I'm not sure if I'll be able to really answer what you're asking (even if I included spoilers) or add to what Allstin is trying to say, but... I think TDA is seperate enough that it doesn't really overshadow anything that comes after it. What really ends up connecting the stories (at least imo) is the Argenta Civil War and everything that happens around it. TDA presumably takes place years and years before all of that happens, so we're only really given the context needed for them to jump into what actually connects the Sentinel storyline with the other two modern entires in a direct manner. So in other words, it's so distant from forming a full 100% connection that it doesn't touch on any elements that would overshadow the conflicts of 2016 or Eternal

The DLC will seemingly focus on something else entirely, possibly even something that wasn't mentioned in any codex entries.|| TDA is very much a better look at an active planet invasion that expands on the elements they've introduced in modern doom and not an essential plot point necessary to understanding how everything connects. The invasion of Argent D'Nur spans across multiple planets and happens in real time, but it still feels smaller in scale than Eternal's earth invasion. We're watching an earlier version of Hell attempt to overtake a race of people that has known nothing but war and battle since they were first given life by the wraith call. ||Hell would certainly be successful without the Slayer (and the game makes that clear)|| but it doesn't feel like it's on the same level as Earth being bent over and punished so easily

The game is massive. Folk need to remember that "Hey, bluray can only hold so much" the best one is a triple layer disk, which holds 100gb, but, that means you have to pay more for it, as it's more expensive to make.
