also when a song's mix is "too clean" it can also sound too flat, it's just annoyed me so much I've taken a break

also this is going to sound subjective but when a song has more dynamics it usually gives you the chills more, the second you make it fit with the loudness war that's when the feeling goes away UNLESS you learn music theory then apparently the song is actually good
