Well the rigidbodies are actually using continuous detection (ray) so they don't fall through the ground (push each other through) They are allowed to sleep though so they dont continuously detect forever if they dont need to.

What is ERS?
ERS is a Rocket League competition, that works just like a multiple skill tier football (soccer for Americans) league. The franchises do tryouts for the different tiers and pick players off of an open transfer market. The team caps ensure that the teams in all four tiers are as balanced as possible.
Find new mates to play, improve or just hang out with. The community is welcoming and you will find people to connect with from all over Europe and even beyond! (Games are played on EU servers)
You can then represent an organisation in the league and fight with the rest of your franchise for glory and a ยฃ1000 prize pool!

Objective: Learning the game, slowly, and Having Fun
Prerequisites: Nothing. You can even not know what the game is. You'll learn as you need.
Time: One session, every week, for 4 hours.
When: It depends on all the player's availability, but the time must be EU compatible.
What: A 8-10 session long campaign, from lvl 1 to lvl 3.
Who are you? I'm Ryuu, a dude on the internet who's played this game for 4 years, with 3 years of experience hosting games for others, including for new people.
What will I have to do? Be present for 4 hours every week at the agreed time. That's all. You don't need to prepare before the sessions. All you need to do is give up 4 hours of your life weekly for max 10 weeks.
What will we be using? Foundry VTT. It's free for players. It provides a great experience. Don't bother learning it. I'll explain what you need to know.
How can I join? Just DM me with your age and timezone, maybe attach a short presentation of yourself if you want, including what you know of D&D. You can skip it if you don't want to.
How many players? I'm planning for 4-5. More and it can get disrupting.
This offer lasts until Monday 15th. It isn't first come, first served. I'll make a group based on compatability and schedule.

I would like to announce the first project by Realmweaver Studios - an ambitious project currently called "Mystic Masters: Realms of Ascendancy". While still ironing out all the final details, the game is currently described as such:

u cooked peak here, it scratches an itch i never knew i had, it's so cool that i have to involve hand and eye coordination with 2 separate moments and pre planning
like... i cant stay still with the mouse, gotta premeditate 2 movements, but also think on the fly some strategies as to save a space for big blocks, and given the speed i need to think fast so i have no breathing
is like a good one for quick session to feel like the same energy of an fps, at the moment i do not have any suggestions, apart from:
- can i please have sensitivity options for the keyboard movement? like... a slider where i can be modifying distance of falling, because atm for example, my mouse goes zooming, and i am ok with that, but the falling velocity does not matches my mouse movement because of my config, so i got a mouse that moves as a good velocity but the blocks do not move at the same speed of my mouse config
- would be weird but could i have a 1 space to save a block for later?, that could be with the Q key, like in tetris, sometimes the rng is not on my side and i could get cooked but i want to have a chance to save my position so i could press Q fast on a big block and lets say the other blocks are small so i have comeback time, you could press q again to release what you saved in the next move, maybe u could put a cooldown so that it is not spamable
- this may be me getting used to mario, but i thing in regards of placement of the high score and the timer could be at the top, timer at the left and score at the right, so that i have more space for the playground box for the boxes
separate from that this is good, like i have been playing for a good time and i will have it bookmarked for the next time i need it, you got a nice concept here

it would be nice for me to be able to select a background music from all the ones u are playing, because for me, i realized i do more with the chill songs than with the hyper ones, it may be placebo, it may not
the beep boop vfx sounds it makes when u put blocks helps me to mentally do a metronome in my head with the bpm so i do not need to look at my next piece and i react my movement based on the bpm, and when it changes from 1 song to the other it throws me off, if i can select an specific song that i like that would be really helpful
note: animation off is a must for me as a tryhard ๐

Thank you so much for the feedback, and Iโm glad youโre enjoying the game! The way you said how it makes you need to think so fast you canโt breathe - is exactly the feeling I was going for as soon as I tested the prototype. So thank you, that means a lot.
For your suggestions, I had a couple questions/compliments:
-Do you mean you want a sensitivity slider for how fast the falling block moves left and right? I can do that 100%. If you had a sensitivity slider, letโs say itโs 1-100, where would the current version of the game be?
-The ability to save a block is such a genius idea, thatโs shooting right to the top of the to do list!
-in regards to the high score and the timer, which Mario game? Iโm not sure I understand what you meant.
-Iโve been thinking about adding in a song selection feature for a while, itโs just gotten pushed down the do list a bunch. Iโll move that to the top!

