this is silver
Its the same colour đ
So what youâre saying is that the white thing on his chest lets him go god mode?
i see 2 colors
Because when the electricity comes out of this thing is when his eyes get the yellow around them, looks like control to me
Not exactly. I do agree it has something to do w maykrs, I'd say it's something else that they are doing
IS IT WHITE AND GOLD OR BLACK AND BLUE?
ITS THE DRESS ALL OVER AGAIN
He doesnât look like he likes whatever itâs doing
I've always seen it as black n blue
Never could see how someone sees it as gold and white
but yea nowhere else on the armor is gold, its all silver and green and brown
the buckle above it and the shoulder armor is silver
the ring is more of a cream color
Ehh I can kinda see it
Thatâs his buzz light year button and when you press it it alerts the maykrs that heâs being naughty
Yall watch, the game is gonna release and we'll be all wrong đ
I also might be coping bcs I already hate drawing TDA slayer
I just thought the thing he was saying over the footage was what the footage was of
its actually uac tech that samuel sent back in time and secretely installed on the slayers armor for no reason
SAMUR MAYKR PLEASE
I want to know how maykr drones change into the other forms of maykr
The maykrs without their masks kind look like the spider mastermind
Okay then what is the khan maykrs deal
And why does she look like a spider mastermind under there
She's already transfigured, it's apart of their deathstate
Not a lore head I genuinely donât know this
It's just a design choice probably đ
Fair enough I guess lol
Maykr facial structure is weird
Maybe it was just to make her look like the final boss of 2016
They have several mandibles when transfigured, yet normally they do not
Two lower mandibles, 2 primary mandibles
We see it in Samur's design in particular
Yeah he looks totally organic
This tells me that they eat big food
Their jaws are interesting
They also lack ears
Fat maykr is the way he is because committed to many mukbang
So they basically become organic before they die?
Yup, pretty sure
Okay that makes sense
It's a normal thing, it's probably bcs Samur, in his stupid glory, moved the father's life sphere
Their life cycle is fucked up rn
I'd think it's like a bug
I hope the maykrs becoming lovecraftian horrors ties into quake somehow
Okay so basically they use hell as a way to extend their lives
Kinda like how humans wanted to use argent for energy
Eldritch horrors beyond comprehension :D
Hell makes argent energy iirc
Yeah
Mabye shub (word i can say) is just a fucked up maykr
Who?
Quake 1 villain
Which kinda makes maykrs similar to humans in that way of wanting to use hell to their own devices
Idk how hell kinda comes out looking like the least evil faction
Cause it's not :3
Yeah itâs more like a force of nature that gets used by other factions seemingly
The entire doom series is kinda a criticism on corporate greed
It makes no sense that samuel hayden returned to his maykr form in the ancient gods because while in his robot body he wasnât affected by hells corruption but while in his maykr body he was.
Right, I get that, well it wasnât as clear in the old ones but itâs definitely a major theme in the current ones
And Doom 3
Franchise against corporate greed owned by Microsoft

Ironic isn't it
Shh donât tell anyone doom has themes, thereâs enough talks of it being woke for daring to have difficulty sliders lmao
Also chat do we risk conversation w a person I don't like to get the eternal art book + ravioli or nah
Tbh the samuel hayden being a maykr plot twist felt out of nowhere imo
INCLUSIVITY IN MY DOOM
It's been like that since at least late 2016
It's already a thing in eternal
And TAG just confirmed it
I might have missed it then
They hinted at it a bit. I still feel like they couldâve revealed it more naturally though
I feel that I was promised a sword fight with Hayden and it was ripped from me
And VEGA's twist was obvious as soon as we saw the first maykr
âI only doo doo farded for the good of humanityâ
Hi vega
Hi, @plain iron.
HOLY SHIT IS THAT VEGA
Toilet humor on Discord...
âAm i the father dr.haydenâ out of context that line just sounds like Vega is worried that his wife cheated on him
The Vega level is the best one in 2016 imo
I love how we are shutting parts of him down
AAAAAH VEGA I LOVE YOU!!!
I think the slayer deciding to save him makes the slayer more human and symphonic
Itâs probably the best character moment he gets in the game
id software did a great job of endearing us to the slayer
I dont like the plot twist of vega being the father
i dont like the plot twist of samuel being the seraphim
i liked samuel better as a human
It's been there since 2016 as well đ just look at VEGA's core
vegas core is literally a makyr head
Ngl never saw that connection until now
Were maykrs ever even mentioned in 2016?
In the codex
I hate when folk say its a "rushed" thing. Like... look at him
Yup, the seraphim in particular
2016 story is basically all codex
I like reading
Maykrs werenât designed yet? You canât say it was intentional from the start of they werenât visually designed yet
look at it.
Perhaps they worked backwards from vegaâs design
That's a very unlikely choice
And it wasnât decided until they made eternal
The maykr concept design was all over the place

I mean it's really easy to miss ngl
I do have a few personal favourites
Then once they decided they wanted Vega to be the father they could have based their design off of his
That doesnât seem unlikely to me
This is a chicken and egg thing ha
I love fatass maykr
Lemme get the art book (and a ravioli)
The egg came first
The chonkyr is one of my favourite hear me outs
Bcs I ain't even joking when I'd say I'd kiss the chonkyr
I wonder how he is gonna get cooked by the slayer
No what Iâm saying is that Vega looking like a maykr might have not been the case until they designed maykrs and therefore not intentional until after the fact
Meaning it was not actually set up in 2016
Its theoretically possible
But is it likely
Not necessarily
Eehh we could ask the main artist. Emerson Tung
Besides his design, what else about Vega points to him being the father in 2016?
the codex also says that the main part of vega's something something was found at the argent fissure
Lemme get 2016 up
I don't think the story was planned out AT ALL before eternal tbh
maykr runes on some of vega's machinery seen when you go to blow him up
But the maykrs werenât designed until eternal right?
And that is very easy to miss
I approve of the Quake 4 profile picture
Hehe my controller looks like samuel
Yeah but it was there
ofc it's def likely that they put them there first to make shit look cool (connecting it w parts used to make him being found in the argent fissure) and thought of the maykrs later
Iâm legit curious because Iâm not super familiar with the lore and I know people that were down with 2016âs lore and got mad at some retconning
Thatâs what I assumed, I didnât think it was properly set up and just got turned into something else in eternal
matthew kane my stroggy blorbo <3
I played quake 4 recently and it just didnât do it for me, the art design was nice but I wasnât super into the level design or gameplay
Thatâs his cut design :p
My main question with the canon is when the fuck did the betrayers son get resurrected. It must have been before doom 2 because the icon was in doom 2
Doom 2âs icon is a different universe right?
