Digi legs, effectively, have 2 knees pointing in opposite direction, so you need to setup 2 separate IK chains and an interaction between them, so they act in unison. It's a bunch of extra manual work, wherein the regular humanoid leg can be setup in minutes. Though that's just my take, and I ain't a super cool industry-level professional just yet.

I mean, you can play for years and still not understand it, it's well known to be a very complex game.
But if you wanna improve and have fun knowing what you are doing I would advise 3 things, if I may:

1 - do puzzles on chess.com - a few per day, per week, don't go nuts and only do puzzles, you need time to learn and apply. Things like ladder and discovery are really fun to do when you know what's happening

2 - openings and responses - this is by far the part of the game where you have the most control, and also this will vastly reduce your play time when you learn what to do on a few situations. On a higher level I would even say that the 4 first moves can many times completely define the whole game, they really really matter

3 - zero arrogance - this sounds silly but not at all, I've seen soooooo many players saying that some plays were obvious and the adversary was bad or "I can't believe you/him fell for that trap, lol" or a myriad of things. A phrase that I use a lot socially and during work is "everything looks obvious after you know the answer". This actually servers for many things anyway
