for local records you usually use something around 30mbps or more to get a decent quality. ^^
yeah, looked it up, so for x264 coding with 1080p should be around 20-30mbps. But this depends on what you recording. If you play rhythm games like osu, a dance of fire and ice, etc. with tons of effects, you most likely need even more. I recorded a few maps and even with 35mbps the video had some distortion.

ferrets should be fine. The main issue would be high temperatures, because they can't sweat to regulate their temperature, but they have low temperatures currently. So no issue on this side.
The food is kibble, freeze fried chunks and occasionally (iirc once per week) salmon oil + egg. Should be no problem as well.
The thing i don't know would be the cooler for the meds (if the meds they use need one). But also they have a generator, like dynosu said already.

i just read a very interesting article about the preservation efforts of black-footed ferrets, with their history and funding issues they are facing right now. i guess a few people in this community might be interested. personally i learned a lot from it.