THE LONGER YOU PLAY ON YOUR CONTROLLER THE MORE WORN OUT YOUR BATTERIES WILL BECOME
Like doom 2âs earth is not the same as Eternalâs earth
tbh i love it mainly bc of the stroggification scene
forced body modification is like one of my favorite tropes ever
No. The classic and modern games share the same universe
The slayer originates from doom 2âs earth but he now defends the modern earth
No theyâre different dimensions
RELA REAL REAL
Yuppers, different earths
The slayer comes from doom 2 but heâs now in a different dimension
Where is this. Mabye i just missed it because i never fucking read the codex
But hell is a conduit that connects all dimensions or something
Yup
Itâs wild shit
icon of sin dies in classic doom -> valen's son is used to resurrect it -> icon of sin dies in doom eternal
I think itâs referenced in 2016âs codex and confirmed in an eternal cutscene
:[
The sentinels bring the slayer from hell before he gets in the divinity machine
Hell where he was trapped after doom 64
Shout to Samur dawg
Am I getting this right?
Keeping me sane
Pretty much :]
i found one (1) new piece of quake 4 fanart i haven't seen before and i can't stop thinking about it
Iâve picked up just enough of these gamesâ lore to kinda get how itâs connected to the old games lmao
that's happened w some doom art and it was delightful
it'd what happened w gearsbroth and it was delightful
Itâs a really cool scene, I wish the whole game was that cool
there's only three (3) kane fanarts that i know of đ
Even after stroggification, the level design is so cramped you donât really have room to flex your new abilities
and then the narrative does basically nothing with kane's stroggification afterwards đđ
Enemies are a bit too spongey, level design boils down to âgo here then come backâ
Idk it had potential and it has a really cool art style that is super impressive for its time
I think Iâm meaner to it than doom 3 because doom 3 isnât always trying to be an action game
Chat I'm too fucking anxious to get the ravioli out of the fridge
hey did you know that it was supposed to have a expansion pack titled awakening that got cancelled
Huh, no I didnât
yeah there's a bunch of concept art that got released on imgur a while back; not sure if i can link it here but i'll dm you
Wonder if that would be a bit too much work
Sweet
I love nightdive and they worked wonders with Quake 2
But Quake 4âs level of detail and stuff might make it much more difficult to remaster, especially if they were to make sweeping gameplay changes to make it a bit more palatable to quake fans
couldn't dm you :[
i was thinking that yeah but also nightdive recently remastered the thing videogame and that's like an xbox era game so maybe
Oh Iâm sorry I probably have it turned off from a server thing
There I added you, you should be able to dm me
Wow this is neat
Almost reminds me of some HL2 concept art
a few whole 3d models in there too
Interesting that they canned it
Was Microsoft partially funding quake 4 since it was a 360 launch title?
ÂŻ_(ă)_/ÂŻ
iirc the reason why it got cancelled was because it wasn't performing up to expectations i think
DLCs feel so different from old shooter expansions because itâs usually the same team, a lot of old expansions were made by different studios haha
Like TAGâs quality is much closer to the base game than say Ground Zero is to Quake 2
a new weapon and multiplayer maps that would've come with the expansion got added in an update tho
yeah
Well thatâs good at least, was Raven doing the expansion?
Or was it being outsourced?
awakening was being handled by ritual entertainment
I kinda miss how theyâd just let random studios make continuations to quake haha
funnily enough that's the same studio that did scrouge of armagon for quake 1,
Imagine if they were just like âyeah raven, make the ancient gods part 1â
Which one is that? Is that the one with the Egypt levels?
I always forget
the first expansion
armagon is the cyborg final boss
the one with time travel in it is dissolution of eternity
Ahhh yeah
I think I like the second one a bit more
The first one kinda became amorphous to me after a few levels
Sure yeah I guess this is unrelated lol
It's hard to get a feel for the challenge from these gameplay videos.
Since the game is gonna be relatively slow, how can it be hard?
OG Doom's difficulty came more from the insane level design rather than the enemies. The Dark Ages wont have that either.
Can't be resource management either because the enemies drop all the resources, as is standard in this new era of Doom.
Maybe it'll be a projectile hell, like a first person Binding of Isaac
Btw, did did anybody see if there'll be a dash mechanic in this game?
Seemingly no dash mechanic though it looks like you can snap to your shield saw
My main worry that i constantly bring up is that if its too different from the previous entries they wont have anything new to introduce to make a new quake or heretic ect
I started my first playthrough of Frontiers yesterday actually, nice timing lol
i played it like 10 time's already
the easiest 100% in my life
Nice nice
I donât think I have ever 100% a game
it's okay
Nah I donât care that much i just thought it was funny I think the closest I got too was crackdown 2
what game is called crackdownđ
The game where your a juiced up super cop fighting criminals with enough fire power to take over a small country
yeah is shows
Sadly the series died with the third installment đ
Cant wait for the switch port
So is anyone pre-ordering? I'm actually thinking about going for the collector's bundle.
Iâve pre ordered, I was considering getting the collectors but I thought it was out of stock
im gonna play this like in 2030 lolol
I just tried the Bethesda website and it was gonna take me to check out. Gonna hold off till I earn a bit more though. Really wish Gamestop had collector's edition so i don't have to pay the full price immediately.
you can check other websites that have it i tihnk
mb
but you can check fanatical, sells it for a bit cheaper
around 80 bucks instead of 100
For the collector's edition?
yes
Yeah dude the game is running down my pockets
its 330 for the collectors edition for me
which is insane
That is actually crazy
i am NOT paying for thatđ
who else is feeling a huge retcon coming with this game? ngl I'd be up for that after seeing the carnage that tag 2 has caused lol
maybe the slayer could retcon himself back into reviving the franchise for all we'd know lol
I feel like if anything is retconned, it'll be something thats small. I don't think they'll go and change something big in the story
there were retcons with each game, some times even between levels
I wodnl't trust any major plot developments in Doom Eternal. The only thing we can really stand by is the slayer testments for now
"Dark Lord is Actually the Doom 3 Marine"
I assume ur Australian? If so that's a rather decent price for a collectors edition
The premium edition itself is over 100 bucks
The statue itself would make up the price
Then you add shipping and conversion fees
Overall, rather decent for its price
If @latent fractal is Australian, then it must have sucked to deal with video games being more expensive in the land down under. As if having the government decide which movies/TV shows/games are appropriate for children or not wasn't bad enough.
Yup, as a fellow Australian, its fucking balls
As an American im buying things while i can because of the incoming terrifs
canadian
yall better make dark ages free
actually make it negative money
the devs pay the players for buying it
Uh?
i think bro doesnt like the dark ages
its ok bro alot of people suffered during that time
Can't believe someone stole it
That woman from the dark ages stole something important....my heart
what is a woman?
your mom
wait really?
