AI can code, but it often doesn't work well or has bugs and almost never connects to other pieces of code without severe issues. So you end up with something that you have to spend more hours patching to make work than you would if you made it yourself from the start.

The other problem with AI coding is that only people who already know how to code know when its doing something wrong, and how to fix it. And it usually takes more time to fix what it broke compared to just, doing it yourself from scratch.

Imagine you have a wood kitchen chair with a broken leg. You tell AI to make you a chair leg. It gives you a leg for a 4 legged metal stool. Can you make that leg for a metal stool work on a wood chair? Yes. Would you need to put more effort than its worth? Yes. Would it have been better and quicker to just make the leg yourself originally? Also yes.

tbh i think a lot of it is his former association with blizzard/WoW, because i think a particularly stubborn contingent of his haters are from the hardcore fanbase, and as a former WoW player there's this really intense bitterness people have about how far Blizzard and its games have fallen in terms of quality compared ot what they fell in love with

which is of course why they pick a random ex employee to harass who openly says that the reason he quit is because the working conditions sucked and call him an industry shill

but no i genuinely think part of the TDS (thor derangement syndrome) is because people hate blizzard and so thor being popular partially because of his past with blizzard (explaining some behind the scenes/employment experiences, his dad being director of cinematics) activates some sort of rage trigger in former/current blizzard fans where they can direct their hatred towards one single person allegedly symbolizing blizzard's corruption instead of like... hating the company

which is why you have so many haters throwing around the nepo baby accusations and "wasn't actually that good" while they... still continue to financially support blizzard by being subscribed to wow lol

or you know they fail to think critically about the cognitive dissonance involved between them hating blizzard for being a bad company and their hate campaign against a former blizzard employee who experienced that bad company firsthand

Tbh there are a lot of people who only watch/play WoW and nothing else and those aren't viewers that would be reliable for a variety streamer to keep, so some of the sudden dropoff was probably from WoW watchers that would've left once Thor stopped playing anyways
