when the power fails its usually for the area, not just his house. Backup power won't do anything for keeping the stream up. There's also usually a delay between when the main power goes out and the backup kicks in so the computer could still go down anyway.

I had a peek at their company filings and they never had any money and have only been in debt for all 5 years in operation. Add to that their 14 person dev team size according to the game website "Meet the Team", they don't have the ability to fund anything let alone pay their team a regular salary.

It's either a passion project for all of them, or possibly a scam. No other games made by the studio, and casual searches didn't reveal any other projects by individuals either.
