So far, it’s at the very least enjoyable. Can’t tell you if I prefer it over 2016 or Eternal though. It’s vastly different from the 2. Even moreso than Eternal is from 2016. It takes 2-3 chapters to define its combat and get things rolling.
The vehicle sections are fine. The mech is awesome, but the dragon feels tedious.

Please learn what these features are and how they work before you decide that they are just a setting that can be turned off.. During the transitional period between RTL and non-Raytraced they were doing both pre-baked and raytraced lighting (all lighting for both) which is why it could be turned on and off. The reason raytracing is mandatory here is because they did not make the game to look normal with prebaked lighting, I imagine RT GI is the main thing here where if you turned off raytracing you would just get nothing but blackness

Raytracing is definitely not a gimmick, it used to be something only used in prerendered animations and such, it's still in it's early stages though I have an rt card there's some weird side effects like light pop-in, shimmering, etc. It depends on the game's implementation of it, some games look really good with raytracing, others look better with it off.

I've got similar specs and it runs well for me. i7-14700F, 4060 ti, and 64 GB of RAM. My ti only has 8 GB of memory though, not the 16 GB version. Also installed to an SSD.

I get around 60-70 FPS with all settings on Ultra, with DLSS set to Quality, and no frame gen. No dips below 60 so far either, up to chapter 8. What ingame settings are you using?

Definitely overkill for gaming right now, you'll probably need a cpu/motherboard upgrade before you need that much capacity, unless you do productivity software as well

It massively opens up once you get the shieldsaw in chapter 2. The stunlock and parry combos can get wild. My advice is to think of the shield as an offensive tool more than a defensive one. It's way better at closing gaps and holding down certain enemies while you lay into them with weapon combos.

I don't know if I'm tripping or not, but I think if you swap to a different gun after a perfect parry, it speeds up the swapping animation, so you can shoot almost instantly. I started doing that on chapter 7 before I stopped playing for the night, and I noticed that I was swapping weapons a lot faster. Almost seems on par with Eternal's speed once you get the timing down.

Level 1 is by a significant margin the worst level in the game. A lot of enemies are deliberately spongier to teach you the tutorial mechanics, and they also outright disable mechanics until you reach their dedicated parts in the chapter, which limits what you can do. Level 2 is where the game stops railroading you.

Is anyone else's music acting up... weird? I have ambiance, and all fine, but when the fight starts, the music never really accelerates?I thought it was the difficulty issue (that I kill them too fast) so I cranked it up and it's the same. I mean IT DOES accelerates at some points, but it feels off. It stops when it shouldn't, and starts when I have like 1 imp left. I suppose it's something that needs patching, OR is it the PC issue? The latter could be possible cuz I barely pass UNDER th eminimum. Had to open my pc case and put it on the window. >.> CPU was going 100C. Now it works fine... Doesnt go over 80.
