Definitely. I used a combo of controller and a head wrap (less hot than a heat pad, still does good job). For the probe I just cut a square chunk of styrofoam and make a channel. Press the assembly to the opposite side of the heat wrap and tape or belt against fermenting device. This keeps ambient air from the probe. One you get yeast action consistent, oxygenation is good to look into. Then recipe. Sorry for the unasked info 🙂

Algorithms in programming is good to have, but you build the blocks not go through specific ways to solve an issue.
So the contradiction brings an interesting point, don't stay with algorithms.. use the algorithms/formulas as tools for the building blocks
