Bringing back the Father also means he will bring the Maykrs back, and given the Slayer's trauma from TDA and the Maykrs' actions I doubt he believes they should be given a second chance. Destroying the Father's Life Sphere was a pragmatic decision to ensure Urdak would not return and the Father could not oppose the Slayer in ending Davoth for good.
He also was probably pissed off at Samur and wanted to show him he was not in control like he assumed.

keep moving, prioritize the dangers demons first, upgrade the shotgun as soon as you can with the abilities that give you the most armor, use the second malee weapons and also upgrade it to max as soon as you can for armor and the first rune to max for armor. It's the easiest un from the nudoom (or was before update, donno now)

I was replaying 2016 and Eternal the past couple weeks.

2016 crashed three times on my playthrough. Twice were within two hours of each other.

Eternal crashed twice within 5 hours

Dark Ages crashed ZERO within 40 hours.

How did they fix up the crashing so well?

It was a problem before the game got patched iirc. Not sure exactly what caused it. I remember looking up the issue and some other people online were reporting similar instances. It’d essentially freeze your game when play testing it at whatever part was causing the problem, with a black bar appearing at the top. Removing it would only make the map more unstable and likely to repeat the problem.

I prefer Pandemonium over extra lives mode in Eternal. More punishing, better practice for UN. That’s just me personally.

In Eternal you could stock up on lives and the mode offered practically no challenge with the abundance of them in each level.

2016's #2 for me, especially due to SnapHaks (a modding technology for SnapMaps that makes SnapMaps have far less restrictions)

DOOM II is my #3 due to the awesome and super varied modding and WAD scene from the fans and community.

DOOM 64 is #4, but is my favorite old school Classic DOOM game from a vanilla standpoint (I.E. the base game, no WADs/mods)

But Dark Ages #1.

Tbh. I haven't really been that big on Eternal since 2023 or so.

Part of it is due to burnout from playing a lot (but also it's super buggy lol), but also my tastes changed a LOT since Eternal first came out.

My opinion on Eternal developed more and grew more sour, especially since the very questionable direction they took with the DLCs and Dark Lord and Seraphim stuff, and doing Samuel Hayden and VEGA extremely dirty
