I really, really want to see the Civil War in TDA's DLC. I'll be a bit disappointed if we don't.
How are they gonna develop the story like you said and just cram all those events in one game
I don't expect it but what I do expect is the discovery of nekravol which kicks off the civil war
They wouldn't need to fit literally everything in
Ye but it's hard to pace the story
Or overall narrative
Sometimes you gotta be patient
I'm glad they didn't go overboard
tag 2
I don't know the best way i can describe this is how in Evil Dead 2 you see Ash in the necronomicon and then you actually do get the big tie-together in Army of Darkness, even if it's a really silly and goofy payoff
It didn't feel like that
They did connect the wraiths with the cosmic realm
And it was only written the way it was so they could keep making games in the medieval setting which i'm not sure is a very good reason to be honest
Also TDA harkening back to and recontextualizing 2016's intro is peak as fuck.
And they mentioned the high council ehich is confirmed to be the order of the six by hugo
When did he say this?
That was cool, that did feel like a good way to tie things together
@warm ibex do you have the timestamp(or atleast confirmation)
Pls
I guess I'm missing out on this shit. Are there any other statements Hugo has made recently I should be aware of?
Just watch Horde's last video
Hugo alluded to Marok forming a bond with the slayer
Pretty good summary
I had no idea you were so fucking relatable, good christ
He was asked the question and responded "interesting..."
Which means "yes"

It means "interesting..."
Will do.
Interesting cuz they guessed it right
Can we get a Hugo emoji that's like the "true..." Morgan Freeman one but instead it says "interesting..."
Oh my god
And it's Hugo's face
LOL. I was a FNAF megafan for years. I still hold the series close to my heart, it has been with me even longer than Doom. But Cawthon is kind of a jackass and I think he has a really poor handle on storytelling and when you need to focus on Narrative VS Lore
@obsidian shard
Your time has come
For a new job
We all know that the story ended at Ultimate Custom Night
Everything afterward is fanfiction
I know my whole thing here is the lore nerd shit but I will always adore a great narrative and IMO the direct plot is more important than lore/backstory. That was why I liked TDA was it felt like a very solid Doom narrative in its own right instead of just satisfying lore nerds by having us fight the Baalgar or end up in the sarcophagus.
resending since I sent the wrong timestamp, one moment
Cool.
I feel like i'd be less irritated if things were better explained
There are many new lore implications and they're not very well developed IMO
I know a fan explaining things doesn't fix the story's failure to do so, but if you are confused about anything or need elaboration I am happy to help, and have spent an embarrassing amount of time memorizing this series' lore and story.
Like, the Hebeth thing for example. We already knew about them being underground, and that was really interesting, and then the bombshell gets dropped that there was also an entire society above ground and it's only explained that it's where the big gizmo is that only ends up serving as a bomb that Doomguy uses to aura farm on a Titan with
Are you wanting an explanation for that or are you just expressing frustration? I don't necessarily blame you if it is just the latter.
Meanwhile, questions arise of: why did Samuel say Hebeth was before the Slayer's time (i know he probably meant the underground society thing, but it's still confusing)? Are there any repercussions for the huge nuke exploding in the middle of Mars? Does this mean that the UAC just kinda built over old Sentinel architecture for their Mars base a millennia later?
The Wraith stuff too, someone else talked about it in a video but the whole "soul of the last wraith" thing is also confusing
Okay, so I can explain some of this.
Here's the timestamp (since I don't show the clip in my video and it's best to hear it directly from Hugo instead of me) https://youtu.be/0XjYueIMKYo
DOOM: The Dark Ages | Hugo Martin's Game Director Playthrough - Ch. 16 - Reckoning
Join us as DOOM: The Dark Ages' Game Director Hugo Martin plays through a different level per week while providing his unique insights into the game’s design.
Our weekly DOOM Eternal Mods Spotlight features the following:
https://mods.bethesda.net/en/doometern...
Doomguy's armour being a completely new even though he looks like he's wearing the Sentinel training armour in the Eternal codex entries is absolutely a retcon even if it's a cool one
Also his super shotgun being different
YESSSSSSS
It's perfect
If Hugo can pick and choose what lore is canon/can be retconned, then so can you
But i don't like retcons!! I pay attention to the lore and then it gets changed and i feel like an idiot for paying so much attention
Not really he just simply wore new armor
"The Lost City of Hebeth" is not a city named Hebeth. It's a lost city located on a planet named Hebeth. TDA establishes that when the Sentinels colonized Mars, they called it Hebeth.
