Recording a stream instead of downloading just changes the work he has to do, it doesn't eliminate it. Making backups still takes times, something he already doesn't have much of. The cost of buying storage space may be a business expense but again, that doesn't change the fact that its an expense he'd need to incur just to store things. That storage drives are cheap, is a moot point, its still extra things he has to do for little benefit.

Objective truth can be true for eternity, but if you have a negative response to that truth emotionally, you will probably just gonna tune out.
that talk resonates with me so well, I myself is a nerd in computer hardware, I know my own objective truth, numbers, percentage, cold hard numbers. But if the person I'm talking with personally wants a specific brand just because they like that brand, which is an emotional response, I probably ain't going to change their mind with my percentage

Set up an ARP Spoofing mitm between a win7 and win10 VM, changed the website on the Win10 VM's ISS webpage, slapped the password image into the webpage by editing the html, then collected the packets when the Win7 machine connected to the Win10 ISS webpage with the image on it.

I just used Wireshark to scan ALL the data in the image, because for me it made sense for a moment, that you could totally set up a python script to sniff certain data transferred. And to get the password, sniffed from the python code, you just need a browser to refresh a local hosted webpage of the image. Then grab the data from the packet as it's transferred.

I just went on with the run like normal. I don’t regularly reach a significant distance in Noita. Me playing Noita is like a Dude Perfect episode where IM the target. Unluckiest player in the world. had a good idea to extend the botnet idea, botnet sort of renders the replacing machine parts system ineffective, i mean the npc parts will wear down over time too so you'd have to constantly 'repair' the botnet by taking over fresh machines, but if you could also sell access to the botnet for people to use like cloud computing, insanely hard idea to implement because alot would go into that to keep all aspects true to the game like configuring it right so you dont accidentally compromise your botnet, but it would be sick

A stream in focus will run forever, a stream not in focus will time out and drops work a bit randomly, sometimes for a bit, sometimes at .5 speed and sometimes not at all.

it's basically "bad connection", the problem is that it's used in many situations.

For streams not in focus it's because the stream is intentionally throttled. If it's an active stream it's usually an error or on your side.

It will just end up as a marketing thing that is unrelated to reality, it will also make people not look to critically on stuff because it has the certification and once a few games with it are caught having used AI it will then blow back on all of them

Also the thing right now is that most companies are outing themselves because that is the way they think drives investors crazy

But once they go quiet about using it and start being more subtle that's when it will start getting harder to find it an place a spotlight on it

I don't remember the exact story about the kidnapping, but about the euthanization thing, from what I've heard, PETA has a very high euthanization ratio because their shelters will take in any animal no whether what. This includes animals that are very sick, aggressive, or have other issues that make people not want to adopt them. I've also heard that sometimes when a no-kill shelter has an animal that is sick to the point that most people would euthanize them, they will actually send those animals to PETA for them to get euthanized there, to maintain their no-kill status.

Yes, PETA members have stolen a dog from someone's front porch, and then euthanized it.

Lotta things like that. Also, their beliefs are very malleable when it comes to rich donors.

PETA is Evil. Individuals in PETA may be good, but the entire system they work with is screwed up.

Also, multiple PETA shelters don't meet their own damned guidelines for a Animal Shelter. They're kill-mills, straight up.

That depends. You could argue that the people copying or tracing made a conscious decision to do so, while an "AI artist" simply let the computer do the work.
In the sense that there's an artistic ability, sure, but otherwise I'd argue that copying is worse.

An art director could (and should) be able to suss out AI-work, at least at the current level. Copying and stealing is close to impossible to work out, unless you are familiar with the original artists work.

Pure AI-work that is, not generative backgrounds and such.

I mean most of the time "ai artists" specifically ask for certain styles and that's besides the fact that the company owning the model stole almost everything from everyone they could. So anyways the are both aware of the general thing they are stealing from and also do nothing to contribute to it

The difference is that even though AI might use illegitimate sources the "artist" is never aware of who they are copying or how. They are simply taking a shortcut or compensating for lack of skill.

Take Marathon, had it been AI generated symbols and art it would have been bad, but it wouldn't have been "stealing from a known artist" bad. We would also probably not have known about it.

I'm not condoning either thing ofc but at least with AI the burden is on the creator of the tool, not the "artist" or their lack of skill.

In theory there could be an "ethically sourced" AI.

The problem is, that while artists may have agreed for the Ethical Generator to make the art, its also highly doubtful they'll get anything from it, either money or attention drawn to their own drawn art.

It would just end up being a colossal list of Artists credited for singular pixels that were generated to make up the entire piece

Technically it wouldn't work on a pixel basis but more of a region of pixels. Also more concerning would be people asking to draw heinous stuff in the art style of those that agreed to have their art submitted

But AI is still a tool, how that tool operates and who gets access is up to the creator of the tool.
The AI artist has no input how it sources its material. They have some say in how to utilize the tool (and what happens after) but they cannot actively make a choice.
Copying, tracing and stealing is always an active choice. (Which you could argue the creators of the tool is doing, but that's a different matter)
