Engage or Ignore at your discretion, the overall feeling I'm going to communicate Is of catching fire, amplification of said fire, and a tucked away nugget that solved everything.

Its my hope to help people avoid throwing out the baby (this wonderful community, and the wonderful Thor) with the bathwater like I almost did.
Preface out of the way, I hope I can fit all of this here. I am very open to having follow up conversations.

When the wow hardcore fiasco hit, I watched the clip, read the response, saw a few surrounding follow up videos by others, and walked away thinking, "Thor was an ass, and I didn't like his response, BUT, these other guys are being an ass about the situation and I'm not particularly invested in hardcore wow anyway." Classic internet drama, I moved on. HOWEVER It was a very different story for me with the more recent Stop-Killing-Games-initiative situation. I watched the original livestream, thought thor was being an ass. I then looked into the SKG initiative and was confused as to why Thor was being such an ass towards it. So I dug deeper seeking understanding getting more and more upset every step of the way. I was getting more upset because each time Thor would communicate It would come across as arrogant, dismissive, and unwilling to reach any understanding. Until 2.5 to 3 hours into your stream with HealthyGamerGG that it clicked. That you were genuinely attempting to reach an understanding and accept feedback. The disconnect and my agro disolved. And only then could I look back on the series of events and compounding miscommunications between what Thor meant and how it had come across to me.

Very few people will sit through 2 hours of their agro bar rising. The journey is important. People surviving that journey before going ballistic is very very important.

They wouldn't ban game engines per se. I'm speculating that the new initiative will require all future games to be made under game engines or software that have the seal of approval of the new legislation borne out of the initiative.

The only way to really get this ball rolling without any vagueness and ambiguity is to get devs on your side. No AAA but at minimum AA, solo/small indie devs. You need them

I've seen some indie game developers come out in support of the movement but they shortly after advertised their offline single player GODOT/RPG maker games
