30m to 1 hr before hand

Ask about anti-emetic injections before anesthesia and see if thats something they can do / are okay with doing, I am not cool with fasting before sedation especially if they have insulinoma as anesthesia can drop BG further

Thats fair, I think sushi was the one we spoke about a few weeks back when I last was in here.

@silver pawn Sushi was pretty rough. She was having the runs really bad, couldn't make it to a pad.. going over her history.. we thought she might have an imbalance in her gut from being on antibiotics. Gave her probiotics. She got better !
Then arthritis set in.. within a few weeks she went from walking normally, but then She could barely walk without slipping and falling. Talked to Shaye she she recommended a treatment that isn't officially approved in ferrets, so technically considered "experimental" had to sign a waiver. She improved, started exploring around the main house again. Got rugs for her room and the ferret living room to help her ambulate. She was improving, but then started getting worse. Had to help her go to the bathroom. Figured out that she (likely) had a uti, because she would go to a pad, then freak out and go to another pad, freak out, then eventually go on the floor when she couldn't hold it anymore. . Treated her with an antibiotic. She got better yet again. Our metric for when it's time to let go is when she isn't enthusiastic about her soup anymore. The vet said she's never seen a ferret get as excited as her about soup.. Anyway, she stopped finishing her soup.. but noticed she was grinding her teeth. Double checked with shaye, to get her mouth checked out.. sure enough the gum around one of her fangs was infected. Treated with a different antibiotic, she started eating again. She's going in for a followup arthritis shot this week!
I'm sure it was one of those you were referring to. Thanks for asking 😺

Poofy tail isn't directly bad. Some ferrets just poof tail quickly when there's no issue. Medical is tricky as well. The oldies are quite wobbly and even the long time viewers don't know all the details about the ferret's medical stuff
