For me, Kick has better latency. The star is 60 pixels ahead in Kick compared to Twitch. There is no "video stats" on Kick so we've to guess.

The real test is going to be when Kick switches gear and tries to make a profit. What's the sub split going to be? How much extra for Kicks (or less for streamers per Kick)? What's the ad revenue going to be like? Etc.

It is with sadness I post to say I chose to have my service dog Joe put to sleep tonight.
He had been suffering from seizures for months, that, while controlled with medication, caused him to grow increasingly anxious and show signs of dementia and pain. I chose to humanely and gently end his suffering.

Joe was the consummate good soul who loved making friends with anybody and any creature he came across. His deafness was never a hinderance to him, and he lived his life with joy and confidence.
He helped me through some very rough times and took excellent care of me. It was truly an honor to have him choose me to bond with.
He was the embodiment of love, gentleness, and joy; and while it is sad to see him go, it is a relief to know he is not suffering anymore.
He will be missed, and remembered fondly.
May he spend the eternities running through the tall grass he loved, finding the friends he enjoyed, and discovering others to share his love with.
And eat lots of peanut butter...
I post this not to bring sadness, but to highlight his life and hope others find the love and help they need in a companion like Joe.

As an addendum, Joe was deaf from birth, was a stray found on the streets, and I adopted from a rescue agency that took him from a kill shelter. Imagine what the world (and I) would have lost if he had not been rescued.
He was a big guy - 85lbs, but so gentile he amazed and won over many people who were afraid of dogs. Including my mother.

Though as for the speculation of whether or not muting affects things, rather than a full mute, I usually set player volume to 1% (that way I can still tell tell if the video is playing or not by the icon on the tab, muting the tab will show the mute icon there even if the stream has stopped...)

I did have to replace the GPU in it back in late 2019, the GTX 570 in it was starting to fail pretty badly, ended up getting a used GTX 1070 SC off of eBay to replace it with, right before GPU prices went nuts with everyone suddenly upgrading the computers that they suddenly found themselves sitting in front of a lot more than they did before...

If used GPU prices ever actually go down again, a mid-to-upper 30-series card would be a tempting upgrade, though.

And one can always dream of finding a stupidly good deal on an RTX A6000 someday, would just have to force-install the 3090Ti driver to use it. (They're basically the same thing except the A6000 has 48GB VRAM stock. 😛)

Kick is just currently in the building userbase stage, and very aggressively at that. Seeing s how Amazon owns the backend for Twitch and Kick, there's realistically no way that Kick will overtake Twitch, and very slim chance it can become profitable even when they switch gears seeing as how Amazon controls the major costs. Kick needs to find out how to make their own backend that doesn't suck after they build enough users so they can control the costs rather than being at the mercy of another company that's also a competitor.

probably just need to post more. typically people say you need to post 3 shorts a day starting out.

Also with shorts hashtags are important, but from my testing shorts seem to do better when hashtags are in the description and not spammed in the title like on tiktok. makes the title look cleaner.

Also i feel like shorter titles do better for shorts strictly because of the shorts algo being the scrolling system. Could just be me tho.