No
oh ok
Just curious to see if anyone knows if the system requirements (storage) has been released for PlayStation?
Youâre going to need at least 100gb of free storage.
ID optimizes their games well, but this is the biggest Doom game theyâve made yet. Itâs also much more demanding than previous installments.
Doom Eternal sits around 100 gigs with DLC included
Doom 2016 is about 70-80gb iirc
Thank you. Now i just have to get internal storage because im tapped.
2016 is 60 gigabytes, eternal is about 80 gigabytes with dlc so yeah 100gb is reasonable
Ah, my bad then. My SnapMap data probably inflated the storage a bit. 2016 sits at 78 gigs for me.
2016 on my end sits at 65 gigabytes
Lemme settle the debate. Is doom the dark ages woke for having a difficulty sliders? (It's not woke people)
Absolutely fucking not
Gulps
I donât know if I have that đ
I donât think there is an actual person that thinks this
That isnât trolling
Will doom the dark ages be available for nintendo switch oled?
No, it wonât be available for any switch model
So I'm assuming that the champion of hell will most likely be a boss fight in TDA either in the main campaign or dlc depending on when it takes places. What do you all hope the boss fight is like? I really hope it's nothing like the icon of sin boss fight đđ
Apparently to some, accessibility options are woke
Fellas, is it woke to enjoy a game? A fine succulent Chinese game?
Woke lost its meaning
Now it just means anything you donât like
You haven't lived if you never spent a day feeling like a wet sock
no
how the hell is that even a conversation?
People trying to create controversy for views
Shouldnât be available for any Switch, including S2.
I doubt id will bother with a last-gen port.
think the answer is pretty obvious here, its not woke
"woke" has lost all of its meaning when a game is adding a feature meant to cater to both new and experienced players
god forbid a game adds an inclusive feature
It will be on the 3ds
so should I expect to see Daisy or does that happen after this game?
Daisy happened in classic doom.
and this is like way before that, so yeah I guess that would be too early
Actually, TDA is after the Classic Doom games
it's after 64, before 2016
oh I thought it was like a prequel to everything
nah
so that means Daisy's already dead
yes
i guess I shouldn't expect to see Doomguy's family either
correct
We probably never will
i dont think anyone actually cares about his family, like thats not what the series is about
Raise your hands if you are all excited for TDA?
The series is however, about corporate greed
The series is also about doomslayer going to hell and fighting demons.
Who'd you think brought the demons to earth in nudoom?
It was due to corporate greed, and general disregard for the small people
Do we have any photos of the new armor where the back is visible under the cape?
Working on a 3D model and realized I don't have any references for that
no, but I typically prefer normal difficulty options
did the portal open on purpose or was it an accident
They released an image of the concept art for the Dark Ages design that has a back image without the cape. Can't share the link but if you look up the Dark Ages Digital Artbook and Soundtrack on the Xbox site, it's there.
It's pretty cool
Is DOOM 3 really canon?
Yes but it has nothing to do with the main story. Doom Eternal confirmed thereâs different Earths/Worlds, which Urdak and Hell have access to.
Doom 3 is its own separate story. Canon to the universe of the games but disconnected from the main timeline. @empty ridge
Why is it canon?
Why isn't it?
Itâs been confirmed to be by the developers.
Thereâs also small hints towards its existence in the latest games, like the Soul Cube being in the Lazarus Labs of Doom 2016.
Could you tell me when it was stated by the devs?
Sure itâs mostly a neat Easter egg, but it also ties is with the lore 2016 and Eternal set up
I donât remember the exact video, but it was during one of the Ancient Gods DLC streams a while back.
Hugo Martin, the lead game director, said it was. Iirc
I just watched an interview where Hugo martin denied it was canon
Itâs not canon to the main story, but itâs canon to the âDoom universeâ, if that makes sense. I remember that being clarified at some point.
Itâs also the general consensus the community has.
I'll search it, the soul cube is no argument, it breaks the lore
I found that in TAG1 there is Betrugers castle
Still searching for the stream
As Iâve said, Hell and Urdak transcend all worlds. It explains why Eternal takes place on a different Earth. The same argument could be made for Doom 3âs existence.
That's no argument, the fact it can fit doesn't mean it's the correct jigsaw puzzle of the same group
That's why i want hugo words
I think DOOM 3 is canon, the only useful thing that has been said is the stream of the ancient gods
I doubt youâll be able to find it without watching them all to be honest. Given I canât cite the exact one, I wouldnât bother. Fair to be skeptical though.
Just to clarify, Doom 3 has no connection to the Slayerâs story. The protagonist in 3 is not related. Itâs just its own world. See it as the MCU or DCU, or whatever you want to call it. Itâs like that.
I know, i have talked about DOOM 3 as part of the canon
Ah gotcha, mb then
Doom 3 is canon, but it takes place in another multiverse, the thing that connects it is that there's only 1 hell
Exactly this
It isn't relevant to the slayer's life, but it is canon
God! Read the channel first
Itâs pretty neat how thereâs 1 Hell across all games. I like the creative liberties Eternal took with that.
I only know of 2 things that connect D3 to the rest, and it's that the martians and sentinels seem to be the same, and inscriptions from hell match between games (or something like that lol)
That implies DOOM 3 earth and DOOM 2016 Earth are the same and you have to deal with how it fits with Hebeth
He did said it was canon but later corrected it in an interview
He said it was only related by visuals which causes more problems
How hugo
He was asked if DOOM 3 was canon because he said it in a livestream, he said that DOOM 3 is not, how does that work
I need help
I want DOOM 3 to be canon, stop it hugo
Ah I see, interesting. I take it that he meant moreso not related to the Slayer, but we wonât know for sure until we get actual confirmation from the Devs ig.
Thatâs too bad then. Iâd still say itâs safe to assume itâs interconnected, now with Doom being a multiverse and all- but I get wanting concrete proof.
Doomâs lore is quite convoluted already lol.
Too bad this server took down the lore channel. Itâll probably pop back up after TDA releases.
Okay, so this is a prequel to Doom 2016 but does it happen from the start of the servitude for the Argentias, or after getting juiced up in the machine that I totally forget the name of right now? Or has none of that been teased in interviews yet?
After getting juiced up by the Divinity machine
You serve the Khan Maykr and fight the Unholy Crusade
Mean
Ancient
Brutal torture machines
Built to butcher
Impale
And shred the minions of hell with
I'd say not to take anything hugo states as actual fact
Yeah he famously ruins lore by what he says
he's a good director but jesus christ he's shit at lorecrafting
Real and true đ
He gives us great games but FUCK he doesn't like expanding on the species that inhabit the games
Would a more melee-oriented approach in a typical run and gun shooter like doom work at all? Just curious.
