Alternatively - WEIRD AUDIO PROBLEMS can be caused if you're trying to mix one audio output into an input of a separate PC, on the same power board.
You need a little passive device you plug in to clean the power / audio delivery to fix that.
I have an old AIO PC+Monitor I started using as a "twitch/kick tv" while I game on my main PC, and it NEEDS it otherwise the audio sounds hellish and weird.
They're called a ground loop noise isolator, I believe.

Ooooof. Ok, yeah, that could be it - either a connection is broken in the cable and you need to run your fingers and flex along the whole cable to see if there's an internal break, or the speakers have blown in the headphones.
IIRC that can happen and it'll be intermittent because high frequency stuff is easier to hear than bass when the filament/skin of the speaker is blocked, busted, or not responding properly.
Which is why it sounds perfectly fine on a recording. XD

No no, it doesn't pull the cable and put all the force on it, it just unplugs from the headphones itself.
The short cable hanging from the headphones is a 3.5mm socket, so I just plug a 3.5mm male-to-male and can replace that haha.
Sure does get a bit of a yank, but it unplugs from the headphone socket before it causes major damage. Inside the headphone ear cup, the cable is bundled up on a section as well, so it doesn't pull on that short, fragile piece of cable between the wrapped/sealed cable and the separated wire inside.

@minor nymph When I was a kid, my dad made two miniature mountains out of foam. Carved them with a knife, painted them by hand, and flocked them himself. I would use them for terrain when playing. Well over a decade later, my dad was moving, handed me those mountains and asked me to throw them out. I refused, he said we had no purpose for them. I instead gave them to my local game store.
For over five years now, they have remained in that store as apart of the free use miniature wargame terrain. They are the most commonly used terrain pieces despite others pieces being official game terrain sets. I've made a habit of taking photos of those two foam mountains whenever I see them being used and send them to my dad. To remind him those miniature mountains he made almost 2 decades ago, are still in tact, and being joyfully used.

But yeah, shared this story because sometimes you make something, think nothing of it, but it holds so much more value to someone else. Sometimes creativity is its own reward.
My dad made two foam mountains for his son to play with, and now they live on decades later, getting routine use from random wargamers who appreciate them without ever knowing who made them or the story behind them. So I try to remind my dad, that his work has value, and is appreciated more than he knows.
Go make stuff, don't get hung up on it. Your art has value.
