Me personally, I just want more skins for everyone (Guns, Slayer, Serrat and Atlan), make sprint be fast in all directions, a more consistent music mix (Finishing move did amazing), and another game mode like Horde!

I know, I’ve been told I ask for a lot, but I love this game, and just want to see it thrive. I’m sure a lot of us are the same way, no?

Improvements I want:

• Buffed Arachnotron health (or at least resistance to the SSG).
• Retooled input buffering, lowering it for melee but raising it for weapon switching.
• Let us bind individual weapon classes, I do not like having to press two inputs to go for half my weapons.
• Let the player use the shield while switching weapons, or at least let us raise it. Really clunky mechanic that discourages switching weapons. No good.
• Make slow-mo optional, even though I like it.
• Make game speed not affect the speed of the Slayer's animations or voice lines, as anything above 110% begins to feel unnatural and choppy because of it.
• More extensive parry window slider, as the lowest setting still feels a bit forgiving.
• Nerf Hell Ship health, they take forever to kill and it's really tedious.

I always liked the idea that Doomguy and Thira were intimate before he became the Slayer, and now as the Slayer and after the Maykr mindfuckery he doesn't really have the potential for things like that anymore and it unnerves her. She's the only Sentinel who vocally advocates for the Slayer to everyone else, because she was close to the man he was before that.

I've always kinda felt the same way about Valen. I think he and Doomguy were probably good friends before the Divinity Machine. Their scene in Eternal in Exultia felt like it had personal history behind it.

I personally believe all of the lost he's suffered during doom 2 might've broken that social connection part with his humanity.
Doom 64 furthering Doom Marine giving into himself to further his hatred for the demons. Lost everything that he's known and only left with hurt and rage, whilst still striving against hell to save and protect life.

My belief is that Doomguy healed significantly from his trauma while he was with the Sentinels and before the Machine, in part because he was around people he cared about, whose culture fit him well, and even though he was still fighting fucked up demons it was with people.

I think this, in part, is why he seems to care so much about Argent D'Nur. He kneels for Novik despite almost always rejecting authority, he respects Valen's wishes and seems to be... somewhat touched(?) by his appearance at Immora. The Argent D'Nur levels in Eternal are all painted by a general sense of sorrow and loss - something beautiful has been destroyed and the Slayer mourns it.

Makes more sense why he possibly mentally heard his own child and wife dying as he was trying to break free of the makyrs. The sentinels is like family to him.

Thira gives her whole speech where she says the Sentinels have always been a people of faith, but that now they must question who that faith should be placed in. Ultimately she says they must have faith in themselves rather than a God.
This is the theme that paints the Slayer's actions in Eternal. His opposition to the Khan Maykr, his bitter betrayal of the Seraphim, crushing the benevolent Father's Life Sphere, killing Davoth - aside from the very personal things that motivate him, ultimately the Slayer's ideology is that Gods do not matter and humans do. He is ideologically and fundamentally against the continued existence of deities like the Father or Davoth - and just as against the existence of idiots who delude themselves into believing they're "gods," like the Khan Maykr and Samuel Hayden.

To him the Khan Maykr is no different from the old commanding officer who ordered him to fire on civilians.

So TDA evoking that theme near the end tells me it was likely something he shared with the Sentinels.

You have to remember that Doom has a certain perception to it that will paint how people interpret the story going into it.
When a new fan who has seen Doom memes and talked to Doom powerscalers plays Doom 2016 for the first time, they will take note of the Slayer being fucking angry about everything, ignoring Hayden and smashing shit, etc... the things that best fit into the whole "too angry to die" rage golem thing that is popular.

And, in all seriousness, the story is not the main focus of Doom. It's received a lot more focus over the years, I love the story/lore to death - the lore I've been hyperfixating on for years. But objectively the primary focus of Doom is its gameplay and that will never change.

Just like how the majority of fans won't suddenly look super deeply into Doom's story, the majority of fans won't suddenly look super deeply into, say, TLOU's gameplay. TLOU has very solid gameplay but nobody plays it for that, they play it for the story.

Eternal and TDAs' lore and story aren't focused on pandering to anyone. 2016's story is mainly ripping off Doom 3 because of uninterested executives and shit. But Eternal and TDA do not give a fuck about anyone's vision but their own.

If 60% of fans don't care about the lore, that means 60% of fans won't bitch when the lore doesn't fit their expectations.

That's 60% of fans not influencing the developers with shitty opinions about how the lore is bloated or the Sentinels are generic or they need to make Hell more Lovecraftian or the Maykrs should be good guys or Samuel Hayden should be the big bad, etc...

Heres my 2 cent on TDA's music.

So we ALL have heard about the TDA's music complain. Tbh, I don't have any problem with the composition fo the actual song but I now quite understand what problem that I feel when I listen to the OST in the game; it's the drums. Every single hit on the snare, toms, and every drum part sounds like a massive fuckin explosion and it sounds like it's being played inside a of an empty church hence the long decay of the drums reverb.

Because of that, everything just feels so drowned out especially the guitars, try comparing the drums on 2016, Eternal, and TDA, you'll hear it even if you're not a producer or an engineer.

This is just wishful thinking (and late night imaginations) but if TDA or some other game they’ll make focuses on the Civil War all the way to when Doomguy becomes sealed, I want them to focus on the story and the emotional impact it can have. Idk who it was who mentioned that Doomguy may feel like at home in Argent D’ Nur given its culture of fighting and its people but having that sense of peace disturbed and destroyed would be amazing as a story. When the Sentinels end up dying in hell and Doomguy can’t do anything to save them, it creates a parallelism for when the soldiers on Mars couldn’t survive the invasion and Doomguy was too late to save them. And then when he wakes up from the sarcophagus, he is reliving his nightmares because he’s back at a UAC facility again at Mars facing the same issue again. It gives new context to his actions in 2016 because he’s just fed up the entire time. It’s a great way to wrap up the series in a neat bow