Pretty much only if the enemy either doesnât have ranged attacks or has very weak ranged attacks, but I see it working
Metal music and mighty men
Just realized Iâve failed my dutiesâŚ.
Day 16 of 112
Oof
The parts of Doom 3 that are 100% canon (in this case being connected to the other games) are:
-The Hell in Doom 3 is apart of the Hell we see in every other Doom game (Hell is a constant across universes)
-The âMartian Heroâ was made to be the Doom Slayer. Before it was just a reference to the old games but 2016 and Eternal changed that
-The demon variants exist in the other Doom games but we simply just donât ever see them since Hell is so vast
-(Iâm like 90% sure on this one) Maligog was a Dark Lord
Yes, he originally said it was, then he admitted that he mightve mispoken, but m0no believes that it still is canon and exists in an alternate dimension which the Slayer had also visited.
Yeah, I mean he's generally a design guy, after having been an automotive designer and was the Creative Director on Doom 2016. I'm guessing the lore's written by someone else.
Just Pre-ordered. I'm ready to rip and tear. Midevil style đĽ
fuck yeah. gonna pre order soon as well
How do you guys think the main story will end for TDA? I think it might end with the civil war starting and the DLC will go into that and the betrayal and end with the slayer in his coffin
What you mean TDA?
The Dark Ages
Ok
If As i said, the fact that the pieces of a jigsaw puzzle fits, doesn't mean it's meant to be for the same group of jigsaw pieces, you are saying that DOOM 3 is 100% canon but in games there is nothing to relate that, what Hugo said puts it's canonicity into really vague almost like saying Final DOOM is 100% canon
Yes, most likely
Which he can't prove
It would be the second time a dlc has ended with the slayer getting put into the coffin. Which is quite hilarious I think
Wouldn't be against it
Bro can't catch a break đ
I wouldn't be surprised if it goes this route because if they are going over the entire story of the slayer testaments then theres so much they have to cover with it so I think it would make since for the story to be split up into the dlc
If there is no timeskips the game can not be an start and end of the Argenta Civil War
I will Never recover from this, I understand if you must exile me :(
or could be what happens between doom 2016 and eternal
They won't do that, they'd have to overhaul the gameplay to fit the context
how so?
Would it make sense for the doom slayer, between 2016 and eternal, to have access to weapons such as the skull crusher, nail gun or the chainsaw shield?
We dont know where the slayer was teleported to when sent to hell after Samuels betrayal
Wasnt eternals dlc supposed to be a prequel during the sentinel era?
This is exactly why they ditched that for the ancient gods
nah it was supposed to be the war on earth where we play as someone else
but scrapped for obv reasons
Yeah but i also remember it being a prequel set in the unholy crusades
At least somebody said it was
Wrong, the Hell priests are before being demonized, The Slayer serves the Khan Maykr
And Argent D'Nur is still standing and we don't have the Praetor armour
"random shit go!" type of statement
Im talking about when the dlc could take place and my guess is between the games i said above, since there are story elements we could play through. Like escaping where ever Samuel sent sent us, and then finding and killing the first hell priest protector
The DLC for TDA continues the campaign
Can you show where this was said?
In the collectors edition is called "campaign DLC", putting it after 2016 means changing the whole game and mechanics
So question, do we know if TDA is gonna have Linux support? 2016 and Eternal has it
Ummm... obviously the dlc is in the campaign mode....
doesnt add any evidence that its set to take place right after the end of the normal campaign or be a continuation of the current problem. It could totally be a whole new campaign like it was in eternal
I know the pieces fit
Hugo outright said the game will cover the entire slayers testaments
If youve read it you know how its exactly going to end
the argument is what the dlc will cover
Yea and im saying the the dlc could take place between 2016 and eternal
So what's more possible to you, the next parts that the testaments covers and the codex that TDA will most likely be unable to, or a period time where we don't have the shield, can jump and move like 2016 and only get a shotgun and no evidence of any other weapon in the fortress of DOOM
And that is terribly disconnected to the Argenta period of time
It can, but it most likely won't, there is no reason to believe it will other than the lack of information
The slayer couldve been ripped of all his weapons and double jump boots when betrayed by Samuel. The slayer was stripped of everything when entombed
I never said those were wrong
and in eternal we see that in the slayers hub that he has a huge mech.
That's only because it's his Atlan from TDA time
He got the fortress of DOOM, the Atlan was already not functioning
No
How would you explain the jump from 2016 to eternal then?
He had to go back to Argent Dunur
A comic as originally Hugo said or in TDA a reference to where the fortress ended and where Deag Nylox had his future champion
The fortress could be in Hell, Nylox champion aswell
2016 to Eternal is irrelevant in my opinion, we just need to know where the fortress was left and where Nylox would have his future champion
Hence why im saying that it makes sense for the dlc to take place then
makes more sense for the dlc to take place then since it actually has a story to follow up on too
TDA is not yet in the Civil War which took years, if there is no timeskips it makes so much more sense to continue what TDA couldn't because of time which is very important to DOOM lore and connects with the testaments and last parts of the codex
TBH more people would want the story of what happened between 2016 and eternal. Hearing about the civil war? BORING!! Like we all know how it ends, the slayers gets too kill happy and get trapped and a building dropped on him, stripped bare. Him and his armor are entombed
After that argent dunur falls
no much story to go on about since it follows directly into 2016
Lmao speak for yourself
even then the civil war was between the king and the khan makers
not much demon killing there since it would expose the lies of the khans
We don't know much of it, Civil War, betrayal then The Slayer stays in Hell and does things and then gets trapped, don't you know that 2016 to Eternal is just Doomslayer finding the fortress, killing Nylox champion and that's it? It's so much more interesting to see the the blanks of the codex that some little timeskip that could be just a level...
The khan maykr is literally working with hell
yes
would rather have that then a story that we already know about
That would ruin the flow of the story wouldnt it
going to 2016?
As computer said its far disconnected from the point of time before his entombment
Thats gonna be the majority of TDA tho. I do agree with the idea tho of seeing what happened between 2016 and eternal. I don't know if they'll still be doing the comic book for it but if we actually got to play it then that would be pretty fun and interesting
Could be DLC, although thatâs a stretch given the context of TDA
the story in the campaign should end with the slayer being entombed no?
No
I feel like maybe at the end of TDA they somehow setup the Civil war and between the DLC and main game with a small time jump
isnt the game going to cover all of the testaments?
Whole thing literally takes many years they cant just pack it all in one campaign
I was thinking itâll end that way, or at least end with him and the Night Sentinels getting trapped in Hell after the priests and Khan turned on them.
the game is 20 hours long from what i heard
they totally could
they kinda have to add timeskips
Overall we're just gonna have to wait and see đ I think either way its still gonna be an awesome campaign
^^^^
Whole point of the dlc
Huh??
