Yeah I’m pretty disappointed with the OST. There’s a couple creative ones like “What Lies Below”, but it’s mostly the same types of riffs and tempos throughout each track. It’s not bad by any means, a lot of it is baddass, but I was hoping for something a little more defining.
Tracks don’t have an identity of their own is what I’m saying, I guess? Whereas in every other Doom game, the music fits with each level. You could move the tracks around in this one and it would all pretty much feel the same.

Gameplay sure is worth it but my issue with it is its not a lot of depth compared to Eternal which builds off 2016's mechanics.

Swapping weapon mods that had their own upgrades, runes, Suit upgrades. Here it has those upgrades but some weapons power creep others. Like the Shield will take up a Plasma role. Or another weapon takes up the shotgun role because weapon swapping is not apart of the combat loop.

The gameplay is great but i feel it comes flawed once you get the hang of it and realize the shield is just incredibly a strong factor as a weapon.

if i didnt care about this game then i wouldn't criticize the forced ray tracing, i loved doom eternal when i beat it and then i saw the trailer for dark ages i knew it would be best game of 2025 for me, then i saw benchmarks that 3080 would get only ~80fps which is extremely disappointing since i got 240fps minimum in doom eternal and doom has alyways been praised for its optimization, so seeing the game runs 4x worse and looks maybe 1.3x better at best is extremely annoying, and its all because of having full ray tracing forced
