Q: Spell bactching seems to be causing problems with aoe abilities such as people being able to run over hunters traps and it not going off or running through mages blizzard spell and not getting hit or slowed by it and many more aoe abilities… are there any thoughts about lowering the spell batching delay or another way to fix these issues?
A: This is actually not related to spell batching. Traps and AoE abilities check for the presence of targets during a heartbeat update. If the target moves through them between two heartbeat updates they will not notice the target. This is how it was in the original 1.12.

Haha it’s always been they way with hardcore. Played Diablo 3 hardcore one season. At least you could keep your stash and have a friend power level you back up with that. Wow hardcore is so much more harsh. My only thought was he probably needed do a sanity check after the first crash. Reset the pc ect. But that’s what you sign up for with hardcore. Sucks he lost world first. But 40 of hours of lost wow time is nothing. Wait till someone looses a character with a month on it. Ouch……

feels like an either or problem in that you have game reality and outside reality. thor advocates for staying in the game reality but the game itself enforces its reality onto the player regardless of his actions (disconnects, spaghetti moments, etc.). so maybe active moderation and remedy deaths that occured to game failure? but that needs resources. "no rollback" seems like an economic decision. anyway, food for thought

That's kind of the risk that HC players get into though. I know a lot of what I like about older games is that there is no save or checkpoint system. You fail, game glitches, what-have-you, that's a wrap. Start over from the very beginning

My take on it: as a gamer, you are shielded of so many unforeseen circumstances in games compared to real life that disconnection is the only thing that actually resembles reality in its consequences. I met a man that was loved by many people that died in the shower at age 42 with a sudden heart attack. You could be bitten by a snake in the wilderness, break your leg, be struck by lightning, etc.
All of those are circumstances as rare as the game crashes we have, and that's ok.
To be less grim in analogies, let me take you to virtual racing. If you run in iRacing, it sure is annoying to have a game crash, a hardware malfunction, or a sudden disconnect. However, there is no RNG in iRacing concerning parts failures as occurred in Pierre Gasly's car yesterday at the Las Vegas Grand Prix. Hardware malfunction happens less and less in real life, but so do disconnections, netcode induced collisions, or even wheel disconnections.
And you absolutely can't rollback in iRacing. The race won't stop for you, there will be no yellow flags for you to take advantage of. So, in a sense, WoW/Diablo/Path of Exile is way more forgiving.

Lacari is level 32 and specializes in aoe damage. Thor is 37 and specializes in single target damage.
Lacari literally can't use it at the moment and when he can, it won't be a good weapon for him. Where as for Thor it would be a potent upgrade in damage.
Lacari's chat trolled him into thinking it was both a rare weapon and would be good for him when its really neither.
He offered to sell it to Thor for 5 gold, then cancelled the trade because his chat was making him think it had a .5% drop rate when it really has a 48% drop rate.
Wow has a system of Need/Greed on loot rolls, which is effectively a priority system. If you roll Need, you'll get it before anyone that rolls greed.
Lacari rolled Need on the loot roll despite not being able to use it yet and knowing it would be good for Thor. In and of itself, its kind of a bad manners move to do that. So Thor starts trolling him over choosing need and cancelling the trade.

Point of clarification: Taunt is only a single-target tool, mostly for initial aggro or emergencies.
I generally agree though, threat isn't a major issue; biggest concern is likely survivability. Especially as you get higher level, it gets to be a bigger strain on healers and your safety margins go down.

It's not so much the culture as it is the other issues that can arise from someone using his content without his permission. One example that come immediately to mind:
- Someone gains a massive following using his content and possibly pretending to be Thor. They then go on to start using this impersonator account to push malicious links / products for profit. While it's not directly Thor's fault for this happening, the internet - crazy / ignorant as people are - will generally look unfavorably on it. In part due to taking what they hear at face value and not researching.
Going back further, I realize this isn't quite what you were discussing here, but I'm leaving it as I do think it's something people should keep in mind if they ever try creating their own brand of any kind - streaming, selling, etc. It's not just taking a cut of your work, but it's a risk to your consumers and your brand.

I agree 100%. It's just frustrating because it feels like he's got very little interest in youtube. I've gotten the impression he has zero interest in clips past the random and specific things Sunder posts. Putting on a 12 hour vod to get 4 hours of enjoyment is daunting at best and when my device is inaccessible most of the time, I end up just leaving

Newbie question here; Thor doesn't stream on thursdays?
As you can see in Thor's Streaming Schedule, he does not stream on Thursdays.
Additionally, Thor no longer streams on Wednesdays, as noted in this [news post](#streams message).

You're welcome! Of course, the schedule can change on a whim — with for example, the stream yesterday. However, as a rule, there are usually no streams on Wednesdays or Thursdays.

Just a wild guess, averages are probably around 2 hours a night and 3 days a week.
