1. Music surpassed expectations! I thought the Cosmic Realm tracks were a tad bit underwhelming, as I was expecting something on par with Urdak from Eternal, but I'll touch on that a bit more in my spoiler review.

2. Story is leagues better than 2016 and Eternal, there's no competition. It's an actual story with twists, turns and badass moments that felt much more natural and earned than what was featured in Eternal.

3. The Atlan was never unbearable! It starts out solid (but a bit long) and then gets really good by the final mission. The first Dragon mission is too long and simple but the following missions are all pretty solid, I think it earns its place in Doom

4. I've been saying 9/10, but I don't think a simple number rating system works well for games that are this good. I would give all three recent Doom titles a 9/10 but it's not the same type of 9/10 (if that makes sense). TDA is a very worthy successor to the previous modern entries and I couldn't be happier with the final result.

I think that's one of the harder things to compare. It's an entirely different beast so the difficulty comes through in different ways. I'm also more skilled now than I was when I first played Eternal at launch, which makes it harder to compare what it feels like to start on a beginner skill level. I'd say as a whole it's a lot easier to actually get into the core combat this time, you don't need hundreds of hours to really get going
