tbh I found subnautica 1 not that scary, but then I tried it with full motion control vr mod and dayum, I might have unlocked myself a new fear

it made me sick at first as well but I found out about few hacks, first have a small door rug as example as where you stand on, so you can feel with your feet where you are at, and then have a fan blowing at you from one side thus also being able to tell where you are facing irl. oh and hydrate a LOT
that got rid of motion sickness for me at least

water helped me for having longer play sessions at least, not sure why but for some reason hydration is lot more important when using VR compared to flatscreen games or other activities (for me that is at least)

btw the rug + fan trick also helps in games where you dont need to turn around much or at all (like bneat saber as example)

my usual setup is to have rectangle rug so I can also tell where im facing with my feet and fan to have it blow in front of me, that way if playing games where there are moments where I need to run foward for a while, I can reposition myself quickly so the fan is in front of me again

Tbf, Subnautica scares the shite outta everyone, games a masterpiece of environmental, existential horror, the BGM is brilliant for inducing fear...and the Reapers...oh, the Reapers

I've also figured out that in games where you move around I need it to have a 'silhouette' 'vignette' effect on movement, or I get a slowly building and long lasting motion sickness. For VR Part of the problem that causes a lot of people motion sickness is the slight lag time and frame rate drops, I know have gotten momentarily woozy when things halt, but I learned to hold my head still when that happens

If you move far enough from their normal range, they do stop chasing you in the Cyclops

that's normal, if your eyes see something that the internal ear (the organ that helps you maintain balance, it's kind of like a level) doesn't sense, it confuses your vestibular system and causes motion sickness. It makes your body think you ate something bad, that's why you get sick

You start out with a basic arc furnace which can turn ores into their smelted equivalent with some power input
But if you want to move out of the early game, you need alloys

So you have to set up equipment to manage all of that, even if it's just a bunch of machines that you operate by hand

Fun fact, you can pressurize Liquid O2 with nitrogen gas, and you can presssurize liquid nitrogen with gaseous O2

One of the biggest accomplishments of the mid game is having an entire base that you don't need a suit in, because holy shit that is actually seriously hard to manage

But that's partially since I can't get anyone else to play the damn game with me so I have someone to learn alongside and keep me motivated

like, it's not designed or intended to be a horror game but it is The Ocean ™

you can technically get jumpscared by wildlife if you're not paying attention or just aren't familiar with what is where, but generally there are sound cues with all of them that play from far enough away that you should at least have advance warning that something is there even if you don't know exactly where they are

but aside from that it's not really scary. like when you get attacked/hurt/killed by anything there's no blood or gore. some of the leviathans have custom animations to eat you but they're very tame. i don't want to call it "cartoonish" because that sounds like an insult, but there really is zero gore and no blood besides a red-tinged overlay when you get damaged

There IS a way, but you cant do it retroactively, and you best hope you have spare hard drives ready; you can use third party chat like Chatterino to log all of chat for infinity. I tried that feature.... I have a 256G NVME... that feature lasted like a day XD

it was during peak when we would get about 50,000 chat messages per hour in the Twitch chat. lol

I got that number because my chat was set to a history limit of 50,000 messages and if I scrolled to the top it was always about an hour before messages disappeared

Late to this, but the difference between a team lead (or supervisor) and (line) manager is this:
A team lead can only direct what their team members should work on. Rarely, they have some limited form of discipline power.
A manager is the person a team member officially reports to. They have full work authority over team members, such as discipline, wages, scheduling, reassignment, and sometimes even promotion (within their own sphere of influence).
In large organizations, people usually have both a team lead and a line manager.
