Our forever/rescue home maxes out around 6. At least currently. Unfortunately it seems they all have the permanent variant of ferret coronavirus and it doesn't go away. So adding anyone new pretty much guarantees infection. Not sure how to deal with that currently

Shaye has given me a lot of great information, but I'm trying not to wear out my welcome. I bought some stuff on their Amazon wishlist, but her time and attention is worth 10x as much.
So I'm trying balance.
I know any ferret coming here is going to end up with better treatment than 99.9% of other ferret homes. Husband works from home and basically works around their needs, but I don't like the idea of introducing new ferrets knowing they would be infected

I think the only way you can get rid of it is to quarantine each of them separately, thoroughly clean everything they can access, and then as they test clean after a few weeks, put them back in their normal groupings. If they're together, they'll just keep sharing it, the only way to get rid of it is through isolation.

But yes, make sure you have an exotic vet that treats ferrets in your area before thinking of adopting ferrets and know that, even though their health is considerably better in the UK, they are still very expensive pets that will cost you A LOT of money in their healthcare and their diet isn't particularly cheap either if you feed them right iirc

I would suggest to definitely inform on the Ferret discord that Toast linked earlier, I think they can probably help you better (I live in the UK, but have no experience in keeping ferrets myself and all my knowledge comes from here ❤️ surely there are UK ferret owners on that discord that could help you though!)

hey guys i have a couple of questions, one is...more upsetting than the other. one if I hypothetically made a script to check if the ferrets are live, and open my browser if the ferrets are not on a tab, if they are a tab switching to that tab so the bestest noodles get all the sponsored ads to get more paper for snaxxs and toys from shay and other weird looking ferrets that leave through those large ferret doors( as far as the noodles are concerned if ferrets think like cats, with cats thinking we look like/are weird cats)

also the more...sulking question I know we have lost some good noodles recently will the photos of the new noodles (and by proxy maybe editing the noodles that are no longer with us with a halo) on the twitch page?

Sweet baby, this is not a usual laying place for her. I am guessing it's arthritis, trying to make a appointment soon, as it seems like the gabapentin was what made her puke. It's upsetting because the results of her exploratory surgery showed she didn't have any major organ issues, but it's sad she had to have a major surgery to address that. Going to ask about arthritis treatments compatible with prednisolone, but doesn't cause vomiting. We have her diarrhea under control now. She's still so affectionate, and she waits at the living room gate so we can take her for a walk.
I know this won't last forever, or even a whole lot longer. But we're going to try our best to make this sweetheart happy.
I wake up in a panic every morning, but I'm not willing to cut anything short that shouldn't be
