I feel this is very good thing that they didn't go for Eternal 2.0 with jetpacks, sliding or wall climbing. Eternal was peak of its gameplay with DLC, Master Levels and added modeding finally.

They could try to beat this game and ramp it even more, but this would be an easy decision imo.

Instead they designed something new from scratch. This is risk of course, but they did it for sake of art and reativity. They did something big companies want to avoid.

So we have three different DOOMs instead of three different DOOM Eternals. And I'm glad.

The Dark Ages might take time for use to it (just like Eternal!), especially after it's slower, but hey, if someone after a few hours will feel it's too slow, (s)he has modifier sliders. And yes, it's possible that game will be dissapointing for some people. Life.

And remember, DOOM Eternal is not going anywhere and thanks to modding it has very bright future.