Bro the campaign is nearly 20 hours long
they can fit 2 stories and a half in it
do you underestimate how long 20 hours is
Looks like the game starts out during the siege on Taras Nabad.
Iâd prefer if the story just continued from there, without jumping around. Definitely wouldnât be able to cover all the events of the War if it didnât have some time skips involved though. So Iâm really curious how the gameâs going to end.
More like some time after
the game should start at when he is found by the sentinels
lore wise start atleast
him gaining the trust of the sentinels and then being given the divine power
The game starts post divinity.
Seeing the Dreadnought appear out of a Hell hole, and then another scene with the slayer jumping towards a large figure- gives me the impression thatâs the Dreadnought that suddenly appeared in Taras Nabad.
The background looks like the place too.
Could be wrong obviously but thatâs what I speculate.
kinda dumb imo
Not really
also proof?
we literally get shot out of a fucking ship.
what weapon does he grab as he is being shot out tho?
A shotgun.
We start with the combat shotgun, not the double barrel
Quote from game director Hugo Martin - "He's kind of scary to them. They don't really quite know what to make of him, because he doesn't talk and he's all powerfulâŚhe's already gone through the Divinity machine. He's blessed with superhuman speed and power by the makers, and the Sentinels are unsure of him. The makers are scared of him. And obviously hell fears him above anything else"
That has nothing to do w if it's post divinity
Off topic but am I the only one who was hoping we'd also get a sword as a melee weapon đ
I don't I like my mace
NOT YOU HORDE THE OTHER GUY
lmao
Get vega'd đ
Common vega L
I love vega hi vega
Hi, @plain iron.
thanks for the proof even tho its gone lmao
It's a RockPaperShotgun article titled "Doom: The Dark Ages is out May 15th, 2025. Here's everything we learned from Id's press show" if you're interested lol
Vega was slow on that one
took him a minute
Also I think Ao3 is allowed here for some reason
I've been able to post a Ao3 link
But yeah, it's definitely post divinity
I'm sure we'll see a few pre-divinity flashbacks here and there though
And (hopefully) pre maykr betrayal
i pray
hopefully with the Doom 64 armor
I WANNA SEE MY BOY SAMUR
Or him killing the titan right after
I wanna see his banishment
Most definitely especially since we don't even know how he got to the sentinels
Samur is far too important to not be there yknow
We do, he kinda flopped outta hell into argent d'nur and the sentinels yoinked him
And then Samur was like :0
Would be nice to have more details than that though, lol.
How did a rift open for him to get there? Just a stroke of luck?
True but isn't it still a little fuzzy on the details like how exactly from hell did he get there
It seems rifts from hell are a common thing, I believe in 2016 there's something called a argent fracture/fissure or the like
It was where the UAC found the majority of VEGA
another hint vega isn't fully human made
Also idk if anyone has thought of this but in the trailer when the slayer is approaching Ahzrak with his flail, I feel like the person who is on the ground in front of Ahzrak might be king Novik. I really hope we get to see Novik a bit in the campaign and its pretty much a given we will so I'm psyched
and in times of battle it is expected that the King lead from the battlefield rather than from the safety of the throne. As it is written in Sentinel law, a King unfit for battle is likewise unfit to rule.
Amen to that
Probably just a variation of the titans
We can see him kicking another one into a pit in the mars like level
Go Scott Morrison. Go to war and die for the people you've scorned
Not sure about the figure he was jumping onto
I'm 90% sure this game will take place years after doomguy fights the dreadnought
"They will goon, but you will doom... rip and tear, until it is done" -Novik, probably
I wanna bite novik
Maybe. Just noticed a few parallels between some clips we saw in the Developer Direct and the sentinel codex entries. Game might jump around events, or it could be me over analyzing it lol.
I just want more maykr lore
I don't think jumping around events would make a good story tbh
I agree, Iâd rather it flow from one event to the next rather than segment them into certain time periods
the game might just begin at a later point. like before the civil war and just going into extreme detail,
then ending with the fall of the sentinels
and the dlc(s) are more of what happens after
Well, the DLC is still there
I hope they don't do a TAG 2 and put us in the coffin, bcs that's it until 2016
About king novik tho, we're not sure if the guy beside ahzrak is even novik cause hes got long white hair and a cape. And we can see statue of king novik that depicts him without those https://media.discordapp.net/attachments/1334054884533866529/1337912515631255574/Screenshot_20250208-142621_YouTube.jpg?ex=67a92ba0&is=67a7da20&hm=1b45f9eaeaba66eacdf7a03e740255a3ff0fc2043bcffbb28e4f7bae1f47c85d&
Maybe thats just a placeholder?
They did change the gargoyle statue in the hell level into a hooded figure
Could be a place holder
I can't wait for when king Novik tells us its doomin time and we go and dark age all over the place
yes
ITS SAMUR-
no it's not
my only concern with TDA is that I still want the combat to be difficult and deep in mechanics. I don't want more story if we have to have less interesting / easier combat
We have the s l i d e r s to satiate that need
Same feeling here but I think it should be fine especially with the sliders
we shouldn't need the sliders for that though, that's the whole purpose of the normal difficulty options
I'm still kinda 50/50 on the sliders, I just hope the base game doesn't need to be changed with sliders in order to be fun / difficult
Oh no I agree but Iâm just saying itâs an added bonus
ye
I mostly think the melee combat/gun play will feel different compared to eternal so people will not like/complain about it for the first month
Iâm loving what I saw though
Tbf each doom game has a different feel to it
Thatâs what Iâm saying, I never really got why people want them to play like the old ones when you could just go back to them
When I want to play 2016, I go back to it, when I want to play some fast paced game then I go to eternal
I'm glad they're not doing doom eternal 2, but I hope TDA isn't just dark souls with guns
Iâm going to hold your hand when I say this
Nah jk probably not
Imagine though, would be interesting to me at least
would be interesting, just wouldn't be the fast-paced stuff I'd want
so I'm hoping even though this game is more grounded, the game is still fast in terms of what you can do, especially combining different weapons with the shield
Out of all the gameplay reveals for modern Doom, this one looks the fastest in the way it was presented. It definitely isnât going to beat Eternalâs speed, but I think itâs safe to say itâll be as fast, if not more, than 2016.
it'll definitely be faster than 2016,
Would you want a sprint button to help with the game speed?
well I know they typically slow down gameplay for trailers, so idk yet how it'll feel
Or something more like the GK perk in eternal & 2016 that boosts speed after?