The Lost City from Eternal and the factory we explore in TDA are unrelated areas. The Lost City is just an old Sentinel city that fell to ruin before Doomguy got to Argent D'Nur, whereas the factory was still being used on Hebeth/Mars. The factory is being used as a grounds for the Trans-Dimensional Barrier.
On the Slayer's armor: Eternal's Codex depicting Doomguy in the training armor is from when he was a normal human training to be a Night Sentinel. TDA takes place years after this, when he has become the Slayer and is ostracized by the Sentinels for becoming a gun for the Maykrs to aim.
On the Super Shotgun: Eternal's SSG is the Classic SSG retrofitted with Sentinel tech. TDA's SSG is a separate weapon commissioned by the Maykrs using arcane gunpowder.
His armor looks like the training armor in the civil war entry though
I wouldn't really call that a retcon, more like placeholder since his armor was undecided
Still a retcon to establish something and then change it later
Well it's just a representation
There's d1 cover art demons in the codex yet we never see one
Can you post the image you're talking about?
You can embed the link.
Remember how they used the silhouette of the Slayer's crucible in the codex entry of the Dark Lord falling after the Father took his sphere and then did nothing with that
I also wouldn't call that "established" either
You should know what i mean, it's the one with everyone all lined up facing each other and you can see Doomguy's silhouette in the back fighting a marauder
Like, in the air
I suspected but wanted to make sure.
In the case of that picture, yeah, it's a contradiction. I don't really blame them for that though, because TDA's suit would've looked lame if they had to confirm to the Eternal Codex.
Well it's not a huge one
it's like how Eternal's sentinel codex entries use the classic cover art demons in place of legitimate enemy designs. That wasn't establishing them as the demons of the time period, but instead being used as placeholder until the visual elements were finished
ok this has NOTHING to do with.. well.. anything BUT do you guys think Hugo Martin at full power could fix Destiny 2?
No but it is still bothersome for having paid attention to that detail
Also the cover art demons are funny and they need to stay. I like them showing up solely as visual depictions of demons and never actually in the games.
I want to see one and fight it
Well I knew it existed too the difference is that I thought the sentinel suit was lame as balls
i didn't think that...
It was a great cross between modern sentinel and old doomguy attire
Yawn
Seeing a cover art demon would be the Doom equivalent of finding Mothman. They don't exist. You aren't meant to witness such a majestic and terrifying creature.
They can only exist in our hearts.
i WANT one and i want it NOW
I WANNA KILL IT
now we're on the same page
I'm still mad about this never being explained
Been stuck on the first belly of the beast encounter for an hour on max sliders
Even I can admit the Crucible thing is wack as fuck. I don't have an explanation for that. Neither of the Crucibles we see were ever Davoth's.
They could have like added a single line about Samur bestowing the Dark Lord's crucible to The Slayer and it would have satiated me
This one doesn't seem to have a timestamp on it?
I'm nervous for the acid levels
It reminds me of old medieval depictions of sea monsters. What they were actually depicting was whales, but you can’t fault a primitive mind for not being able to comprehend a creature as vast and unknown as an ocean-going mammal
Can we get an officially licensed Doom necronomicon style lore book
Doom Eternal's Lorebook is the best we got.
And just write it so that it fixes literally every plothole
I feel like that'd be a great thing to have
I have my own huge guide I'm writing to explain stuff but it is not in-universe or whatever.
And while I contend it rocks, it is not official.
I'd rather see some of that and read some others
I need it bound in demon skin and written in blood
Illustrations included
No I want cutscenes
oh does it not? The timestamp is 2:50:05, I'm very sorry about that lol
Boi
Lol that is fine, thanks.
