I added a Vagary to my encounter setup on horde mode, but when the second wave began it upgraded itself to a Vagary Champion? Pleasant surprise. Not sure if horde mode has automatic difficulty scaling for its waves, this is the first enemy that changed its type on its own. I checked my encounter setup and didnāt select the Champion version. Very interesting.

Oh trust me I keep my distance. I was using the pulverizer for most of it. But he just doesn't go down and his acid does unreasonable damage when he spews it at you. His acid can reach so far. The area of denial is insane
New mode is good fun! Glad theyāre going to be updating it in the future, itās difficult to make well balanced encounters without trigger demons. Sometimes I donāt want all the heavies to spawn within the first wave

They do. They all use a token system. Iām not entirely sure how it works but the tokens allow demons to attack. Higher the difficulty the more tokens each demon has. Itās to ensure they donāt all attack at once. The projectiles are just reaching you at the same time

BTW my problem is NOT with the Vagary itself. Don't get it twisted. The Vagary is fine later in the game when he becomes a regular engagement. But the problem is, during his boss fight, you're still very underpowered and he just wrecks you. It's not balanced like later on in the game

same happens for every game, but being hot-headed about it won't make it any better, if anything it'll make it worse because you're not inviting the other side to actually see your point, which will lead to a bad feedback loop, and it'll lead to a negative experience for everyone
It's also making me see some enemies aren't made to be fighting by the side of others

The arena in ripatorium is really flat and there's basically almost no cover. You can have multiple superheavies you just need a spacious and well covered space. A good arena facilitates a good and beefy encounter

The problem is that enemies like Vagary and Agaddon don't work with other characters. You can see everytime we fought them they were alone with fodder or just had one other heavy with them. Fighting an Agaddon while fighting multiple enemies is a nightmare, because his skulls aren't balanced for this. He'll shoot the most lethal shots of the game because they'll break your shield constantly