the issue with sliders is that, anytime you make them, you need to make sure the game is still playable with both extremes, (ultra fast movement vs super slow), and this can sometimes cause the base gameplay to be simple or easy because there has to be wiggle room for the slider options
Yep, hopefully the mechanical speed and amount of decision making is high
if that makes sense
Sliders maxed out should be either extremely hard or extremely easy
That's why they're there, so you can customize the difficulty to essentially any point you want
true, but imagine if doom eternal had sliders,
turning the game up to max would almost be impossible to play,
which is what I'm talking about, that you have to still create some wiggle room so the game is not impossible at max, but the base gameplay would be more simple / easier because of this
M1 letâs mod eternal and make all demons one shot + have totem boosts
also, normal difficulty options are typically optimized well, so the base game can still be fast while also having room for changes, without having to alter the base game to adjust for weird maximum settings that can be game-breaking in terms of gameplay
Lol, one-shotting is pretty boring, but I do often play with 2.5x damage to slayer, 2.5x ai haste, 0.8x damage to enemies, and not destroying buff totem, and since it's with an unbalanced randomizer, it means there usually is a buff totem
Some arenas take a veryy long time to clearđ
I think Iâd lose my mind if I got one shot by fodder every time
I mean, you don't have to max every slider out, so impossibly hard isn't really an issue
true, but it's still an option
I hope I do like the base game speed so that it doesnât feel like I HAVE to speed it up more on nightmare. Iâm in the same boat as you
Iâve had my worries at first
And it'd be very hard to define impossibly hard before launch, the playerbase for Eternal has improved massively over the past 5 years
yeah, I still want the easiest difficulty to be easy and ultra nightmare still being extremely hard without having to mess with the sliders
Guys in doom tda we are going to see the peak of hell power? Like infernal technology like the infernal ships we seen in dragon gameplay?
I doubt you can mess with the sliders on UN, if there even is a UN in TDA
well, you know what I mean. nightmare then without having to mess with the sliders
I don't doubt that the normal difficulties will be balanced, like in Eternal
I'm sure it'll be fine, I'm just a little skeptical
The ultra nightmare on tda will be easier or harder than eternal ultra nightmare?
Then poeple will probably make unbalanced shit with the sliders lol
I want it to be the same tbh
so it still feels fun in that way
Nice
I'd want TDA's nightmare to be significantly harder than Eternal's, and thereby making its UN harder too
that'd be great
Eternal's nightmare is very tame for a max difficulty
maybe Ultra Ultra Nightmare, where any damage taken results in the end of the run đ
They revealed it in a direct or where?
I want master levels in tda, could be very cool
they didn't really talk about difficulty a lot in the xbox dev direct, it was mostly about the sliders, in terms of difficulty
That'd probably be pretty much impossibleđ
Yess, MLs are great
or an infinite horde mode
I think depend the player could be easier or harder, but can be the same thing
Imagine put slayer speed in low and enemy's proyectils in max đ
well... the projectiles are slower, we can block now, so maybeee
Yeees, the eternal ml are GOD

Yes, and in Eternal we could fly around at insane speeds, but a no-hit run is still impossible
It'll probably be way easier in TDA though, but still about impossible I'd say
Idk tho
I'm just really hyped for all the tech that's gonna be (hopefully) discovered
Talking about mech suit and dragon, could be very cool plushes of mech, dragon and demons like in doom eternal
And after do merch in real life, a mini slayer, mini dragon and mini mech could be very cool
Too much text, lazy to read what's new in this channel
Didn't John Romero add Nightmare to Doom as a joke in response to people saying the game was too easy?
Anyway, times and player capabilities change, so having the slider adjustment is good.
Yes
John romero also wanted the mouse to be used after you get good in the game
Times change but Doom is Eternal
Eternally changing
What would u like to see the upgrades for cybernetic dragon
Damn. My laptop will fall short in the VRAM requirement (6gb, 8 required) in order to run DDA. Might need to get a new laptop after all. Everything else I have is up to speed and I'll be quadrupling my RAM in a couple weeks time.
I wonder if I'll actually need to upgrade to an i7
Most likely. Unlike prior versions of Doom, this is a pretty significant jump in requirements. Double the RAM requirements, and you need an RTX card of 2060 SUPER version at a bare minimum. I only have a RTX 2060.
And I'm on a laptop. So I won't be surprised if it doesn't run, unless there's some way to shrink video RAM usage such as limiting max pre-rendered frames in NVidia's control panel.
Wait... External graphics cards...
Someone made a post of reddit talking about that, Novik armour doesn't fit and in the showcase appears Ahzrak choking or holding a character that seems to be this one but it could be Novik but looking at it it seems like it's a new character
Yo i ordered Doom tda collectors edition how long will it take till it arrives?
depends where you live and when bethesda starts shipping
i aint complaining
well, you get a physical copy of the game iirc
TRUE
im just happy theres a new doom game, beaten every single one.
And a 12 inch doom figure

12 inches of doom
some developers also let you pre install games or something
a few days or a week before release
obviously steam doesnt let you play them, but its used for larger games becuase they are well, larger
i did that
me too, with god of war ragnarok
really nice of them to do
for people curious, no you will probably not be able to play the game the second it comes out, becuase an update comes out the second it drops for people who have it pre installed becuase they installed a previous version of sorts, but it lets you download the majority of stuff
alr
Man it sucks that Dark Ages requires a RTX GPU for the ray tracing and the Frame generation with AI upscaling. I mean sure it looks great the game but do we really need ray tracing with the frame generation??
Fram gen has nothing to do with the requirements, the game uses rtx lighting instead of baked one, so it will need an rtx card
ray tracing is going to be the standard from here on out
And games evolve, rtx cards released for the first time 7 years ago, a card like the 1060 was never intented to last more than 10 years
its why we dont use dos anymore lmao
nothing to do with framegen, unlike some developers, id software optimize their games
let us hope so
There was no mention of DLSS FG at the main presentation. I believe a Nvidia showcase mentioned it but footage got taken down. I'm assuming for the "standard" low-max settings they're expecting the recommended specs to hit the target framerates at native resolution. The DLSS suite might come in handy for that PC path tracing mode which, like in other games, probably isn't designed to be usable at native resolution with current hardware. Unfortunate the mode wasn't shown off at the Xbox showcase but it's entirely reasonable that they'd omit something out of scope for most of the audience.
And besides, regardless of who says what, DLSS FG doesn't really work well without an already decent base line (either native resolution or via DLSS SR). It's not a crutch to unscrew slow performance.
Day uhhhh 17 of 112
Aight
I wonder who the Soldier enemies will be (saw some in the trailer that look like Possessed/Blaster Soldiers).
I wonder if it will have a menu screen like 2016 or eternal
Maybe it will have something compeltely unique
I notice a quite a handful of people are a bit concerned about the new glory kill system (in terms of it not having those flashy rip and tear animations) and instead resorting to seamless mace/flail swiped, kicks and punches etc.
