Oh we have literal millions of dice in this house (he's got a box that's like 1mx1mx1m FULL of dice + some random sets floating around the house lol), but a dice fidget seems like an amazing birthday gift for him^^ We tend to get most dice either from random kickstarters or DNDice.co.uk Since we have a 10% off with them and other stuff for rpg's we tend to get from Gemhammer.com cause we have 20% off with them as well^^) But thanks for the tip, I will def put them on the list of places to look for nice dice in the future for other friends! 😁

I saw for the first time Thor (didn't know his name) explained "Why ferrets?" To a couple of doodz on a podcast or YouTube video.. and he said when he was a kid, he was in California where ferrets are illegal, and he talked about universities would use them for a couple of semesters and then execute them.
I got irrationally angry. And he talked about how he went from being sad when they passed, to happy because he realized how much time he added to their lives.
And i was like 😭 😭 😭 😭

One of our fuzzies had a drug resistant bacterial infection, so the vet wanted us to give everyone meds to be sure it wasn't passed along and come back. Unfortunately, it's heavy duty stuff, you're supposed to use gloves and not breathe it in, and I have a rare autoimmune disease that's pulmonary, so husband has to do it. For him it took like 2 1/2 hours this morning. Sock method got it down to 45 minutes, and more medication stayed in their mouths since they weren't kicking and flailing

Since you tagged me. Question for fuzzies on pred, do you do skip days? Previous vet said 1 dose per day, and every 2 or 3 days to skip a day because their bodies stopped producing.. whatever chemical it is.. sorry I'ts very late for me. Current vet has a smaller dose, but 2x per day, and she didn't mention anything about skipping days.

Pred isn't typically used for infections because it can lower immune response but it does function as an anti inflammatory

#

We use pred for insulinoma because it increases insulin resistance (micro tumors on the pancrease dump tons of insulin causing crashes) and helps encourage the liver to release more glucose to keep levels stabilized to cope with the excess insulin

Prednisolone has a half life of approximately 12 hours which is why it's given 2x daily for insulinoma, after it's half life wears out there's no protection against that excess insulin = crash

Some vets start with 1x daily for insulinoma but it's not standard

Thank you. Every day I'm learning more and more that our previous vet had no idea what he was doing. It makes me upset that all of our babies' health problems went unaddressed for so long.
The turning point was when Sushi's hair started falling out, and researching she had all the classic signs of adrenal disease. Brought her to the vet. He said he didn't think so, and refused to do the implant. Went to a new vet, without bringing even it up.. she said "she has adrenal disease" and they ordered the implant and had it in within a week. She had diarrhea. The old vet said "well that happens in older ferrets sometimes" I thought that was odd, but he's the expert right? new vet did a fecal test.. found out it was a Clostridium infection. She had it for a long time. 😡 I usually give people the benefit of the doubt, but this was ridiculous. I should not be better at diagnosing ferret health problems than the professional . I wonder if one of our babies would still be alive if we had a different vet a couple of years ago

from the point of a viewer, depends highly on your region, but often you give them more when using an old phone/tablet and stream it 24/7 on lower res (i run mine on 360) compared to direct gifts from the wishlist. Hey guys, I was watching Thor's stream yesterday where he was designing the room for the rescue and I decided to create the whole rescue in The Sims 4 last night. Hey there, I had some ferret questions. My mother rescued 2 ferrets (cream cheese and sesame) from a horrible home, the owner did not want them anymore. These little guys are the happiest wigglers in the world. Recently one has passed and my mom mentioned getting 1 or 2 more to live with Sesame. Sesame seems to be doing fine, certainly missing his friend but still really playful, eating, drinking, wanting cuddles, etc. Doing some simple research I saw that when a ferret is "widowed" they may not be accepting of new ferrets. I guess my questions are how accurate is that "widowed" bit and are there any other signs that my mom and I should keep an eye out for.

I looked at the link, and at the top it mentions this

So that does feel like fake engagement since you're artificially creating duplicitous view for a channel through coordination, which is against TOS. So I would be careful doing this.

Hey shaye I'm not going to ping and bother you, but if you happen to see this, what kind of fabric do you use for the pen, and how do you keep it from bunching? Our willow is starting to slip a bit.
We're working on ferret proofing other rooms in the house and adding new gates so they can explore more. Obvs we're not going to put fabric in the whole house, but at least the living room

The things on the floor are puppy pads, I'm pretty sure the underside has an anti slip on it (or at least I know puppy pads with anti slip undersides to exist cause we have some ourselves)

They do have cages, but they have their own bedrooms, and the cages stay open unless there's an emergency

Oh absolutely! We use rewashable puppy pads for our cat, since he is an extremely messy eater, so we have them under his food dish 😂 We have the big ones so they just cover most of the table 😛

Husband works from home, so they get lots of time out, because he can basically make his own hours, so when they want out of their rooms he can stop what he's doing and monitor until they wear themselves out and go back to sleep

Our tiny willow was diagnosed with insulinoma, we let her explore outside of the gated area.. she normally doesn't get excited, and sleeps the most.. anyway.. we let her out and followed her around since the rest of the house, and she was so excited, running. She started war dancing, made my heart hurt. So it's a priority to get her more places to explore..
Not really what we were talking about, but who else am I going to tell hah

i went for a walk with my dog earlier and he was excited and energetic because he knew there was chicken for dinner. after dinner he became apathetic and did not even want his obligatory desert treat. he suddenly was in a lot of pain. he is staying at the vet clinic overnight. the x-ray showed nothing specific except some blurs all over the stomach. even with painkillers he was in too much pain for them to do an ultrasound. they suspect a tumor might have ruptured and have to stabilize him first. i am absolutely devastated knowing that he was and is in so much pain, but not knowing what he was and if he will make it 😭

Mom and I were outside to see the Lunar eclipse/ bloodmoon. We live on the edge of a nature preserve. My mom and I heard something down the hill in the bushes. I took our lantern and put in on my head so I could see without being blinded. We saw a pair of eyes reflecting staring back at us, maybe 30 feet away. I threw our snow shovel in it's direction. It took a couple of steps but did not run. Kept staring.. mom and I gtfo. There's coyotes and bobcats in the area. All the more reason to make sure a ferret never escapes
