That's almost exactly the functionality @minor nymph needs to do bouncing spells, just set the projectile gravity to zero and it will do straight lines...

Since Thor think a projectile with a high enough speed is using raytrace, there's no need to set it up as a raytrace just set it up as a projectile with zero grav and super speed, that might increase the possibilities as far as particle effects, instead of a fancy colored line it can spew a radius of fancy particles.... Damn I wish I had Hytale 😂

Yes and no, prion diseases don't really activate after years like that, once you have it, its active. But it can take a long time for the damage to build up to the point where clinical symptoms can show. Common wisdom was that prion diseases aren't detectable in the blood and only really identified in post mortem biopsies. However, that's changed slightly in more recent years, they can be tested for but its very difficult to do accurately.

Example:
You can see a torch behind the water on the left. Second picture you can see the right torch obscured through the slime liquid. If you look through the water in the third picture, the slime disappears and you can see the torch again.

tbf the only similarity it has with hero shooters are the characters. the mode itself is very different.

• you start off by putting armor on your base similar to R6S
• you then gear up by getting loot out of chests and mining ore.
• you then fight
• there's an upgrade section where you mine ores and upgrade your armor and weapons.

the goal at the end to win is to Raid the enemy base then kill all enemies. raiding the base basically turns off respawn for the enemy team.

I'm iffy on it
Can't say I had problems with the combat, it was actually one of the good parts for me

My issue is just
If you take a town management game and mix it with anything else, and then stick all of that on a continuous clock
You have now made a town management game where certain resources have extra steps
As you get further and the town grows and you have more people and workstations in it, you're going to spend more and more and more of your time at the town rather than whatever else the game has to offer
This isn't exclusive to Cult of the Lamb, as it's an issue I've run into with other games before, though I don't remember them off the top of my head

In CotL's case in particular, though, it exacerbates the problem
Because the dungeon runs are how you progress the story
So when you have to spend days at a time in town handling everything on a day to day basis and hardly ever set foot in the dungeon because there aren't any resources you need from it, the story grinds to a halt

I think the best way genre-mixing with a management game can be done is shown by Moonlighter
You run a shop, and do nightly dungeon runs to scrounge up stuff to sell in it
The trick is that it's divided up into phases, and not on a timer
You have the dungeon phase where you get all the stuff, the shop phase where you sell it, and the town phase where you get upgrades and story
Since there's no limit to how long you can sit in a phase but a limit to things you can do in a phase, you're eventually forced to move on so the clock pushes forward and things progress
And since you're moving to the next phase at the end of the dungeon run whether you win or lose, you're encouraged to be as thorough as possible and get everything you can, rather than in CotL where you basically have to speedrun ransack the whole place to get back to town before your people starve or you miss too many blessings/sermons

Imagine something like that for Lamb
You have the nighttime phase where you do the dungeon run, daytime where you manage your town and spend all the resources you just got, evening where you poke around to the other locations, and then repeat
The resource stations would be on a phase-based system with this, i.e. your lumberjack station produces 5 wood per day as long as you assign someone to it

There's no immediate time pressure to make sure you've gotten what you need for a daily cycle, and there's no rush in the dungeon so you can get back before something goes wrong

It would emphasize thoroughness and completion more than speed

And since you're doing a dungeon run on a regular schedule, the story would progress at a more consistent pace

That's just my two cents on the game and why I keep bouncing off of it
It's something I'd like to enjoy, but the systems clash too often for me to get much further than the second zone of the dungeon and a few dozen days in

Cult of the Lamb has significantly improved over the years. It's still cute and the combat difficulty ramps up gradually (also has infinite runs). You can produca all the resources you need to keep the settlement going without much effort, or you can spend more time on the colony and combat becomes easier as a result. Very good game.