But, from a lore perspective, I would think that the Doom Slayer at the current time is still merely pure human, i.e. his strength is raw from his own body and the equipment he uses. Even his armor is purely sentinel craft, breast plates, shoulder covers, fur pelts and whatnot. It's not until he is gifted the praetor suit from the divinity machine is he then able to literally launch himself towards demons and literally rip them apart, by his own hand. That's when DOOM 2016 comes inc. Eternal.
I'd imagine the sequel to Eternal may see the return of animated glory kills. I just think we gotta play TDA to get a good feel of the kind of kills we can execute.
i believe this is when his body is still getting used to the power of the divinity machine
because his eyes shine yellow in cutscene
a part of it is likely due to the massive increase of enemies
becuase eternal has a max cap of 32 enemies, 31 including the slayer, and it almost never, if ever, reaches that many enemies
That makes sense, could be we get the divinity power perhaps partway through the game, or maybe early in the game as there are a few times we see the glowing eyes
*in vanilla
he didn't get the preator suit from the divinity machine, he got it from The Wretch, a traitor to hell and someone we have nnever seen.
He also got his powers either in the first battle, or quite soon anyways
possibly, but for the main time im willing to believe its just after the machine
maybe we enter the game with samur giving us the divinity powers
or sometihng
did the slayer have his powers during the fight with his first titan?
it's definitely in either the first level, or right after the first level
Oh, so only the suit was from the Wretch, powers from the machine
iirc there was a passage about him killing it after but
he used the comatose sword anyways
samur saw him after battle and was like "damn this guy is beaten the fuck up after that, i need to give him /op or something
imagine trying to play this game on steam deck
idk how it'd be possible but if it can run spiderman 2 then itd probably be able to run doom the dark ages on 30 fps
Some site says i can't even run the minimum on the dark ages, it tells that the video card and cpu can't run it. I'm not good with pc's, but apparently these are my specs:
NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4050 Laptop GPU
12th Gen Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-12450H
Does this mean it would be impossible for me to play Doom TDA ?
you can check your specs in task manager
just did after you said that, they line up with this
laptop gpus and cpus are underclocked to fuck so your laptop's battery can do stuff
well i dont know how they know that tbh
tda is not out
aren't the minimum specs confirmed ?
maybe check how your cpu and gpu compare to the minimum specs
in a cpu comparer/gpu comparer site
use the examples given
your gpu is about as good as a 2060
tiny bit better
i think i explained wrong. tht's what i did, the site said mine aren't good. my question is if i MUST do an upgrade to play it because i don't know what any of these mean
i would put a picture, but i can't
you can probably run it
your cpu is 25% less powerful than what is in a ps5's or an xbox's
but your gpu is around the same as the minimum req
i see, thank you for the help
you can probably run it
fits the minimum criteria
cpu and gpu are slightly better than minimum
1-2%so you should be alright
that's great, honestly can't wait till it comes out. the games looks dope as hell
@ember drum are you the Australian Gman from Gman Lives?
Nice
abt to be in debt for this pre-order...
Yes, if The dark ages starts with him being thrown to combat by the Maykrs as seeing in the trailer, it happens after he gets in the divinity machine and most likely a little before the sentinels find out about Nekravol
but didnt no one know about the slayer getting into the machine other than samur and himself?
maybe not at the time but the moment after would be quite noticable
And the khan maykr, and the one who wrote the ligra sultagenta, and Hell that heard about the power given by the seraphim
Probably marauders and the list goes
Why don't the demons just go back in time and stop them from killing Daisy, are they dumb or something?
That affects on nothing to the fact he already helds the mark of the beast, already are titans which means he already fought the one in Taras nabad which is why no crucible, he is already used as a weapon
because timetravel isn't in doom
It could...you don't know
Yes there is, only to future
Time passes faster in Hell
well if it did the antagonists would act super stupid with it
Yep sleepy time in a big stone sarcophagus
yeah it could also asspull literally anything else
Ye
where's it stated
Maybe time stays the same, doom guy was just sleeping
m0no docc explains it, too lazy to quote it
i'm even lazier to skimp through it hoping to find something you claim
You can ping m0no if you'd like
meh no need to bother
Q: Does time work differently in Hell?
A: Yes. Time goes by faster in Hell than on Earth. For example, Doom Eternal establishes that Agaddon Hunters were native to Earth during the Cretaceous Period, which ended 66 million years ago; however, the Deag Priests were shown cybernetically enhancing these creatures during the First Age of Hell, which was most likely billions of years before Doom 2016 from Hellâs perspective.
đ that's flaint proof at best
Also it also would explain why The slayer took so long to get back to Earth
"he had to search for the fortress and bring it back" is already enough though
well, they do have a (ping for lore questions)
oop offline
yeah but like... it's a time thing
for which there is only the extremely inconsistant timeline combined with IRL time period mentioned
It also explains how Hell invasions take longer to be prepared inside Hell and appears to have shorter periods of time to the worlds conquered
have we even seen any of those happening
the invasion planning*
also... out of every place you would assume the UAC would have a really clear research segment about how time moves faster in hell...
The UAC is vague to almost everything and commit mistakes and no human entered hell and came back other than Samuel and the slayer
Tomato
just samur is enough to conclude time goes faster
or like... randomy equipment
time literally being faster by a noticable amount would be something you measure quite quickly
nope im gman from ebay
You'd have to have observers in and out of hell simultaneously measuring time to determine that time was moving more quickly
I'm hyped that Dark Ages won't have a codex. I'm a huge lore/story nut so it's cool to see them taking it more seriously instead of dumping stuff in logs and making us read bootleg novels if we want a deeper story lol
It's also different to where it's timeless. Where even if you travel to a different timeline or to the past, they'll remember everything.
Who else pre ordered on day one???
will the game be good
Most likely
It will sell 30 doomillion copies
Skyrim
I came back
95 days until doom dark ages releases lets keep the hype going
if i cant parry a titan with the sheild saw i will riot
When this game comes out, Iâm coming out.
Ever heard of equipment???
We didn't need a person on a satellite to measure the small disrepency of ground level time and time in it's orbit
this game is gonna be PEAK!
