well yeah half of it is aura farming and causing pain to demons. im talking about the plot stuff in the testaments like the wretch and the great one

the testaments took part across a very long time, not a year or two

It's a very solid weapon against enemies that demand parries. Though you do have to buy the first upgrade to make that happen

It's easier when you realize that masteries just give you a weapon skin and don't count towards completion if you've already unlocked them on a different save.

There is nothing to fix that, the gameâs physics are simply built around raytracing. While this is not a design choice that I 100% fully agree on, they wonât be building the game from the ground up again for non RTX broz

im hoping the patch somehow fixes the weird audio issues i've been having, not sure how to describe it. but basically the audio gets distorted and sounds really strange

Rather, it's to avoid the strict slow nature of swapping a weapon in general in tda
Combine that with blocking while switching and it's much more lenient and you can do much more with it
theres no quick swap coming. they just said that they slightly increased swap speed, thats it. the game still isnt gonna let you hotswap weapons

They are looking into melee swapping
So watch out for developments on that

you actually still cant switch while blocking, the update just lets you now cancel the swap itself to block. giving the shield priority
double tap class to change weapons will drastically decrease swap speed for me

nah, if you try to swap while blocking, its gonna lower the shield visually and functionally i assume, but now you can press the shield button to block or parry, and it will actually stop the swap animation and block instantly

I think the pinky bite has one shot protection but they will change that after they add a visual update to the attack
But atm u have oneshot protection from it at least

From what I'd seen, the pinky bite overrides the Death pro too. It seems most attacks that leave a yellow slash/bite will ignore the death protection
but I think there are a few others as well
From what i remember, Hugo talked about it having no protection but they made it have oneshot protection again while they are working on a visual update for it
I guess pinkies just ignore death protection no matter what game theyâre in

Well, there is a relaxed atmosphere in general, even HUD is customisable, various funny skins, the doomguy room is also funny in places and just fan service, and in TDA there is only gloom, Iâm not even sure theyâll give a QuakeCon skin
If you think TDA is gloomy, I donât want to know what you think of doom 2016
And hell no, doom eternal is the very opposite of relaxed 
Everything is just full speed all the time, especially as you get to harder content
You relax for a second and you just die lmao
In TDA, the whole atmosphere of the game, the palette of colours and so on directly gives a serious Middle Ages, Iâm talking about it, as if different colourful skins from Eternal will not fit into the overall picture and therefore they will not be added
As if the developers initially chose such a gloomy tone and there will be no skins, except for those that are suitable for the game in their opinion
There are no skins in 2016, it doesnât apply to him

You donât even see the skin you have beyond your left forearm for 99% of the game

I was referring to skins in the context of discussions about the gameâs tone/atmosphere
Doom eternal feels like an arcade game to me and everything plays into that vibe in my opinion. From color pallette to UI to enemy designs to music to skins etc.
That's why it feels so charming to me. There just isn't a single AAA videogame that I can think of that had tried to create that sort of vibe. Nintendo are like the only ones who still make stuff like this

I feel like this game could totally work on the switch 2 if they just lower some textures, make it longer loading times and maybe do 30fps in handheld mode and 60fps on tv
I personally would've prefered TDA to have a more stylised HUD, but I like how they placed the elements on screen, especially the Mugshot with health and armor in the center
When the switch 2 got announced i think Marty mentioned that they only then got in talks with nintendo to see what they could do

Even at 50% damage, I shoot half a full round of shredder and half a full round of plasma rifle ammo on the thing and they just refuse to die

It definitely has the firepower to run it but you're most certainly NOT getting 60 fps, primarily due to ray tracing. Though with DLSS upscaling and framegen something like 40+ fps boosted to 120 should be plausible.

So does anyone else get waaaay more of a Byzantine/Roman vibe from the Sentinel Architecture than Gothic? I always thought the domes and spires gave off a much more Roman Empire look than anything too medieval frankly, which to me is way, WAY better because Byzantine architecture is underrated, it fits much more with the sentinel warrior culture, and Gothic architecture in games is starting to get old

I believe what people mean, is that the music isn't melodically engaging to them. Many of the Hell levels have heavy rising violins that don't go anywhere. I would stand to argue that the previous two games also only had a few standout tracks wheras this game has one that truly stands out, Unchained Predator. 2016 had BFG Division, while Eternal had TOTTFIY, Super Gore Nest, Meathook, and Blood Swamps. Eternal really improved on 2016 and had a serious sense of identity. I fully believe that experienced metalheads could pick apart Dark Ages' OST and find real artistic value in what they were doing, but a lot of it really does feel like just noise to the casual player
And on this end I rarely play on 100% damage because I can instakill MOST things
This criticism also applies to the art for me. There is always so much going on that the game can feel overwhelming in the presentation
Doom has become pretty overdesigned when it comes to the hell torment stuff to me. I kinda just glaze over it and barely notice it sometimes. But I know it's hard to have art to stick your eyes on when you're playing a game that's supposed to be always in motion

There's a reason the Dark Ages' story has been widely criticized. This is a poorly done attempt at a "deeper emotional story". We get hardly any characterization of the Slayer again, he has 1 word spoken and 1 emotional reaction of any kind. We are constantly skipping to the next story event with little to no time to let the drama of what's happening sink in. It's a space-spanning sci-fi epic with no characters to attach to since everybody is the same degree of straight-man

The Dark Ages is keeping some of the perceived minimalist storytelling from the previous games and adding a ton of meat to places where it didn't need it and thus creating a bigger empty hole. We're supposed to be sympathetic for the sentinels being attacked by the demons but the levels are still just giant playgrounds for the slayer and the few we even get NAMES OF either do nothing for the story and or are totally absent in the game

It feels like every new game that comes out, if we're not tearing the beating hearts out of a defenseless pregnant woman, I hear that the gore is "toned down" or "doesn't have impact."