So, I want to be transparent and share with you my little journey called "Laboratory X-29".
About a year ago (a bit more) I finished my Unity courses and tried my best to get into game development as an intern/junior-.
And fail miserably) No experience, no projects to show, nothing. So I start participating in game jam's to feel more confident and have something to show. And still no results.
And then I think to myself "Why try to find an opportunity - just create one". So I planned what I need to do and achieve by the end of this year.
Here is what i did, hope someone might find it helpful:
-
I listed all mechanics and features that need to be in my game. Can be less? - Yes. More? - Hard NO. Put new idea on paper and live it for new game. Or you never finish anything.

Main goal - make a finished game by the end of year (8 months). If it's fun - Great!
-
Learn as much as possible about Unity (animations, events, SO, shaders, etc.) and Steam.
-
Participate in as much events as possible. Steam Next fest - required.
-
Make an achievement system (Learn about Steam integrations)
-
Budget for game = 0$. Why? Because your first game will fail. 95% it will. Yes, spending money on art/sound/assets/marketing can bring your game to success. BUT if you understand What and How you need to do. For first project you mostly like blind kitty. So no budget was my conscious choice.
A one month after release: Laboratory X-29 earned 10 reviews and I earned 140$ which is great! Because it's cover the 100$ cost to get your game on Steam)
Now I'm looking forward to add localization and more content. At the end of January I will run first sale after release, so looking forward for it)
Also will try to get work as game developer (Unity).

, and oof.. idk, i feel it in the 60-70 range, it falls quick, maybe is my dps in the mouse that is high that makes it feel slow, i guess you can consider current one better in the middle -
for the high score..., so... i think for the time being it may be best to ignore what i said before, looking at it, it seems you are going for the arcade feel so it is proper, what would really help tho is make a clear color distintion so that the full focus is on the center (what i mean is adding a color background to the left and right to diferentiate it from the center game

Thanks to Thor I found out that pixelart is actually something I find satisfaction in, something I haven't felt for a long time (since like w3/morrowind modding and stuff). I hate learning just for the sake of learning so I made a little book about leveling up life, organizing tasks, setting up goals and stuff. I've been listening to Thor's live streams while developing my game for the past 4ish months and I finally got to a point where I released a demo! A streamer did a youtube video and sadly said it was "unplayable" (No fault to the youtuber, he was right). My biggest fear of showing my game to others came true, it felt like poop but then I fixed the bugs he mentioned and made the game better.
If anyone else is scared to show their game to others, just do it. Take the feedback and improve. That's a sign of a good game developer not a bad one. There's no shame in that. Make your "fart hotel" as Thor says haha.

I have been hobby developing games for a few years now, developing under the name Scize Studios. For the first few years, I lived on Roblox just trying to get my bearings and figure the whole process, workflow, and demands of developing out. Now, I feel ready (as one can be) to transition to Unreal Engine 5 and to start branching out to actually trying to publish something. I have come up with my first small-scope project that I'm interested in pursuing, and I'm hoping to approach correctly from the very beginning, including surveys and interviews during the conceptualization phase.
What I have come up with is "Dark Dealings: Working Title", described as centrally being 'a roguelike deck-builder / card battler with a strong emphasis on psychological horror. The central theme revolves around navigating and overcoming mental health challenges, specifically anxiety and depression. This walkthrough will teach you all the basics you need to start working with Trello for game dev projects effectively. I show you how to setup boards, how to create lists, how to work with cards, give a deep look into Checklists and we will have a first look into creating dependency systems. I explain how I choose which subscription tier I'm using and why; why starting out with three lists is absolutely fine and how to grow your board organically over the course of your project.