Your heros journey will take you to the far reaches of the doom universe
Mysterious worlds from the slayers past
Dark forests
Dungeons
Ancient hellscapes
Battlefields
And worlds beyond
Maybe and hopefully
Good morning chat:3
Is it possible to think they'll still add quick swapping in dark ages? Or just false hopes
I think they'll make it so you probably can't
They wanted people to swap more in eternal, PB swaps weren't really in mind but they still where part of it
DA's whole point is being slower though, so probably just "regular" swapping where you just change guns a few times per combat qua context.
if it were to be brought back, i'd like to see it receive some mechanical difficulty, like tighter animation cancel windows
maybe it'd straight up deal less damage than not quickswapping unless you could contend with some kind of additional timing mechanic
on second thought, that's not a great idea
but it should be harder than in eternal, and the weapons should interact in some way instead of just being 10 slight variations of "idk man just do damage"
These demons better tick off their bucket list because the days are numbered
Well now I have to get used to being slow now
4 days until the worst holiday ever and 94 days until the best holiday ever
Merry Christmas
Coming back to eternal after playing tda is gonna be strange ngl
Oh word?
well yeah, when it comes out
both games are super different
its like the difference between the original doom and doom 2016
I assume they got that then cause of the fact that Iâm rapidly swapping between ballista and ssg everytime I encounter a marauder
well it's a different game, you're not struggling to "adapt" when playing any other FPS either
In DA, they want you to stand up and fight. Doom Eternal was all about movement and quick reflexes.
yeah like i said, it's about being slower
Yeah.
uhhh speak for yourself lol
whenever I play any shooter, I struggle to adapt for a while
Yeah. Happens to many people. Different controls and environments as well as different things to master.
i meant in specific relation to just eternal
I think a lot of people struggle more with eternal than other shooters
because let's be real here
doom eternal isn't your usual shooter
Yeah.
dark ages seems like a totally new subgenre of shooter so it might be hard to adapt at first
in doom eternal, you feel like a fighter jet, in TDA, you will feel like an iron tank, powerful, but still fast
totally new
doom 1993
Id Software is so great that not only they innovated in their own genre with 2016, but they also spawned 2 new subgenres of shooter with the subsequent releases
many skills from other shooters (and especially Eternal/classic doom) will probably transfer to TDA
yeah sure point me to the parrying, advanced melee combat and open world in doom 1993
experienced Eternal players will go into TDA with a pretty good baseline skill level
eternal doesn't have parries though
ah ok
okay and? there are so many other factors in combat
not the point of the game tbh
the gun shooting and weapon swapping skills will probably transfer to TDA
but it seems important based on the showcase gameplay
you develop a certain level of dexterity in Eternal, which will transfer, and decision making will be key in TDA, as it was in Eternal, so there you got a big advantage too
and if you played any other game that has a similar parry system, like god of war 2018 and ragnarok, parrying is super easy
and how you move around the battlefield will probably also be very important, so there's another advantage
and it really does not look that hard
not sure about weapon swapping since it will be far slower probably
if the game is slower I imagine decision making will be way more important in TDA than in eternal
im curious how they will mkae every weapon unique to the other
there are all of these little intricacies to combat, beyond what you easily see
because we have 2 plasma rifles
in eternal you could get by with bad choices even on nightmare if you just ran around the arena for a bit
sure, but the same will apply for TDA
if you're slower I think that won't apply as much
you can get by when lacking something in one area, if you make it up in another area
I'm expecting the game to be totally new still
decision making is very core to Eternal
oh yeah for sure
that's what they've been doing for almost a decade now
Idk if I'd say that 2016 was totally new
the resource management being integrated to aggression was something kinda new for the time
it was the main selling point of the game back then
another monday, another week closer to tda
people would be like "to stay alive in doom you need to keep killing!!!!1111" I remember clearly
for other arena/boomer shooters, you'd just take cover
Well yeah you need to kill things to win
2016 grabbed the cover thing which is pivotal to FPS since doom 1993 and ditched it
yeah but the point people were trying to make back when the game released was that if you stayed behind cover you'd die
you can only win by being extremely aggressive
you only say that because the subgenre it created got established and now there are more aggressive games
Obviously not in the sense of taking cover but in the sense of absolutely abusing restacking
but I'm very sure that when it came out, there weren't many games doing anything similar to this
restocking in doom 2016 is done by killing
you still approach a fight differently from when you're on high and low HP
you call killing demons with a chainsaw defensive because you're already used to the aggression
so you play more cautiously/defensively when you want to restack
yeah but no other game at the time had the definition of "defensive" be running around an open arena looking for weak enemies to kill
fair
I expect dark ages to spawn a new subgenre of boomer/arena shooters if you can even still call it that
Well I'm just used to doom eternal, since it's fast pace
so the last like however many years you have only played eternal as an FPS?
đ
To be fair Iâve been playing almost exclusively eternal for 4 years
đĽ
there's still multiple months to play another slower fps atleast
then you get into DA actually aclaimed to the slower gameplay and thus get to taste it more at proper levle
I know i have a while but I still need to practice more
Damn
Yeah.
ferrari -> jet -> tank
We need war elephants to ride in doom the dark ages
Can't wait for tank personally
The mech is gonna be crazy
only 61 hours of ultrakill is diabolical
â
I preordered premium edition of dark ages now I just gotta wait 3 months
imagine spending money to buy an infinite supply product early
i really wish early access landed on the weekend, it really makes it not a perk for me
Well whatâs even the point, then? At that point itâd be better to wait for reviews
Trust in the game
Like the only reason I might preorder is so I can secure a physical copy
But I otherwise have no real reason to
gamepass also exists
Yeah I'm pre-ordering from GameStop to get the physical copy
I'm on ps5
tough
Not buying into that shit tbh
well, gamepass is like one of the few 3 active subscriptions I have so....
Tell X box I'm happy with there decision for giving us Forza Horizon 5 and HALO looks like I'll be adding that to my collection
those games have always been on other platforms xd
Not on PlayStation
fair
You have Xbox and PC, not a wide range
Aren't we supposed to talk abt the dark ages rn why we in this channel
Allies be like
Cortana:- im not coming with you this time
master chief:- nooo dont leave me i beg of you my queen PLEASEEEEE
Vega:- Destroy me
Doomguy:- Aight bet
whats the difference between spending money now vs then on a game, the game will be the same cost im pretty sure
why cant i preinstall the game on steam???
Cause the game is not finished yet probably
i read you can on gamepass....not sure if true tho
Iâm with you on this one, I like to play games for myself to tell if itâs going to bad instead of relying on reviews. Game probably wonât be on discounts for a while so itâs nothing crazy to pre order if you think youâll like it
i will never financially recover from this
but i trust id
yeah, based on what ive seen from the trailers plus with how good the combat and level design has been in doom 2016 and eternal im not worried that dark ages will be amazing
No disrespect but thatâs on you if thatâs true, but I hope you do like it
im certain that itll be a super cool and fun game, why worry about it, plus i wanted to get the collectors but ion got the money for that so preordering premium edition will have to do
Either way if youâre confident in the game all I can say is I hope it comes out good for you
fair, but since i also loved DOOM 3 i say tda will be more than enough
ill get the future dlcs for free which is nice, plus im a sucker for cosmetics unforunately and i get some from the premium edition and preorder which is cool
plus how can you fuck up a single player game?
Thatâs good
