Because of the laws ownership exist legally around physical, for your own protection, software has to be a license. I can grant you an perpetual license, but it's up the IP owner. To be fair, it is absolutely a good idea to stop companies from crappy practices, even if they are completely legal.
Having nobody tricked into buying bad games would be a net positive for the society. I doubt Thor even has anything again that.

The issue is that if that is done under the SKG terms, it will terminally impact any games developed, that aren't always offline single-player games, regardless of whether they actually engaged in crappy practices or not. Maybe to a degree where indie developers might completely stop making games due to complications in development .

Both Ross and Thor have objectively right arguments to why the iniciative should/shouldn't go though. Neither of them are lying or misrepresenting anything. This is something some people have trouble comprehending.

There is almost definitely a compromise somewhere between "criminalizing games" and "no government intervention" that would suit the situation best. Until then, just don't buy bad AAA titles.

It's like if I wanted to put forward an initiative for Free Water for All, coming from a tap or faucet in every mile of a country. I make the Initiative look really nice and labelled all the good things that would happen if it went through. Good idea right?

But I didn't think about about the infrastructure changes.

• The plumbing of the water,
• The Laws about what piping is needed,
• The storing of the water,

Under SKG, that studio or developers now have to hand over their game to the public because it is now "End of Life"

So food for thought, and partially cus its upsetting and I need to vent a lil. I just unfollowed Jacksepticeye, a guy who I have followed for 15+ years probably? His take to me was copy/paste, and only partially informed. Yet like everyone else making a video, he had to get his jabs in at Thor and make it about "The big bad piratesoftware!"

Here are some things I didn't do:

Which then means under SKG, the developer is then forced by law to give up the game to the public, making any changes necessary while they have little -no money. And lose any rights to the game that they made.
