and i hope when the game finished all the experience i got gonna help my second game as well and probably gonna bring more headacle because of it gonna be different genre and new challanges. Cant wait for it ^^ I wanna also add multiplayer to the Hell Runner after it finished as well. I were planning to add multiplayer before game finished but few good game developers convinced me too cancel it so game can have single player experience done 😄

One day programming. The goal is to learn python so I'm using pygame. I still need to implement collision, a points system, I've thought about giving the egg a health bar, adding progression to in crease difficulty, and need to add randomization to falling items. But yeah, it's pretty much that. There's a semi-famous game called Suika Game which this is inspired by. You can see a bit of that as well in the blog I just posted. It's on the Switch though and mine is for Android and web browsers.

I tried to play it smart the first time. Got only 9k. Next round I kept spamming everything at the middle. Nearly doubled it. Ape strats work. Human is sad now.
It's a great game to publish as your first mobile phone game. No annoying ads (yet) that fill the game and start playing after every lose. You kept it simple. The problem for future games: I don't see the replayability at the moment. You at most can compete with a friend over who gets the highest score. Fruit Ninja was similiar in a way that you had to survive as long as possible. But it had unlockables (knife effects). Having visible progress in form of unlocks in your game is really cool. Like different pots or shape skins. Adding this is work. But probably worth it. Assets quality doesn't matter for the most part.

Thanks for the feedback, that is definitely something we're thinking of adding sooner than later. After BGM and a few effects to create that dopamine hit when you do nice combos and hit high scores, we will turn toward unlockable persistent content. At first it'll be different fruit skins and power ups to save runs. I mention these briefly at the end of the dev log.

And yeah, you can get rather high by spam clicking if you're lucky, but it's not really consistent. I guess this makes it playable by small children, lol. But there's a certain threshold that you can't really break without putting in some thought. Currently I think it's around 30k points.

yeah I noticed that, it does help a bit, but the difficult part is to read the depth of things when they hit the "floor"
some larger fruit kinda look like they're floating from that angle
also something I did in mine is that when two fruit merge, the "survivor" is always the lower one