Well i mean nothing new should be in there apart from elaborations and small tie-togethers
Oh you want elaborations
Just enough to put the pieces together
Like the hebeth thing and titans dying with literally anything thing
Yes
And them saying the last wraith soul is in the heart of argent which is not true
I'd assume they forgot the wraiths existed beyond the last one
It is probably true to their knowledge.
another hugo comment that I'm not sure if you're aware of - it was confirmed that the tomb the Sentinels use to ressurect the Slayer in TDA is the same one he breaks out of in 2016
The World Spear may be a thing but they never imply the Sentinels knew there were other Wraiths. Hell we don't even know if the Wraiths in the World Spear are even alive. We literally only see shitty outlines of them in pods, in bad resolution because they weren't meant to be seen up close.
Now that is interesting. It makes sense though, and IMO indicates the "blood priests" who trapped the Slayer are in fact the Deag Priests from Argent D'Nur. Being Sentinels they would have had access to that sarcophagus.
I already believed that but having more ammo for it is nice.
It's a little funny, too. "Yeah just pull that old tomb out of sentinel storage instead of making the slaves of doom take his measurements and forge another one"
even hell recycles
Cover Art Demons are a cross between baron and imp. They are in my megawad if you want to kill them in gzdoom
They are called Fiends in my maps
Fiends, I like that
A Baron totally suggested making a new tomb and the Dark Lord of the Third Age struck him down for it. Does he have any idea how stretched thin our budget is!? Just reuse the other one.
lmao
"His muscles have... grown a bit since the last time he was in that thing. I just think he would fit better, that's all"
If there's culutu arch vile in dark ages.
I Would call him squidward.
I honestly don't think they'll add a cosmic archvile
yah, i think they are teasing the return of the arch vile with the imp evolutions
but, where is summoner?
Would rather see more native Cosmic beings in general. No need for demon connections.
I doubt that's happening though because the Cosmic Realm is probably fucking cooked.
Literally I drew a whole evolution tree for imps for the guide. Hang on.
and apprantly the Barons have been siting back from the depths of hell, waiting for their return
primarily because the Acolyte is the intended summoner replacement for the main campaign. They already have a cosmic "summoner", so it makes sense to do a normal archvile
I like that!
are the classic imps stalkers?
What i like about the acolytes is that they feel like a threat all the time
In eternal archviles are pitiful if you know their spawn points
That's the intention, yes. They used the classic Imp sprites as references when modelling the Imp Stalkers.
But you'll almost never catch an acolyte while it's spawning
Yes.
Or it's probably already spawned into the arena
so Doom 3 imps, they more like cosmic imps imo
doom 3 imps are, uh
modern imp had sexy time with a tentacle
interesting
The DOOM: Arena Board Game is almost 75% Funded, Bethesda Advertising it seemed to have helped alot!
And then you gotta chase the bastard's clone halfway across the arena while the original makes the place impossible to walk on with 20 billion poison puddle things
Also yes.
God I wish Legacy of Rust was canon. That idea opens up some potential for cool demon backstory.
If you memorize spawn triggers you can do it semi reliability
The only acolyte i can consistently catch during it's spawn animation is the introductory acolyte in ryuul
Anything else naw
everything is pitiful if you know their spawn points
just put everything on and go ham
Well i do not know where any acolyte spawns nor do i know when they spawn lol
well there you go
Thirty agaddon champions
All I wanna fight is a vassago
Exactly the acolyte is intended to be a cosmic summoner type demon but we want the og
Actually wait that's probably impossible
They want more variety let's have some
Ok 15 minute timer
I'm already sad nobody will use the LoR monsters for fan wads.
Seriously????
Not a single major one?
