i prefer eternals gameplay by a slight but TDA is nothing to laugh at its like crunchy fun
being closer to the action in TDA with majority of the weapons being designed for close range makes it more entertaining as a power fantasy imo
I prefer TDA's gameplay over Eternal's but I don't play it enough to truly enjoy it

Eternal: you can kill anything in 0.3s with combos
TDA: you can kill 40 things in 3 seconds by locking in
Parrying to me is like breaking a weakpoint in eternal
the sound design of the parry is really good too, just like the weakpoint one

eternals boss to enemy thing may seem like it makes the actual boss encounters seem forgettable but theyre very memorable, im sure we all remember the marauder & doom hunter intro cutscene

I really like the icon fight and the aura, the music and the tension is good
just realizing most the boss themes are really forgettable i can only recall dark lord and icon
it's actually a toss up of which one I enjoy less between the icon and the dark lord
icon is literally just sensory overload (stupidly loud, ridiculous screenshake, flashing lights everywhere), which is easily my least part of eternal (not to mention it makes you use the crucible with its clunky ass animations)
and the dark lord is just incredibly boring and annoying

my own experiences, assuming no superweapon usage:
cyberdemon: not too hard but has a couple annoying attacks (7.5/10 fun)
hell guards: slightly harder than the cyberdemon overall but no attacks are that difficult (6.5/10)
spider mastermind: actually pretty tough because of her big health bar and attack variety (9/10)
doom hunters: not very hard unless you get greedy and try to get close to them (7/10)
gladiator: kinda hard but moreso just because of how inconsistently he staggers on his green eye flash (5/10)
marauder: 
khan maykr: more annoying with her fire hazards than actually hard (3.5/10)
icon of sin: without the bfg to destroy his body parts, is pretty hard; also incredibly unfun (1/10)
maligog: actually the hardest boss in eternal for me for whatever reason lol (2.5/10)
seraphim: not as hard as maligog for whatever reason but still challenging (6/10)

All we know abt DLC so far:
• Will expand mechanics from the base game in both combat and exploration
-Will be meaningful changes and not tacked on
-"from 2016 to Eternal"(to some extent)
-will increase mobility options
-new melee weapon(axe or Halberg)?
• Exploration has good backtracking and is especially required in this dlc(to progress meaningfully)
• There will be a hub(most likely the Kreeds ship)
• The puzzles are really fun
- a tool(mechanic) given will lead to some interesting traversal puzzles, not necessarily skill based like Eternal(but seems to be a huge factor either way based on its emphasis, and that will influence the puzzles and movement options in this dlc)
-lots of secrets and "optional" content that unlocks over time, not all at once when the campaign is finished
-some Metroidvania-esque elements
• There will be new ai that shake things up
• We will most likely be hunting the high council in dlc
-dlc will expand the story in ways that people want - "Will there be cutscenes in dlc", Hugo's response, " It'll be different, but there will still be a story"
-Marok is involved in the dlc(implies a larger role)
• We have a dlc concept art

the armor reduces damage, it doesn't negate it
you can still deal significant damage through it

and yknow the Vagary isnt designed for you to do that

shooting the armor also builds up the stun bar more, you're practically intnetionally extending the fight by not shooting at all

shield is a better fodder clear method (at least imo) and just about everything else seems to do more damage

even then regardless of this, the Vagarys ideal combat range is not as close as you have to get with the pulverizer, the game punishes you for getting too close to the Vagary
because the spread is so wide that usually the only way to hit most of the pellets is to stand very close
cause screw stand and fight tutorial, even though it applies to EVERY super heavy, not the first one you meet
but the vagary also happens to have the widest hitbox in the game along with the cyberdemon
so you don't necessarily have to stand that close to get most pellets to connect
if you can hit all the pellets then its got good dps
problem is the spread is absurdly wide so you're wasting most of it unless you use it for crowd control, which is usually better handled by the shield saw
I was researching tips to send you and just watched a guy do the entire thing while mostly using the pulverizer and ocasionally impaler, I think you're good bro

I feel like just about every morale leader is intentionally placed completely out of the way so the problem is as minimal as possible for the majority of the encounter. Like both leaders on Siege pt.1 stay in the complete back of the arena and you realistically shouldn't really have to deal with them unless you're staying back there for some reason

WHAT GOOD PEOPLE
I honestly rarely have that problem outside of the ripatorium. The Cyberdemon and leader Manc are on the complete opposite sides of the arena in Siege pt.1, I feel like you genuinely shouldn't be getting slammed from behind unless you're for some reason retreating back to the manc constantly or dragging the cyberdemon over to the manc
now this is actually a valid point
the thing with the leaders I believe is that as long as you dont get too close while killing their adds, they will just stay iddle and wont really try to attack you
yeah exactly, so it's really not a problem since every leader is intentionally placed far away from the arena's actual combat
if the pinky rider leader spots you at any point while the tyrant is still alive, you're in for a rough time
because the pinky is constantly gonna try to snipe you while you try to deal with the tyrant
yeah, best strat is to try to stay away from the leader until all the adds are down
but (imo) it's fairly easy to counteract if you just fight the cyberdemon while facing the direction of the pinky as well, since you can see his green attack in the distance and your parries have a high chance of lining up even if you don't

I believe the tyrant will even block the rider's shots with his massive body if you place yourself properly lol
gotta be comfortable with being against a wall with a tyrant around

something I also want to point out is that is seems like you're having a lot of trouble with mechanic variance. The Vagary is a good example of this - all super heavies are "stand and fight", the vagary simply requires you to stand and fight from a distance. The Aggadon and Komodo have the same sort of melee pattern mechanic as the rest of the enemy roster, but they just require more specific timing and a better understanding of attack patterns compared to the enemies that simply attack instantly (which is to be expected from the two toughest enemies in the game)
okay heres the thing though, the Vagary feels the most different
my ssg+parry strat works for every Super Heavy except Vagary
chainshot is your best friend against a vagary

It's the whole game moving at 150% speed which affects player movement. It wouldn't make much sense for everything to be at, say, 50% normal speed and everything else be slower BUT the player.

tested, the most I can get is a rough 40-45 on deck with all the settings on handheld with FSR on ultra performance. Still pretty smooth though

-Will be meaningful changes and not tacked on

EXPLORATION:
• Exploration has good backtracking and is especially required in this dlc(to progress meaningfully)
-There will be a hub(most likely the Kreeds ship)
• The puzzles are really fun
- a tool(mechanic) given will lead to some interesting traversal puzzles, not necessarily skill based like Eternal(but seems to be a huge factor either way based on its emphasis, and that will influence the puzzles and movement options in this dlc)

• There will be new ai that shake things up

I did pretty well when I first started, better than I thought I would. Then I got discouraged and overwhelmed by having to keep up the new mechanics memorization I think.
