No they were marshal ferrets. I got stupid lucky. And had a very good exotic pet vet. Knew what to expect and when and how to treat

Ultimately inslanomia progression was too much for hiei. She passed first at 8 . Chii went a few months later just after turning 9.

Freeze dried raw diet really was a game changer for them both!

I don't mean this in a bad way but what is Shaye able to do at the rescue that can't be done by the vet? I'd think the vet would be better equipped to handle anything. Is it just a matter of observation time that a vet can't do?

sometimes it could be that the vet doesn't do overnight care, so the animal needs to go somewhere after hours. their rescue is probably the best choice

I'm so sorry the little wiggler is going through this. I can only imagine how hard it must be to see a ferret in an incubator, fighting so hard. I know Thor and Shaye are doing everything they can, and that's what counts most—being there for them, giving them love and care. Sometimes, all we can do is hope and hold on to the thought that the little wiggler knows they’re deeply loved, no matter what happens. I’m sending you all the strength and healing thoughts today, hoping for the best outcome

Shaye and thor can give the ferret undivided attention, where as at an emergency or overnight vet, they will have other animals that also need care.

This is Pugsley who passed from DIM yesterday. I’m his mommy and kept him home with us for his care with Shaye and the vets help and advice. She is so wonderful and has been amazing for us.

Shaye is incredibly knowledgeable with DIM and has a good set up to care for these babies. They need constant care. Vets go home at night unless it’s an emergency center who is open 24/7. So a lot of it I think is about observation and time.

We knew it was a possibility to still happen. But it still caught us off guard because even with the issues he was experiencing, he seemed to be improving. I wish Shaye could have been there, I know she was very passionate about his care and making sure he had what he needed to make it and it would have been nice if she had been able to say goodbye. We were at the vet when he passed getting an ultrasound and some new meds. It was very sudden.