On the topic of cosmic enemies and stuff
Cosmic baron is cooler than the baron of hell
Banshees????? Would kill for that
cooler yes
On god
Erm I disagree I like classic barons better
but doesn't mean I wouldn't very much like to see TDA's rendition of a baron of hell
although I'm a bit of a heretic because I like 2016's barons the most
Eternal's baron is also very good
really cool fun fact that m0no probably knows but I don't think many others do:
The Nightmare Imp was originally supposed to appear in Midway's port of DOOM for the PlayStation alongside the Nightmare Spectre. I believe this is the only publicaly available image of the original Nightmare Imp, originating from the November 1995 issue of Maximum game magazine https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/892238793174818848/1432843384778784798/image.png?ex=690286e3&is=69013563&hm=d31bbd0ba0ea740feb03150ef97004cd32578d26c6b1f2940263101a0bde42de
But i just don't really like 2016's baron
sadge
Would've been dope if they introduced classic barons in harbor of souls when you leave the cosmic realm
green blooded dark ages barons of hells and gladiator hell knights please. ill even fund it with my own cash to make that happen
What a missed opportunity
Also for the longest time
Seriously, what a missed opportunity
I thought the 2016 baron had pants LOL
You're not the only one, but I thought that for the originals
should of had cosmic mancubus or doom 3 mancubus in cosmic realm levels, but i understand time contraints
as someone who has a 2016 skin modded baron in eternal, it does look pretty weird in that game
but 2016's lighting makes it work
Ye so instead they had some fat ogre
Khakis
I still think 2016 has the best general atmosphere and lighting in the modern trilogy
That's it's strong suit for sure
yah i started a mod to make it more "eternal". Ive been trying to give it hairy legs like the gladiator
Bro replace its face
I will say though the constant screeching and growling from demons, ESPECIALLY fodders gets horribly annoying
I BEG
easier said than done
Can't go 3 seconds without some bastard blowing my ears out
No I know obv
imps need to stfu for real
i tried in blender, im not there yet
We want a classic baron
On god
It's unaminous
Btw katsu do you think a 15 minute timer for 30 aggadon champions is doable
How do you spell that
In ripatorium
for sure
30 seconds for an agaddon is surprisingly forgiving
Aight lemme cook rq
if you have gauntlets it'll be a piece of cake (assuming you don't fuck up)
That's not how it works
That's for one agaddon
I'll use gauntlet first
ye I know you've gotta manage your resources and stuff
also you gotta wait for the spawn-in animations
Then i wanna try out dreadmace for fun
He's fighting like nine at once for a bunch of rounds
I assumed he meant 30 rounds of 1 agaddon in a row
Shut up vega

3 agaddon champions 10 respawn
Bruh
ah ok
15 minutes might be a little tight but you should be ok
some new info for those who want the big ol 100mm serrat fig
also I'm 95% sure agaddon champions have less health than regular agaddons
"Yes! The Doom Slayer pledge comes with your choice of either an exclusive sculpt of Doom Guy or Doom Slayer. Other peripherals that are explicitly marked as Kickstarter-Exclusive are, of course, only available here. Check the main page for details.
Additionally, the Serrat Expansion containing the absolutely monstrous 100mm-base model of the dragon, Serrat, is exclusive to the All In pledge of this Kickstarter. Don't miss out!"
it's just that they're harder to falter
they die wayyyy faster imo
I believe champions/leaders have 100k while regular ones have 105k
does his red projectile break your shield instantly?
I dread playing ressurrection
Yes.
Also show up when you buy the 75£ add-on so just a wee bit confusing
even if you avoid the melee swing?
A cyberdemon and agaddon😭
optional encounter btw
You can avoid it but it's soooo fast
Phew
just stay a little further back
It's much harder with other demons pelting you
of course
You gotta either risk it for the biscuit
Or die
It's not really the same on relatively normal settings
Especially when there are maintains
Revenant🤮
Revs suck on max sliders
double speed tracking skulls 🥰
You're 90% of the time either facing left or right
I just died somehow and it said “Killed by ???“, what does it mean?
To dodge those 🤬 skulls
I do remember this. Really interesting I think.
either self-damage from the rocket/grenade launcher or environmental damage
where was it?
Somewhere in chapter 11.
actually it might say "Killed by Doom Slayer" if you face rocket yourself
lol
you're gonna have to give me a name lmao
I don't know the numbers
I forgot the name ngl
Bingo
using ricochet/pincushion in some of those arenas is a death sentence
But there were no demons left and I didn’t shoot at anything (I also didn’t see anything that would be considered “environmental damage“ that could kill me after rechecking the place).
so you just died?
Oh and when the caco/rev does their hitscan attack?????????
Yeah.
never heard of that happening in sentinel command station before
unless you got hit by some fireball trap
They might've just touched some hazard
There were also no traps.
no idea then sorry
Did you have low health?
It’s fine. Maybe just a glitch lol. Either way idm since it’s not like I’m playing on ultra nightmare.
I was close to low health if I remember correctly.
Like 80 HP or smth
Idk about that
Idk I feel like it would be really good
Maybe on hurt me plenty.
Used to max sliders so I can't accurately measure anything anymore
Idk about ultra violence.
It's just alllll hard
Max sliders?
Ye it's nightmare with all sliders maxed to their most difficult settings
I see
Ye
@green estuary Ok i just did it with like a minute left
My dual-barrel Plasma Rifle shoots from the wrong place instead of the barrels. Does anyone else have this bug?
You will never guess what weapon i used
But yeah these last like a third of a second long
They're ridiculous
idk ravager or something
or accelerator/ssg
impaler possibly
Ravager with slowburn
I could never tbh. I’m too casual of a console gamer to play Doom The Dark Ages on nightmare mode with max sliders lol
The upgrade that makes max firerate way faster
it's great against more static enemies
I'm a console gamer it's possible
Not that fun tho
I play in ps5
Yeah, but I’m too casual.
so makes sense to use it against agaddons
It worked well against these beefy boys
although why they mega nerfed it against komodos I'll never know
I was gona use impaler but it's such a comically op weapon that i stayed away from it
the movement penalty against the komodo fireballs is so tough to work around
I still use the ravager for komodos
you shouldn't
Not slowburn ravager though
it's kinda just handicapping yourself
Yeah, my nightmare difficulty run on Doom 2016 is already mildly fun for me lol, so I won’t even bother with The Dark Ages when I already die from time to time on ultra violence.
Imagine only using the ravager on max sliders
The upgrade that removes speed penalty
I would jump.
even worse, because they nerfed the ravager as a whole against komodos
I also use pulverizer against komodos
Ye just pursue what's fun
so even the ignition upgrade is affected
Cause the speed buff comes in clutch
Makes the fireballs dodgeable
And i might be wrong but i'm pretty sure the komodo is fat enough to eat most of if not all of the shards of the pulverizer
I think I'd have more fun fighting komodoes on more normal settings, but as of now they're genuinely horrible
They're broken and annoying
And honestly no matter what settings you play on, their turrets are dumb.
Get rid of them.
how else did we get cosmic/demon hybrids? did a demon stork drop them in?
No dude genetic splicing
They did not bang
Brochacho
Is it splicing or engineering I'm not sure
tell that to the poor shamblers and their bastard cosmic baron offsprings
that is what they want you to beleive
But they're not related
Beleeeeeive
Ppl talk abt the best game of 2025, but what was the worst????
Mindseye
i dont have the worst, but i have the biggest disappointment
you'd probably have to narrow that down to the worst among mainstream games
I looked up top 10 video games in 2025
which one
Dark ages never popped up
for me it was Stormgate, lots of potential and promise, now its dead
Silent hill F?
You know what does pop up
I've seen alot of backlash towards that game
Borderlands 4.
Like ALOT
Ugh
oops! all hitstop
it's just how mainstream a game is
doesn't have anything to do with popularity
they also gave MGS delta a 9 lmao
Tbf this year was packed as hell
Nvm.
Wait why is that bad
I've heard it was pretty good
it's a carbon copy of MGS3
It is?????
Damn it
Speaking of dissapointing games
Gonna try out LN3
It was my birthday present
Might aswell finish it
In D16, the game has no variability in the gameplay, if you make a mistake in the arena, it’s almost always death
what does making a mistake leading to death have to do with variety
that's just the game being unforgiving on nightmare
No the game has variable gameplay it just never incentives you to go the extra mile
Wait how much gigs is LN3 on disk
In Eternal there is a hook, mesmerizing grenades, punch
Yeah, that’s kinda what nightmare is supposed to be all about lol.
For me, D16 is still the most difficult in principle, I barely survived the nightmare and I have no desire to replay
I don’t like it when one mistake immediately leads to death
Idk man, for me D16 is the easiest.
It's both the hardest and easiest
(Except if we’re talking about nightmare difficulty, I haven’t tried nightmare on Eternal and The Dark Ages)
I remember perfectly well the circular arena in D16, where 2 hellish barons run on you and there are literally no options to escape
lol
Why would you try and escape tho?
I was dying for 3 hours on the nightmare until I was unlucky
